  1. Hi Im selling my Nauticam NA-1DX housing & Nauticam 8.5" acrylic dome. Im only asking for $2500 for both (cost over $6000) so grab yourself a bargain. The housing is in good condition and has been upgraded with the Nauticam vacuum leak system. The only minor issue is the shutter button return spring has broken, but it still works absolutely fine and should be a cheap and quick fix. Apart from that the housing has only a few minor cosmetic scratches. The housing can also be used with the new Canon 1-DXii, you only loose the ability to switch between video and live view if I remember correctly. The dome port is free from scratches on the glass, but has some scratches on the lens hood. Please see attached pics & feel free to contact for any extra info
  2. Thanks Alex Yes that is always an option but will try a few cheaper ones first
  3. Hi Mark thanks for the link! Well my rig is pretty much neutrally buoyant , possible very slightly negative. But it is way out of balance, the dome port really does tip up at the moment Thanks Diver Doug Another thing to try out
  4. If anyone is interested I just fitted the Vacuum leak detector in my NA-1DX. These are the Nauticam recommended placement on the parts, so thought I'd share. Sorry for the crappy pics they were taken on the iPhone Untitled by ollytindall, on Flickr Untitled by ollytindall, on Flickr Untitled by ollytindall, on Flickr
  5. Thanks again Steve, I will give it a shot! I've currently got 2 normal arms and 2 Nauticam float arms, I was using the float arms next to the housing. But now I think I will switch them around and have the float arms outboard to get a bigger moment arm on their buoyancy.
  6. Hi Steve Thanks for the reply I'm using YS-D1's, will have a go at trying to balance it out with the strobes and see how that goes. Do you have to be careful about how far forward you place your strobes, as Im guessing I might need to move them quite far forward to balance it. Thanks Olly
  7. Hi everyone Currently shooting the Nauticam 8.5inch acrylic dome on the NA-1DX and it is very tail heavy i.e. it always tips up. I'm sure other people have this problem and was just wondering what solutions people had come up with to balance their rigs out. Thanks!
  8. Sorry for thread drift... Maybe a stupid question but has anyone noticed any difference in the buoyancy of their housing when using a vacuum?
  9. Hi Richard Were did you order the vacuum leak detector from? I contacted Nauticam USA and was told that they don't sell the leak detector to fit it yourself Thanks
  10. Hi Steve Thanks for the very kind words! I will definitely take your advice onboard and try it out next time, Im finding out very fast just how important it is to get close! Seeing as I have such good equipment mainly as I already owned most of it for topside stuff, I'm glad that I haven't embarrassed myself to much and have hopefully done it some justice haha
