  1. It's a very sad new for all of us He was a very beloved person and one of the greatest. We will miss him but somewehere in the blue his spirit will be giding us as the brightest light. I'm sure that Ike will be present at every dive and every picture we make. My condolences for all Ikelite Family, friends and co-workers. Thanks, Ike! Ana.

  13. Awesome!!! They all are very good, 1st one for that enormous mouth, 2nd pic because the animal is so close, 3rd one, I love that point of view with the shark coming. And last one, becasue of the delicate light and the composition. Really good jobb, thanks for sharing

  15. Hello walshwn, welcome! You have really nice pictures at your slideshow, better than the ones you have linked here. I enjoyed Green sea turtles, a picture called "Teamwork" and the beautiful blue at the first picture with the diver. The photos you've posted here are not bad, but maybe you have to try shooting closer to the subject (the moray eel ) and not down to the animal. I think that using this camera could be a good solution to practise until you feel really comfortable with a camera while diving. I spent 2 years shooting with a Bonica Multisnapper before purchasing the camera I'm using now. Regards
  16. Hi! We didn't enter the competition because Los Gigantes is quite far from La Orotava, where we live. Every time you need to open the housing (charge batteries, download pictures...etc) you had to go to Los Gigantes. And during the week my boyfriend (an UW photographer too) is working so we have no many time to dive, only weekends and night. Maybe next year...and with more practise! I see you won the first prize, congrtulations! Is a really good collection!
  17. Hi Freeshark! I live in Tenerife too, La Orotava, I donk't know who you are but sure we have been in the same dive places at the same time, it's so common here! I have seen your gallery, it's great! You have really good pictures there. The ones I like the best: the lady escarlata, eagel ray (el ratón) catalufa, the colors and close up at the cabrilla. And the last one is excellent, how did yo do that reflection? It's beautiful. Did you win any prize at the Semana Digital? Good job, thanks for sharing
  18. Hi! Theese are some shots of my 2 first night dives with an external strobe. I am using it since May 22nd but I didn't have the chance to try it at night until last week. Before this I only used the inernal strobe with an UW torch for night photos. So, this is my first experience with Ikelite DS125 at night. Alicia Miriabilis: this is an animal that lives on rocky places. During the day it is contracted, looks like a sponge with bubbles on it. At night it expands and shows long tentacles that uses to take the food. Alicia Miriabilis belongs to the same family as jellyfishes and anemones: A crop of another shot form this animal: Micromelo Undatus (I'm not sure if it is Micromelo Undatus, but I think so) It's not very easy to find but in the place where we usually make our night dives there are some of them: And that's all, hope you like it!
  19. It's lovely!!! It looks like a baby-fish opening those big eyes to discover the world. it's so cute! I like the DOF here. Good shot, you must feel very proud with it, you little fish has a great personality
  20. Great!!!! It's a beautiful picture, I'm totally amazed, congratulations!
  21. It's a very good and interesting photo. I saw something similar last wednesday in a night dive: Is it the same isopod? I have seen them in many different kinds of fishes, on the mouth, head, tail and fins.
  22. I do about 150-200 per year, I am living on an island and that is very helpful Good weather all the year, good diving points and, if you don't have good sea conditions in a place you can take your car and move to another diving site, it takes half an hour. And diving here is very cheap!!! 1 $ per dive (0.90 €) Many diving points are very close to the beach and you only need air in your tank, getting into the water and nothing else (I mean, you don't need to go to a diving center). The cost of an air charge is about 1 $. Of course, if you want to make a dive with a diving center, in a boat, it's not so cheap, but you have really good places just by the shore. I think I'm very succesfull living here
  23. Hi Simon! Your pics are quite fine, the first one has the problem of the green colour at the water, I think that you don't always find the best water conditions for a great blue. But the fan is very well lightened, the composicion is quite correct in my opinion. Seal is very good! I like that shot, I don't know what to critisize because for me is a beautiful shot. Regards
  24. Picture number 5 (2 dolfins) is so cute!!!! I love it! Pic n. 23 is very good too, that ones and 48, 53 and 58 are the ones I liked the most. Congratulations, you have a really nice collection
