  1. Ikelite even sells anti reflection rings https://www.ikelite.com/collections/anti-reflection-rings I just got a permanent marker and marked the white letters on the rim. Trouble I have is mostly not the lettering on the lens, but the ikelite zoom ring.
  2. Ikelite ds 51s are great macro strobes. Same cool light temperature as the inons. The larger Ikelite's have a warmer light that will help in blue water and feature a circular tube. They are large indeed. I have made 3D print knob extensions for both ds51 and ds125/160/161.
  3. your old port will be a six inch port (those come with a hood for stray light), although there is a 'super wide port' from the film era that might be a bit wider without any hood. I dont think there are any numbers on the old ports. the Oring will be the same as newer ones, the port size has not changed. Orings for the housing will also still be available. I'm not sure if I would remove all the controls, unless you need the room inside. As for the vacuum : that might be worthwhile to beef the system up a bit: the 2 lock system will have a slight wobble, although that doesnt mean it will leak when wobbling (if that makes sense). I have jumped of boats with that port system (without vacuum), but I took care to minimise the force on the housing by leaving it on top of my head. My current housing has the 4 lock port system and I use a vacuum. I think there are 2 focus gears available, one is a bit thinner then the other. They are quite cheap and simple. https://www.ikelite.com/collections/zoom-gears(well there are more, but 2 are the main ones)
  4. Check the main page for a link to Erin Quigley's set of tutorials.
  5. Am I the only one to think a planned bankruptcy is highly immoral? Just to ditch personnel that might have worked there for years and are no longer needed without a proper leave package, and shake off some debtors and save some cash.
  6. No use underwater. There is a port as well. Above water, use a hood https://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2017/06/the-comprehensive-ranking-of-the-major-uv-filters-on-the-market/ https://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2016/12/front-element-lens-protection-revisited/
  7. Probably because it is a weekend, new year and poor German reading skills :-)
  8. I would have a read in the threads http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6199or http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16492 old(er), but very useful.
  9. here's your answer on the HSS (summary : no) https://www.ikelite.com/blogs/faq/common-questions-about-strobe-firing-ttl-and-sync-speeds
  10. no luck Matt ? DS 125's I bought of you are still going strong !
  11. If you look around at wetpixel articles there is a comparison of the 2 viewfinders by Alex Mustard. http://wetpixel.com/articles/thoughts-on-viewfinders-and-mini-review-nauticam-45-degree Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  12. Does it fit the tokina? The canon Tc Will only work with longer tele lenses Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  13. Canon 8-15mm as Tom mentioned Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  14. Does sound like an commercial add instead of real user experience. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  15. There must also be a function on the nikons for back button focus, if you use continuous focus and set that button to engage the af only when pressed it will be like a single focus lock when released. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  16. On canon dslr the mode is changed by one of the top buttons and one of the main wheels, not a separate switch Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  17. My accupacks are not ready to be upgraded but I bookmarked these. https://www.ebay.nl/itm/281272377843 there are similar items in other shops as well. I am sure you could ask the supplier to measure properly. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  18. Like this one? I shaved part of the top off because I had it attached to something. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  19. I am not familiar with the lens but if it is not a fisheye, you would want the larger dome. I am also unsure of how wide 18mm on a crop will be. I don't know how close you will get but 18mm rectangular is just not that wide. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  20. Most 45 degree viewfinders can be adapted to different housings. My inon 45 is on my second Ikelite housing but came with a nexus mount. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  21. And another tip. Use a wetsuit. I took my dry suit but would have been more mobile in a wetsuit. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  22. Ive been on the day tour, using the tokina 10-17mm and my canon 70d for the underwater bit. I used my wife's 50d for topside. https://flickr.com/photos/43659940@N00/sets/72157657954221343 You had to share water time as only six were allowed in the water at one time but at least 3 days will give you more chance. 23. I won't hurt to try it if it works for you. Quite a few people use the af on button for af only and disable af on the shutter. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  24. Ulcs do handles as well. I use only the shutter and the AF lock with my hand on the handle. You could try to extend these controls with a little bit of aquarium tube or similar. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
