  1. I am on full frame (canon 5D Mark IV), with an 8 inch dome port (I think that is ~ 200 mm). And looking at ebay, I can sell the 17-40 for $350-400, and get the 16-35 used for f/4 for $700-750. Interesting thing, 16-35 f/2.8 Mark II is about the same price ($700-$800). I will probably sit on this for a bit, I have no immediate need, and there is no shockingly wide difference in image quality that warrants doling out the money yet. Thanks @ChrisRoss
  2. This has been sold. thank you all!
  3. Hello! Any advice on the camera settings, positioning, time of day, specific gear/setup etc., to get the perfect sun burst? I managed to get a couple, but I will admit it was a function of good luck...
  4. Hey I just posted the listing in EBAY with pictures and more details (split over two listings), looks like if I ship through them it would be much cheaper. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153947446484https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153947326436
  5. Sure, UPS estimated shipping is around US$350.US$350.

I prefer to sell as a whole, or at least with extensions. But if I am unsuccessful I may just sell individual parts. How much are you offering for the lens? (USD)

  8. So currently I have a canon 17-40, you think I should just stick with it, save the cash and go diving instead?
  9. I know terra firma photographers sing the praises of the improvement of Canon 16-35 mm EF 1:2.8L USM Mark III over its predecessor, the Mark II (Which in and of itself was a great lens). But my question, given the substantial difference in cost, is there a substantial difference in quality when it comes to underwater photography? Should I save my money and go for the Mark II? Or would I regret not doling out this much extra on the Mark III?
  10. Bam! You got me at for the money you save, you could spend a week shooting at some exotic destination! I dont think that any of us got into uwphotography with an expectation that this would be a cheap endeavor; between chasing great dive locations and great photo gear, money was a lost cause from the get go. That said, as much I would love to get my hands on the MBZ of housings (and boy do I!), i am pretty content with a reliable and affordable VW!
  11. Hahaha! I do have a weakness for cheese I am currently using a Canon 6D. And in all honesty have not tried a Subal before, but have seen others use it, and i will concede it did look very solid in terms of build quality
  12. I am considering upgrading my gear to Nikon D850. And i always circle back to the same question, should I get the Subal housing or just stick with Ikelite? I like the ergonomics of the Subal, but that is almost double the cost of Ikelite. Is there more to Subal that justifies this investment? I have had ikelite the past four years, and funtionally it doesnt appear to be inferior to Subal. Any ideas/advice?
  13. Looking for a used 45 degree angled viewfinder, in good condition, for my Ikelite housing (6871.06) of my Canon 6D. Preferably Ikelite (6891.2), but ok with other compatible brands/models. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Buddy Pairing

Hey Guys! I was wondering if you can add a new forum to help with pairing UWP dive buddies. As an example, I am going diving in Dahab this July, and would be nice to find people who share my same diving UWP interests. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
