  4. Well that answers that... The GX7 is not compatible. and no i dont have the magnet unfortunately. Thanks for your help! Tom
  5. Hey Bnf-austin, Honestly im not sure - i'm guessing its on pre-flash. Can this be changed? ( i have no idea). This strobe does have 3 modes (1/2, full, and TTL) : i havent tested the TTL mode, but the 1/2 and full modes result are firing late. Any ideas how to set the adaptor, or set the strobe to slave? (Sorry i'm real new to this!) Tom
  6. Hey Bill, No i havnt contacted the manufacturer yet, strobe light is only detected where the camera is set to a long exposure time (around 1" + ) I'll send the manufacturer a message, Any other advice would be great! Tom
  7. Hey guys, So i have acquired an old pre digital strobe, and a digital adaptor. I have attached photos below - basically the strobe connects to the digital adaptor. When the normal flash from the camera (using a Panasonic GX7) fires, the adaptor senses the light and fires the strobe. Note this is not instantaneous. So the issue arises where the strobe fires and lights up the area, but it appears to fire too late. As such the photo is taken before the light from the strobe is activated. (but the strobe does fire, it just appears to fire after the shutter is finished). Any suggestions on how to make this work/ make it fire when it is required?? or is it possible to add a preflash to the camera? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tom

  9. Hi guys, Im looking to buy a housing of any make for the Panasonic GX7. Let me know if you have one you'd like to sell! Cheers Tom
  10. Thanks for your help guys, I am now trying to find a 7-14mm lens! (panny or olympus). Also nice video! (it still works here in australia).
  11. Thanks World.Explorer, I'm not really looking for a fisheye unfortunately as i'd like it to perform topside as well. Good luck selling it! Tom p.s. still looking for a 7-14mm M43 lens!
  12. Bump, still looking for either lens. Note preference has changed due to the Panasonic's smaller size (smaller port)
  13. Hi Thanks for your reply! Those trips sound incredible! How much are you thinking of selling your set up for?
  14. Hey Guys! I'm into underwater video (currently own a panasonic GX7), and im looking to buy a new lens but not quite sure what to get. Everyone seems to recommend either the olympus/panasonic 7-14mm lenses, or the olympus 9-18mm lens. Could anyone share some advice as to the difference in underwater videos (even stills) between the 7-14mm and 9-18mm lenses? Thanks in advance!
  15. Hey Guys! Looking to buy either an Olympus or a Panasonic 7-14mm Lens for my micro 4/3 camera. I will prefer the Olympus, but the Panasonics are also more than fine! Send me a reasonable offer if you're interested! Tom
  16. Hey guys Just another query on lenses: do any of those have power zoom features?/ is it recommended to go for a power zoom lens? just thinking it'l save buying a zoom ring.
  17. Guys thanks for your input! (unfortunately the backscatter deal has ended! i've also already got the GX7 ) The UW lens advice will definitely be helpful! If im going to have to buy a port now, its probably better to upgrade my lens now and only buy a singular port! I do actually own a strobe, lights, and arms ect coming off my old compact camera. Thanks for that, i was leaning towards nauticam as i've very recently heard some criticisms of Ikelite housings. Cheers guys!
  18. Thanks for your reply, It is a shame that the GX7 doesnt have 4k video/stabilisation. I definitely would rather a GX80ect however i am trying to find a second hand housing (to save a little more$), and as the GX8 housings were released this month i seriously doubt i'd find a good deal anywhere soon. There are far too many options for this expensive hobby haha. I will probably end up investing at least in a new lens that offers stabilisation for video (again no idea which one..). 4K i feel would be nice but again you're sacrificing 30fps that you could get in 1080p.
  19. Hey guys, I currently own a Panasonic GX7 with the kit 14-42mm lens (H-FS1442A). I am looking to buy everything i need to take it underwater! This includes a new lens if required. If you dont want to sell your lens ( i understand!) please send a description of what lens you use/ recommend with the port you're selling). I'm not 100% on what i need tbh.. but a housing, required ports, (prefer a dome but not required), and any recommended lens. (I own arms/ strobes ect so i dont need them). Also does anyone have the kit lens 14-42mm above? how does it perform underwater? Send me what you've got! (if you are selling a complete kit with a mirrorless camera feel free to post it up, maybe ill sell my current camera) Note i do not want arms/strobes/lights as i already own them. Thanks guys!
  20. Hey guys, I currently own a Panasonic Lumix GX7 Micro four thirds camera with the kit 14-42mm lens (H-FS1422A) and i would love to take it underwater! On another note, if you think you have any gear (as per my questions below) that you'd like to sell i am interested! Unfortunately i'm just moving into the interchangeable lens class of camera and dont know much about lenses/ performance/ ports required for housings, so i have a heap of questions! (sorry!), and guys thanks in advance! 1. Can the kit lens H-FS1422A be taken underwater? - i have read somewhere that only the older model of this lens (H-FS014042) will fit in a housing port? 2. Does anyone actually know how the kit 14-42mm g vario lens performs underwater? (The kit lens) 3. Can anyone recommend a more suitable lens for underwater use - around $200-300 second hand? - I am very into underwater video, and i typically shoot medium to larger subjects. I'm not much of a macro shooter (although i do enjoy shooting the odd Nemo, and it may be nice to get into it later on..) 4. Onto the particulars of an underwater housing.. i have done a bit of research, and im still slightly confused as to everything i actually need to get my camera underwater. Can anyone recommend a housing/ ports/ zoom cogs ect (i think im leaning towards dome rather than flat port) for my GX7 with either the current 14-42 kit lens (H-FS1422A) or a lens recommended above? - If i do decide to go a dome port, do i need to buy the port and then the dome which attaches to the port?, or is it literally a dome port? - I've had a look and if possible i think i'd prefer an Ikelite housing (as theyre cheaper), but again that raises countless questions as to lens compatibility (as per my first question haha). If not i will go for the Nauticam (i understand they are of a much higher quality, but $$). Guys thanks in advance! And again if you do own a housing/ports i am interested. (Please note if you do wish to sell me something please tell me what else i will need to actually get it to work!) Hope to see you all floating around. Tom
