  1. Selling my underwater photography setup due to a realisation that as much as I want to, I only dive about half a dozen times a year. My system is based on the Sony RX100, which was critically regarded as the leader in the compact camera field for underwater photography. The entire setup includes: Sony RX100 with spare battery Nauticam NA-RX100 housing (100m depth rating) 2 x Sea&Sea YS-01 strobes with protective coats Inon UWL-H100 28 M67 Type 2 - 67mm thread wide angle lens (100 degree angle of view) Inon UCL-100 M67 close up lens 67mm double lens holder 2 x fibre optic cables Nauticam Flexi-tray with left and right handle, mounting ball, clams, arms The total price for all this when purchased was well over $3400. Selling package only. Please don't contact me offering to purchase individual items. Total price for the package is $2200 (plus postage + insurance). Contact: daniel@kana.photography
  2. My wife and I are heading back for our 4th trip to Hawaii in 4 years in Jan as well. For the spinner dolphins, we found the Big Island was the best spot. We tried Oahu but found they were too restrictive with flotation devices being worn in the water. On the Big Island we went with Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures. It's a private boat for about 5-7 people which gives you the freedom with do whatever you want. Be it spend the whole morning with the dolphins or go whale watching. Some of my pics from our dolphin trip are here: http://www.danielbust.com/blog/2013/2/Spinner-Dolphins For snorkelling, you can do the tours or just drive yourself to the Captain Cook memorial park. We've seen a couple of small white tips there but because there are so many tourists and boats you probably won't see much. If time is an issue I recommend some shore dives. We've done a few on Maui on the north coast and it was great. If you do the old jetty at Lahaina you'll find quite a few sharks and turtles like here: http://www.danielbust.com/blog/2013/3/Turtle-Town Monk Seals - I've only ever seen one and that was on Kauai. Good luck with that.

  4. Nice work Rebecca, for both the imagery and highlighting the concerns with the reduction of the kelp. Good to hear you left in time as well. The images seen on the news are not good.
