  1. Jack, Any lessons or advice on this system would be greatly appreciated. Kent
  2. Jack, Those are some impressive images. I'm leaving tomorrow for Raja Ampat. I'll be using the camera and lenses you and I talked about last spring: the E-M1 Mk1 with Oly housing; the Oly PPO-E04 dome port with Oly 8mm FE PRO and Oly 7-14 PRO; the AOI macro port with Oly 60mm macro with Subsee +5 & +10 diopter. I shot a lot of images with dome port and Oly 7-14 PRO last September in Bonaire. I'm very pleased with the results Your images have added to my anticipation of Raja and what we might see. Cheers Kent
  3. Wira, I have the same setup EXCEPT the dome I have is the Oly PPO-E04. I haven't had any problems with the fit. Mine slides in and out okay. Sometimes gets a little hung up on the zoom gear. May be your Inon port has a smaller opening?? The PER-E01 is the correct length for the 7-14 lens. Kent
  4. Hey! I started with E-M1 and Oly housing with Zen mini-dome and 9-18. It was better than any other camera/lens used to date. Then I upgraded to the Oly 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO. Had to upgrade the port: PAD-EP08 adapter; PER-E01 extension ring; Oly glass dome PPO-E04. The results have been amazing! I also wanted to be able to use the Oly 8mm f/1.8 FE PRO. Just remove the extension ring and Voila! you're in! Of course now Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) has set in with the recently announced E-M1 MK II!! Kent
  5. I have the E-M1 with Oly PT-EP11 housing / Oly PAD-EP08 E-port adapter / PPO-E04 glass dome port (~176mm). Also, if you want to use the Oly 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO, you just add the Oly PER-E01 extension ring! Used them recently on a trip to Bonaire and was quite happy. My 2 cents... Kent
  6. Hello! I haven't used the AOI port. However, I am selling a Zen glass port & Oly 9-18mm lens. I used it twice and also used it with my Oly 60mm macro. Both lenses produced quality images with the port. If you're interested, please shoot me a message Cheers.
  7. I had the 14-42 (version 2) and replaced it with the Oly 9-18mm and Zen mini dome port (Oly housing). I thought the 9-18 was very nice. I've recently upgraded to the 7-14mm f2.8 PRO, so the 9-18 & Zen port are in need of a new owner...
  8. I can't speak to folks moving from MFT. I'm sure I'm the "odd man out" as I have the E-M1 with the Oly PT-EP11 housing. I found on the Oly Asia website, that Oly recommends using the E-series (non-MFT) glass dome port, PPO-E04 (176mm) (PAD-EP08 adapter req'd), the for the 8mm FE PRO. Also, use the same port & adapter with an extension ring (PER-E01, 26mm) for the 7-14 PRO. I do believe that Phil Rudin has posted about Nauticam housing/ports. But that's all I've seen. I'll be making a dive in late August, and will post feedback afterwards.
  9. I'm going to give it a try in September. Using the Oly 60mm macro & two 4000 lumen video lights. I don't see why it wouldn't work... Kent
  10. I have the same camera but the PT-EP06 (no L lights). I found a micro 4/3 Olympus 9-18mm on eBay for about $500-$600. Great lens! I also replaced the port with a domed port from Zen Underwater. It's the wa100ep. Here's the link on Reef Photo: http://reefphoto.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=80_126&products_id=4798
  11. Rev, I just went through what you're talking about. You'll need to unscrew one of the screws then insert and rotate, then reinsert the screw. Click on the Reef Photo link below to the Zen PA-EP08-EP. They have pictures and detailed instructions. cheers http://reefphoto.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6073
  12. I made the move to micro 4/3 last fall after reading posts on this forum, especially from Phil Rudin. From what I've read, I went with the Olympus OM-D E-M1. I'd prefer the Nauticam housing with the Zen 170mm n85ii dome port. This allows using the following Olympus m43 lenses: M.Zuiko 9-18mm, M.Zuiko 12-40mm 2.8 PRO, or the M.Zuiko 60mm Macro. But reality, cost, and the fact that I already had the 9-18mm lens and Zen 100mm port for the Olympus housing, led me to purchase the Olympus PT-EP11 housing. I also will use the 60mm macro with this port. It seems people are raving about the Sony A7 series and A6000. I'll bet there's some good info here on these systems as well. I, too, will be diving Bali/Komodo in September and am really excited to try out the new kit. Regards Kent Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. With my Inon strobes, there was an IR film that adhered to the camera flash to only let the IR light through to trigger the strobe via fiber optics Maybe stick that on the camera flash?? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
