  2. I just purchase the X-T3 for an all rounder ; and so far I like it a lot. Just wanted to refresh this thread, since I'm thinking about buying a housing for it. Anybody have some feedback about fuji underwater ?
  3. Hi, Just wanting to know if the Fuji XT- 3 is of any interest right now in the underwater photography community. I created an old topic about the previous XT- 2 but AFAIK it wasn't that popular for underwater, and I really can't figure it out : http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=59318 The XT-3 seems to get praise all over the internet right now, as best APS-C in the market, best mirrorless outside the full frame category and video capabilities better than the pana GH5 / GH5s. Actually, people seems to be even more enthusiast about the XT- 3 than the Nikon Z7 or the new Canon EOS R . Only default is just missing a IBIS, that will most probably be corrected in the ( soon to be released ? ) XH-2.
  4. There are some pretty serious rumours about an upcoming Fuji X-H1, supposed to be announced in February. it will be about the same size as the X-T2, with IBIS and oriented toward both video and photo. I'm waiting to see if I buy either this one or the next GH5s that will be announced in January.
  5. I just got a response from Nauticam . They will release the housing quite soon, and here is the compatibility chart : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzggKvdoNvhkaUpjSGNNem0wOW8/view?usp=drive_web
  6. Excellent news ! I would be interested in the performances of fast wide angle primes like XF 16mm f/1.4, and which dome or port to use with. Also, If the lack of IBIS can be compensated with good OIS as in the 10-24 f4 OIS, I'll most definitely switch to Fuji.
  7. Interesting ! although I didn't find any dome or ports compatible with the fuji lenses on their website .
  8. Hi ! I've read some pretty nice review about the XT-2 for still photography and video ( with lots of very good lenses ) and many many people chose it as the best camera of 2016. Many people compare it to the a6500, and a majority of them prefer the Fuji. Anybody knows why there aren't that much interest for this camera for underwater photography ? There are several factor that would make this camera perform quite well : the fuji color rendition seems to be one of the most pleasant good low light photography because of APSC sensor good sharpness coming from the lack of low pass filter good set of wide angle lenses The only limiting factor would be the lack of IBIS ( I'm very interested in the EM1 mk2 just for this feature ) and good macro lenses for the X-mount. I didn't find any housing for it, but Nauticam built a housing for the XT-1 a few years ago. I don't think it was very popular as well ... Has anybody tried the XT-1 underwater ?
  9. Hi, I'm selling a second hand Nauticam NA-EM5 Housing with 4.33 Dome Port and Flexi-Tray WII. I used it just once for a 1-week dive trip a few month ago. Very good condition. Selling everything for 1500$ + shipping.
  10. Just added the infos. Yes most of the time the photos are in f2.0
  11. I recently came back from a diving trip in Soccoro, and tried for the first time the EM5 with the 12mm f2.0 under the 4.33'' dome port. I didn't have any strobes (next thing I will buy for sure), and shooted only using ambient light. I'm still a novice in underwater photography and did some beginner mistakes ... For example I let the camera in P mode : most of the time it picked an aperture of f2.0 making the depth of field too shallow and the corners very soft. I should have brought a magic filter as well, especially if shooting in ambient light and for videos. Fortunately I was able to correct the blue color using a simple white balance on the RAW file in Aperture, and did my best to correct the videos in Final Cut. Anyway I'm quite happy with the results ! video : iso 200 f2.5 1/125 iso 200 f2.5 1/125 iso 200 f2.0 1/60 iso 200 f2.2 1/100 iso200 f3.5 1/250 iso200 f3.2 1/200 iso200 f3.5 1/200 iso200 f4 1/200 iso200 f2.8 1/125 iso200 f2 1/60
  12. Hello, I'm building currently my first SLR equipment for UW ( with olympus OMD EM5 ), and I think I'm done with the camera, housing gears and ports. I have a few concern about the choice of strobes and lights ... I'm planning to shoot as much photos as videos, but I just figured out that we have to make a choice concerning the strobes : - either strobes for still images, and I'm thinking about S&S YS-D1 - either video lights, or focus light for videos and there are the Sola 1200 ou 2000 that seems to be quite good. is there any strobes that would be good for both ? should I wait for one to be released ? anybody tried video light for still images ? is it powerful enough ? what do you think of a package like this one for example http://www.opticaloceansales.com/underwater-camera-housing-packages/mirrorless-systems/optical-ocean-nauticam-olympus-om-d-e-m5-package.html Thanks a lot !
  13. Thanks for your responses, I really enjoy my 12mm f2.0, I think I'll buy the dome port for it and stick with it.
