Nauticam ttl converter for d500 housing
frank70 replied to D.K.S.'s topic in Photography Gear and Technique
Hi Ken, I just upgraded to a tttconverter/flash trigger mainly because i could't get the lighting right. Just for your understanding i have a hard time evaluating my pics underwater because of my eyesight. one of the reasons i got the D-500 was because of its focussing system. I used uit in macro mode for about 4 days and then drifted back to manual. It was producing oke images but i was not blown away. Never tested it for wide angle . It turned out that my problem was in the rechargeable batteries i was using. So in hindsight i would have never bought it. Kind regards , Frank -
Nikon D500 DX camera first impressions underwater.
frank70 replied to AlexDawson's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
I misunderstood u but tried it today , i could pull of a shot using only my right hand but wouldn't want to do a couple after one another, my hand started shaking because of the awkward grip so if your looking at shooting one-handed that would be a problem. Frank -

I have a Nauticam and very pleased with it. Ergonomics are great , back butten focus is with your thumb and release is with your finger , no problem Frank -
Hi Tim , Missed your post but there is : OFFT wich meets in Utrecht ones a month during the winter. Next meeting is 13 November see the website : http://www.offt.nl/ i dont know if the link is clickable but the adres is correct. There is a admission fee to overcome the cost of renting the place of €4,- Then there is Aquashot : http://www.aquashot.nl/ wich is founded by the NOB to stimulate the growth of the underwaterphotography ( and video ) in the Netherlands there are subdivisions ( regios) in wich people come together and evaluate and give positive criticism . Probably zuid-holland would be the one closest to you.Don't know if these are very active , i'm in Noord-brabant and we have a meeting end of next month Hope this is of help and feel free to write a pm if you need some help with the dutch websites Frank

Nauticam Na-EM1 and 45 degree viewfinder
frank70 replied to Rugani's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
While i'm not phil , i use the nauticam 45 deg on my nauticam house , I review mij pics thru the viewfinder , never thru the back-screen , with my eye site its not realy a good option to look at the backscreen. You can change the window easy by yourself its locked in place by a o-ring as Phil writes one minute job , having said that for me it never comes of... You cannot use the backscreen with a normal viewfinder , theres a big hole where the viewfinder goes thru, i take the orig window with me as back-up if i wanted to do that. ps i love the nauticam its a little wider than the inon , i traded mine in for the nauticam one I see Bill writes that there is a adapter to mount the inon to the Nauticam house , a year ago i could not find such a adapter so check that out !! I Always feel that even in december there are a little bit less critters than in Febr- may. If you come for a once in a lifetime i would look at these times but only last december was a total wash-out , bad visibility and rain all day . Club ocellaris replayed from this e-mail adres in june : jsvenus@gmail.com i've been looking at diving with them but wil go someplace else ( been in Anilao 5 times in 2 years so a change is good maybe ) Club Atlantis is for sure good its also the most expensive... Have fun, Frank

Move from D7000 to another camera
frank70 replied to PhotographingBlind's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
I have the same problem but for me the solution is to use a 45 degree viewfinder. I can compose and check thru this and not realy via the viewscreen at the back. I'm using a Olympus OMD-EM1 . Frank -
Nice shots . Love your skeleton shrimps , Bali is on my to do list so thanks for the shots Frank
