  6. Is this still available? Would you be willing to sell the housing + handles separately?
  7. Hi Etc, Some of the shots are shot at asa1600, and I could have cleaned them up but I liked the noise as it felt quite organic and like film grain to me. You're right though, it does seem more just like noise than grain after the vimeo compression. Cheers Nihal
  8. Looks great! Raja Ampat is easily my most favorite dive destination What lights did you use? Cheers Nihal
  9. Trip video from my last dive trip to Bali in August. First time ever I had this kind of visibility underwater in Bali. All shot with BMCC and edit/grade all in Davinci Resolve 12. I love the fact that for my needs I don't need to round-trip to any other program anymore. Now if Blackmagic would improve the stabilizing features for Resolve, everything would be perfect for me Hope you enjoy and comments & critics are welcome! https://vimeo.com/139103841
  10. Loved every minute of this! Glad you managed to break your curse
  11. Nice! What camera did you shoot this with?
  12. Awesome Reel! Thanks for sharing! Cheers Nihal
  13. Thanks Dustin. Actually it's pretty straight forward posting with the BMCC. The only hard part is the data management - if you shoot raw you need a fairly fast machine with a raid setup and lots of diskspace. Copying data takes time. But besides that, imagine processing raw photos, just in motion My entire workflow of sorting, editing, grading and finishing is in Davinci Resolve. Since v10 it has fairly good editing capabilities. Davinci's raw DNG module is very similar to Adobe's camera raw. You set you color temperatur, tint, exposure, contrast etc, and you have your footage whitebalanced and with an initial grade. So for me the biggest learning curve was getting used to Davinci Resolve. After that, it's not much difference to normal footage with the additional benefit of you're working with raw.
  14. In October 2014 we joined the Black Manta on their Banda Sea crossing trip - we had heard a lot about the crossing and were looking forward to it. As usual I had my BMCC with me to shoot the amazing underwater world of Indonesia. I hope you enjoy
  15. That is odd. The link works for me? https://vimeo.com/106392679
  16. Thanks Guys! Traveling there from Singapore to Tonga is a bit of a trek. Because we had to fly on certain dates our route was Singapore - Sydney - Auckland - Tonga - Vava'u. Timings were OK though, max overlay time was about 2-3h at each stop. We didn't have a chance to visit any other Islands unfortunately.
  17. Fantastic work! Makes me want to go back to Bali to dive there
  18. End of July we did a trip to Vava'u, Tonga. The weather was a bit rough unfortunately and the vis not always great but we did get 4 days of a lot of interactions and it was spectacular. Especially with one mother and calf which were just hanging out for days around there. Shot with bmcc. Hope you enjoy
  19. Hi Alex, thanks for the info! That is great news. In the end I had decided for a smallHD dp4 but it's good to know there's a 7" option out there now as well with actual sdi support. If I end up wanting to upgrade to a 7" the dive & see monitor is definitely on my list. Thani, thanks for the advice! Yeah the green peaking definitely helps but I don't find the auto focus to be very useful though since it tends to be very slow on the bmcc. For my style of diving & shooting I find having an external monitor helps a lot, since I can keep the camera slightly below me with the external monitor angled for better viewing. At the same time I have a better overview of my distance to subjects - (or rocks) -- before that I have managed to bump my domeport (and scratch it :/) more than once when using the bmccs built in monitor.
  20. Looks awesome, fun video Unfortunately it seems like even on 4k the detail is partly destroyed by the youtube compression.
  21. Great edit & music! Love it. Looking forward to the macro version. Komodo is definitely one of my favorite diving places.
