  1. Are you still interested in buying a housing for a Canon S95? If so I have three housings, Canon, FIX and Recsea. The FIX housing has a 52F thread for a 52M to 67F adapter, so you can mount a 67 lens. Shipping from the US should be under $30 US. Thank you, Elias Paypal. email 68.elias@gmail.com
  2. Hi, I wanted to use a Nikkor zoom lens in my housing, no zoom ring was available, so I made my own with a gear belt. I wrapped the zoom ring with a rubber strip cut from an inner tube, taped it with 3M black electrical tape, and mounted the gear belt on it. The gear belt I cut with a sharp razor, on a bevel, and sliped the two ends togeth with thin wire (paper clip wire). I have used it for two seanns, made one for my dive buddy as well. Words fine The Ebay link for the gear belt is here. Good luck and great diving! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fotga-flexible-adjustable-gear-belt-ring-f-follow-focus-FF-46mm-to-110mm-0-8-mod-/171414983939?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27e9211503
  3. Hi Steve: I used to shoot a Canon S95, it was good for some shots, not so good for others, but I liked it a fair amount. I am at present looking forward to diving with my new Olympus TG3 with the PT 056 housing, The Backscatter web site has shots and videos taken with it that are really good, And the price and airplane weight are most reasonable.

  6. The Inon Z240 is the best, excellent choice. I have two with fiber optic connections, Using TosLink I made excellent cables, 2.2 mm diameter, nice and inexpensive. Best of luck !
  7. i have used point and shoot and dSLR cameras, and for all I have found that a tray with 2 handles is best. It is easy to make a tray out of ABS or Plexiglass plastic 1/4 inch sheet and two handles of Plexiglass 3/4 in rod or aluminum tube. The tools are simple, a sabresaw, hand drill and hack saw. The parts can be glued or screwed together with thin machine screws. The tray consists of a base plate for the housing, the two handles, and a top tray connecting the tops of the handles, so that the tray has a square outline. This top tray stabilizes the unit and carries ball mounts for the strobes and focus lamp. Even for my Nexus D7000 housing I made a two handle tray, it works fine. It is also important to use a safety lanyand from the housing to the BC, that way I can let the housing assembly hang loose when I need both hands to adjust weight belt or other equipment, or when I am doing a deco stop. For flotation I use PVC aircraft foam, AirCraft Spruce foam O1320-001, secured with cable ties or electric tape, it does not compress and my housing assembly has minimal negative buoyancy. Do It Yourself all the way, it is fun.

  14. Hi, I have a Nexus Nikon D7000 housing with 2 fiberoptic ports and a MP60 port, in excellent condition for sale. I just posted a classified a short time ago, here it is For sale – Nexus D7000 housing with two fiberoptic bulkheads and macro port (MP60-6) for the Nikon D7000 and 60Nexus D7000 housing with two fiberoptic bulkheads and macro port (MP60-6) for the Nikon D7000 and 60 mm macro or similar lens Excellent condition, never flooded, dived with for 12 days only. The housing is machined aluminum. The baked enamel finish has a few minor scratches. The buttons on this model of Nexus housing do not provide liveview or video. It works just fine for photography. I compared the Nexus with other housings and only the Subal housing at over twice the price is as easy to use. The light weight of the Nexus is a big advantage for air travel. The housing latches close securely for a water proof seal. The main O-ring, groove and mating surfaces are in perfect conditon. The standard view finder, monitor and control panel windows and the port lens are like new, with no scratches or blemishes. The optical bulkheads accept standard 2.2 mm and 4 mm o.d. fiberoptic cables such as Inon or TosLink. The buttons, knobs and shutter release work easily and smoothly. The included original accessories are the Nexus boxes, Nexus toolbox, printed Instruction Manual in Japanese (no English version is available but the housing controls are self-evident), mode control adapter, hex wrenches, silicon lubricant. Two standard ULCS ball mounts for the strobe arms are included. The Nexus housings are the lightest in weight and most reasonably priced dSLR housings available, and are difficult to come by. I can send detailed pictures. Shipping to the continental USA is free. Worldwide shipping is additional, via PayPal, to guarantee secure delivery. $ 1,989 US, Email: 68.elias@gmail.com

  17. Oceanic Greetings from Kraken de Mabini. Mabini is in the Flipines, SE from Manila about 2 to 5 hours drive, and is a lovely peninsula. It divides two gulfs, the Batangas from the Balayan Gulfs. Both gulfs and adjacent waters are peaceful and ideal for underwater photography from October through May. They are famous for the abundance of smaller life such as nudribranchs. The locals have realized the treasure at their doorstep and the area has amazingly good nature preservation. There is very little fishing, the boats are small and well behaved, and the place is quite a divers paradise. My interests are tropical diving, nudibranchs and flatworms, with still photography. I have recently moved from compact point & shoot to DSR photography. It is a long slow process. My hobby is designing and building accessories for the underwater housings and strobes. I have designed and built clamps for strobe arms, flip lens holders for 67 mm lenses, and trays for compact and dSLR housings. All of readily available plastics with small hand and power tools.
