Inon Z-240 without sync port cover

Yes I mean the electrical sync port on the back of the strobe. Not the optical one. Will it be OK for two days of diving on a holiday while I wait for the cover to arrive? Is it sealed like the in on service tech said? -
Does anyone know if its ok to dive without the sync port cover on, and no sync cable plugged in? Ive just purchased a z-240 type II from a shop who forgot to post it. They said that the sync port is sealed and ok to dive open. He said he was an inon service technician but im not sure if this sounds right. Thanks
