  1. Howdy folks, Maybe there is a problem with my DS 125 or maybe I am not understanding my system, anyway... I have an Oly 5060 in Ikelite housing...I originally was using DS 125 connected to EV controller, connected to housing... But I am just too impatient to use the controller and just want to go TTL... So I have now hooked up DS 125 to housing using sync cord... However, the strobe now does not fire unless the internal flash fires...I thought this was the whole idea of sync cord, in that the strobe will fire and quench when the camera tells it to...Its as if the strobe is now being fired optically....Although, since there is no sensor attached, the strobe isnt really being fired optically is it? Why then when I switch the internal flash on, does the strobe fire? Settings I use: Flash: Internal + ex (although ex only makes no difference) Flash: Slow 1 Whats going on here?? Many thanks mg
  2. I used to work for NSW Fisheries (Australia) and we used to go diving (free) and photoing at the FADs (Fish Aggregating Devices) off the coast...The FADs are in about 100 m of water and you get all sorts of stuff out there...dolphinfish, marlin, great whites ...it is a bit freaky first time, but once you get used to it its really fun, so much stuff out there... here are some photos that my boss took http://www.fisheries.nsw.gov.au/recreation...-_photo_gallery ...(thats me driving the boat)
  3. has anyone had this same problem with the manual controller? My strobe makes the same noise and drains the battery (even when strobe is off) unless I disconnect the controller from the strobe... I will contact Ike once I have been home and tried to bypass the controller as he suggested...
  4. Hi there, I am currently looking at getting an ultralite arm system but have a question...I really want a system where I can adjust the strobe underwater without having to undo clamps...I previously had a system with Locline arms and loved the ease of aiming the strobe....Am I right in believing that Ultralites do allow substantial movement of the strobe without having to undo the clamps everytime?? Cheers
