I have three more shots from the same anemone, but I believe it's the same fish in all of the photos. I have one that shows the other side of the fish and the color pattern is not the same.

I haven't been able to find this fish in any of the books I have. The photo was taken in Tulamben, Bali. It looks very much like a pink anemonefish (amphiprion perideraion), one with white spots instead of a white bar. TIA.

I have a question for the users of the Sea&Sea DX-D200 housing. Do you take off the LCD monitor cover before mounting the camera in the housing? This is not mentioned in the user's guide and I'd prefer not to take it off unless I really have to. Thanks very much.

Hi Zook, I think it is true that Sea&Sea has stopped producing this housing. About a month ago, I was exchanging emails with the Sea&Sea dealer in Istanbul, asking him questions and trying to figure out whether I should buy the housing or not. A few days later, I received an email from him telling me that the housing would be discontinued and that he'd be able to place a final order for me. So, I went ahead and purchased one. This was mentioned in another thread recently. I also read somewhere else (can't remember where) that this might be because Sea&Sea would put out a new housing for the D200 with the TTL converter built in. The dealer here in Turkey tells me that this isn't the first time Sea&Sea is doing something like that and the housing for the D70S wasn't a long lived model either. He also thinks this might be the sign of a new Nikon DSLR model on the horizon.

Hi all, I've recently purchased a Sea&Sea DX-D200 housing and last weekend I had the chance to test it with a couple of strobes I have (Ikelite Substrobe 200 and Sea&Sea YS-60N). Both strobes fired ok, but after a while I noticed that I could bump up the shutter speed way past the flash sync speed of 1/250. Of course, I got partially blacked out photos as expected. What I'd like to know is if this is normal behavior for this housing. It seems that since not all the pins are connected, the camera doesn't "know" that a flash is connected, so it doesn't limit shutter speed but fires the flash anyway. I don't get the "flash ready" indicator in the viewfinder either. I did a search and found out that someone noticed the same thing with an Ikelite housing. Can Sea&Sea housing owners shed a light on this? Is this normal or do I have a faulty housing? Thanks very much...

Hi all, I've been using an Oly C-5050Z + PT-015 + DS-125 combo for quite a long time and now I'm considering housing my D200. I have the Nikon 12-24mm lens which I'd like to use underwater but I'm confused with the different port options for this lens. If somebody here is using this lens in a Sea&Sea housing, what would be your port recommendation? Will I need to use a dipoter with this lens if I choose one of the dome ports? Thanks very much.

herbko is right, this is what I had in mind when I posted this query. I thought the slave mode could be used like a built-in manual slave controller. Of course, this is not going to be an easy task even if it works right, because every time you need to change slave flash intensity, you have to go through a succession of menu operations to do it. Now, if only the custom button could be programmed to set slave flash intensity....

I've been playing around with various flash modes of the C-5050 and there's something I'd like to find out about the slave flash mode. I know that - at least some - underwater strobes handle different power settings (full, 1/2, 1/4 etc.) by changing the flash-on duration while keeping the actual light output same. When in slave mode, the C-5050 internal flash intensity can be set to a value from 1 to 10. Does this setting change the flash on duration while keeping the actual light output constant? If that's the way the slave flash works, I'm thinking may be this feature can be used sort of like a manual slave controller. By changing the slave flash intensity on the C-5050, it could be possible to get 10 level output from a DS-125 set to TTL with the Ikelite TTL slave sensor. Any thoughts?

Ys-60 with PT-015???
Turquoise replied to mech_inf_lt's topic in Lights, Strobes, and Lighting Technique
I doubt the YS60 can be used with the PT015, since it doesn't have a built-in slave sensor. I am not sure, but may be an external slave sensor could be used to fire the YS60. -
I'm new to this forum but haven't been able to figure out something so far. When I go to a forum, a certain number of topics are displayed, as set on my profile. Now, what do I do to view older topics apart from using the drop down lists at the end of the page? Is there a way to view all the topics page by page?
