  1. been to Hurghada several times and never had any issues to get a visa. Just follow the tips of Makar0n. In the new Hurghada Airport, there are several signs, that even say "visa costs you 25$", so there are almost no people left trying to sell you one at double pices... Never had any issues to even pay in Euro. The exchange rate may have not been the best, but if you don't have any $ left, it is not worth to exchange in advance from my point of view.
  2. very nice trip report and excellent pictures taken! Thanks a lot. Your report definitley makes me wanna go there
  3. i always use Nauticam lube on my sea&sea flash o-ring since 3 or 4 years now and never had any issue
  4. What about this one? You could aditionally learn some german with the "Digital Underwater Photographer"-Manual... http://www.ebay.de/itm/PADI-Specialty-Manual-Digital-U-W-Photography-WB-Slate-Deutsch-/171862578642
  5. Hey, I am selling an INON UWL-100 28AD in very good condition (like new) for 180€ (+ shipping) or best offer! Couldn't really use it on my housing because of vignetting with my lens type. I will add a free converter from M67 to INON AD. With that adapter you can easily mount/unmount the lens during your dive. Item is located in Germany, but can be shipped worldwide (but please check shipping cost to your country on dhl.de before) kind regards Benedikt

  9. i first looked on ebay.com, but now found out that it is (surprisingly) ebay.co.uk
  10. some very nice pics you posted here!
  11. MacBook Pro 15" Retina, MacBook Pro 13" Retina and calibrated Eizo 24" Monitor look very similar to each other from my point of view!
  12. i really like your pics in the flickr-album (and even marked one of them with "favorit" before I saw the link here), but I want to be honest: The picture you posted here is not the best in my opinion. It looks out of focus or like you have used a starlight filter. It's not easy to describe for me, cause the right words are missing in my englisch word pool. Shortly: I like the others more
  13. thx! yes it was at the cleaning station. A lot of other divers didn't have luck the days before and said it is very boring to lay down in the sand and wait for any mantas to pass by. We just went down and directly saw two mantas there. After a short time it was six mantas at the cleaning station staying for the whole dive. Guess we have been lucky Where did you stay?
  14. Hey! I'd like to share some b/w pictures I made with E-M10 and Panasonic 8mm Fisheye. It was our first encounter with manta rays and we have been very lucky to spent more than 30 mins in around 17m with this beautiful animals. I hope you enjoy! you can find more pictures (coloured) in this flickr album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/128809277@N07/sets/72157647105674043/
  15. Hey! Here you can find my first video of my first encounter with manta rays. Video was taken with OMD E-M10 and Panasonic 8mm Fisheye. Camera and lens are in a Nauticam Housing behind a 4.33" Nauticam dome. I hope you enjoy! regards Bene
  16. Lens with Ring attached: and then connected the zoom-gear of the 14-42EZ with it. It took some time to find out the right diameter. First I tried with more rubber and found out it was to tight, so the focus ring of the objective didn't move smooth. You can add more or less rubber to your structure depending on the diameter of your zoomring and how thin the drainpipe is. Everything works perfectly well in the housing, smooth focus with no problems so far. As allready told it could also be nicer, but that was not the goal for me at this first try. Have fun ;-)
  17. Hi! I just thought I should share how I build a focus-ring for my Panasonic 8mm Fisheye. Honestly I didn't build it completely new but just thought, why not build an adapter for the Zoomring I already have (I used the zoomring of the Olympus 14-42EZ because it is almost same diameter and of a simple structure. All I needed was: - The original Zoomring of the 14-42EZ (but I am sure there are a lot of others that will work the same way) - a short piece of drainpipe with 50mm diameter (little bigger or smaller will work as well, I used the connector part you can see in the picture for example with an exact outer diameter of 62mm) for 1.30€ - some shrinking hose 12->6mm I just cut of ca. 8mm of the drainpipe. I did it twice to make have one piece just for testing. Then I cut the pipe-ring and covered everything with the shrinking hose I just warmed everything with a hair drier to shrink the shrinking hose. Then I attached it to the lens.
  18. hi! Thanks a lot for your answers! When I asked this question I already had another test running. Before I did that test I had a clean of all O-rings and the housing (all O-Ring positions). When I came back from work yesterday the vacuum was still stable after 9hours. I don't know exactly what it was but there are three possibilities: - O-rings not clean - Vacuum ventile not completly closed ( possibly I didn't close it to the end, because I am careful: I have strong hands and after closed there often comes: broken ;-) - I just gave it a very light vacuum (finished directly after green light). It was warm in the evening when I closed it and ca. 5 degree Celsius colder in the morning. So maybe the pressure-difference was just a little to much (the light was orange NOT red, means a small loss of vacuum was detected, but not a complete loss) I have no idea what it was, but it is good to know your experiences to avoid any leak of the housing! As a result I will definitly go down with the housing, but without camera the first time Just to make this thread complete and make it even more interesting for others: How long before a dive do you normally prepare your housing? Nauticam says (for E-M10) at least 30mins. After what time do you "trust" your vacuum detection system?
  19. Hi! Just recieved a new Nauticam (NA-EM10) Housing with vacuum check. I pumped a vacuum (just until green light switched on, no extra pump) and left the housing overnight. 8-9hours later the yellow light was flashing. Now i am worried that the housing well be leaking. How long is a vacuum stable in your housing? regards Bene
  20. Hi! As written in the topic I am looking for a Nauticam 4.33" domeport (36132) for the Panasonic 8mm Fisheye. I would also use anything similar like ZEN DP 100. i am living in Europe. Open for our offers ;-)!
  21. Just bought a INON UWL 100 AD wetlens from hai07. Couldn't be more happy with the deal. I didn't need all stuff of his offer and even though he gave me a VERY fair price. Communication was top and he allready shipped the item BEFORE the money could have been on his bank account. Very trustful! Thanks a lot hai07!
  22. You are absolutely right about changing lenses, etc. It was just the plan for now and maybe try different lenses later. Not sure what is going to come in a year. I allready thought about the Sony RX100, but honestly I don't really "like" it. It is nothing that I could explain, but I am sure that I will always have the feeling of: "I should have bought/tested something else". I am not into 4K but it will be there in latest 2-3 years, so in my opinion 1080 is still okay but to be limited to 30p is a mess for a european... I was always hoping that Panasonic is going to announce its LX8, this could have been the perfect camera. But rumorwise it was always delayed. Now there is a rumor that they will announce the LX100 next week. This could really be the perfect camera, BUT I am leaving to Maledives end of October and I am pretty sure, there will be no housing until then... Anyways I will definitley wait until Photokina next week, before buying something. regards
