  1. Nice shots! Hey I remember you, we stayed in the same cabin last year. Looks like the visibility is much better this time?
  2. Below is the setup I have, I have used only once, they are in like new condition. Complete Sony W7 package: Complete Sony MPK-WA Marine Pack Housing for W7 Now this is really a killer lens, I love it. 3. I am going on Turks and Caicos Aggressor. I checked their FAQ and here's what they've stated: http://www.aggressor.com/faqs.php?d=6 11. Is it customary to offer a crew gratuity? As in any service oriented business, gratuities are customary and voluntary. From past experience, many guests have offered gratuities based on the total cost of the charter. Satisfied passengers who believe they have been provided with a very good service have left generous gratuities of ten percent (10%) of the charter price. Average tips are in the five percent (5%) range. The Captain will have an envelope available when settling the tabs for on-board services or purchases. Gratuities may be by cash, credit cards, traveler’s checks or personal checks. All gratuities are shared equally. --------------- Looks like people on Wetpixel are very generous.
  4. I am going on my first live board trip and I was wondering what is the typical tip for the crew at end of trip? Thanks.
  5. Does anyone know if Aggressor office will notify me after I fax in their "Application Liability Waiver" and deposit? Thanks.
  6. Can anyone recommend some good operators for Silver Banks? Thanks.
  7. bump, I have the same question. BTW the visibility doesn't look good at Silver Bank?
  8. Can anyone tell me why the shark there doesn't bite?
  9. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1732439.htm Steve Irwin dead The naturalist and television star Steve Irwin has died in a diving accident in far north Queensland. He was 44. Police say he was stung through the heart by a stingray while diving off Port Douglas. He was filming a documentary when the accident occurred around midday AEST near the Low Isles. A helicopter arrived with paramedics on board to try to resuscitate him, but it was too late. Irwin's body is being taken to the morgue in Cairns. His family are believed to be flying from Brisbane to Cairns this afternoon. Irwin, who was was born in Victoria in 1962, inherited his love of reptiles from his father. His father Bob was a keen reptile enthusiast and moved the family to Queensland in 1970 to open a small reptile park on the Sunshine Coast. Irwin took over the family business in 1991 and grew it into Australia Zoo. In 1992 he ventured into television, making the first series of the Crocodile Hunter. When the program aired in the United States, he shot to international fame. Irwin is survived by his wife Terri and two children.
  10. These were taken last week in Holbox, Mexico.
  11. Which color tone do you prefer? Some how I think the blue one has more "deep sea" feel to it.
  12. I am planning to go to Bahamas however I get sea sick easily. A few month ago I went to Galapagos and I was throwing up all the time, the guide told me it's acutally calm season. So is Bahamas pretty much the same?
  13. Why not? Even my old Sony F717 have housing.
  14. I have another question: Is it possible to avoid the "dark corner"?
  15. I don't have wide angle lens but the fisheye lens is awesome, definitely recommended. I did a quick test in teh bathtub and you can clearly see the difference. Without: With:
  16. I will try to explain my problem with pictures, any help is appreciated. I have a Sony MPK-WA housing: I bought a Inon AD Mount Base for MPK-WA on left, but as you can see the shape doesn't match. So when I attach the mount base to the housing there's a "gap". And when I attach the fisheye lens the water will go inside the mount. Is this the way it's suppose to be? Please help!
  17. Wow nice, I am going to order one.
  18. Here are two more photos taken at the same place, one with tons of "dots" and one without.
  19. Thanks guys, I should have explained better. This was NOT taken with any flash, and this was in open water (Galapagos). Below is another photo in the same place (almost same time) but there're no "dots" (backscatter?) in the picture. Could the stirring of water particles by the sea lion caused this? Since they are playing like crazy and the water is murky. Thanks!
  20. There're many "dots" on this photo, what is causing this and how can I prevent it? Thanks!
