  1. Hi Im based in UK Im looking to buy a Nauticam 45 viewfinder...
  2. Hi all Im selling an Inon Z240 TYPE 4 on ebay ending soon thanks
  3. Hi all Im selling a selling subal 45 viewfinder on ebay ending soon thanks
  4. Thank you all for your replies. I have used 3 viewfinders so far. I used an Inon 45 viewfinder on Ikelite housing. This had an adapter and went over the ikelite viewfinder so it could be fitted and removed underwater. It was quite nice to be able to take it off during a dive and it made an enormous difference. Since then I never dove without a viewfinder. Now I use a Subal 45 viewfinder on Subal housing. I love it. Very high quality. And small, so its easier to see the LCD screen. I also have a Subal straight viewfinder suits my stile much better. One image in this review by Alex Mustard http://wetpixel.com/articles/thoughts-on-viewfinders-and-mini-review-nauticam-45-degree seems to suggest that the Nauticam view is larger but Im not sure if thats just a lens perspective issue. I never used a Nauticam viewfinder but the diopter I think is just another thing to occlude the LCD view...
  5. Can those who tried more then one viewfinder give their thoughts? How do viewfinders from Subal, Nauticam, Aquatica, Sea&Sea, Inon, Seacam (etc) compare? Size weight magnification sharpness Thanks
  6. I contacted Aquatica regarding the weigh of their EM1 housing. Here is the answer: Housing (no grips) - 1875g Housing (+ grips) - 2250g 8" Dome - 785g 4" Dome 330g
  7. I Use the backpack solution for years. Whitin required size, but absolutely overweight. I always travel with a jacket with big pockets. If I see that the specific airline is weighting the hand luggage then a couple of strobes, a couple of lenses, viewfinder and focus light quickly go into the jacket... bag weighted... and a few steps away... back into the backpack...
  8. London, UK I have for sale a Sola photo 600. Great condition, rarely used. Holds battery like new. PM me with your offer if you are interested Thank you
  9. London, UK I have for sale a Zen Underwater DP-230 dome. It has a small dent on it (see the picture) Sea&Sea mount PM me with your offer if interested. Thank you
  10. Im speechless!!! I was quoting the weights from the makers sites: http://subal-megastore.eu/a340c73c2c1/Housing/SLR_cameras/Nikon/ND7100.aspx http://www.nauticam.com/product.asp?id=275 http://www.aquatica.ca/en/products_dslr_d7100.html
  11. Maybe yes, maybe no... But take for example the Nikon D7100: Subal housing - 2.3 kg Aquatica housing - 2.75 kg Nauticam housing - 3.23kg All aluminium high quality housings, yet there is a substantial difference in weight between housings. In deed its not just the weight of the housing, you have to consider the weight of the whole system
  12. I miss read Stewarts post. He says "The AE-M1 bare weighs in at 2.5 lbs. If you add the handles and the 8"dome, the weight totals 5lbs or 2.27 kg." That means the Aquatica housing is 1.1kg!! That is just great... If that is true, it means that the Aquatica is the cheapest and lightest of the housings for the Olympus EM1. Plus Aquatica has an 8" dome to go with it and (as far as i know) Nauticam has none that can be used with a fisheye... Im going to email Aquatica and try to get to the bottom of this...
  13. I would use neither for over/under. they are both too small In fact I find very disappointing that nauticam has not made a large dome to be used with fisheye lenses
  14. It will not vignette http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46536&page=15 https://www.facebook.com/UnderwaterPhotographyWithAlexMustard/photos/a.187063704786614.1073741828.187037418122576/227400024086315/?type=1 3.5'' dome = closer focus + make smaller subjects look bigger + dome is smaller 4'' dome = more depth of field at same aperture
  15. Is the slow flash sync speed a problem with sony cameras underwater?
  16. Stuey60 - If you are considering a Subal housing what I can tell you is that you can't go wrong. They are always very very high quality. Thank you Stewart for the information. I assume you work for Aquatica (?) - Congratulations to Aquatica, its good to see brands (other then Nauticam) bringing innovation to the market - and your new 8" dome seems to be "sweet". Unfortunately the housing is still to heavy for me. My SLR Subal weights 2 Kg (with handles). The only reason I want a new one, and Im changing to mirrorless is because I want to travel light and want a light set that I can take walking/snorkelling. The problem with the EM10 Alex is the slow flash sync speed. I think maybe the GX7 would be a better choice... Thank you all for your input
  17. Did any of you Nex users found the slow maximum flash sync speed to be a problem to your photography? thank you
  18. Just got very disappointed with Subal's housing for the EM1. Looks good but just not priced competitively... so its time I move on to another housing maker... Nauticam is just too heavy for me so my hopes now fall on Aquatica. Does anyone know the weight of Aquatica's housing and new 8" dome? Thanks
