  2. 9 nights and 7.5 days diving Milne Bay and the southern islands of Conflict Islands and the Engineer Islands on the refurbished Spirit of Niugini. Lower deck cabins $2645 USD per person sharing, main deck cabins $3600 USD pp sharing. http://www.bestofpng.com/pages/png-liveaboards/spirit-of-niugini/spirit-of-niugini-southern-islands-special.php This itinerary has an excellent combination of pelagic dive sites with schooling barracudas, jacks, reef sharks, surgeonfish, batfish and more; amazing corals, both soft and hard, untouched by bleaching, fantastic macro with more cool critters than I can list here, including bargibanti and denise pygmy seahorses, wunderpus, mimic octopus, numerous frogfish species, lacy scorpionfish (Rhinopias aphanes), shrimps galore, and also the famous "walking" epaulette sharks (Milne Bay and Papuan); and manta cleaning stations. We will also have a couple of trips ashore. Ties in with the superb Goroka Highlands Cultural Festival before hand.
  3. We have five spots left on an escorted Sardine Run trip. The escort (me) has been diving in South Africa for 13 years and lived there for 2 years. We run this trip well away from Port St John's, ensuring that we maximise the chances of seeing a bait ball and have no chance of seeing the now-far-too-common boat ball. We only have two boats on site, the nearest other launch site is over10 kilometres away, so there will only be our two boats in the area. Launches are easy from our site too. I am a well-published UW photojournalist, and have been working for dive magazines since 2007. I provide UW photography coaching on the boat and at the lodge after the day's fun on the water is over. We have two versions available: Sardine Run: from, 6 nights, 26450 Rand, approximately $2015 6 nights and 5 days. Witness the greatest predation show on earth with thousands of sharks, dolphins, sea birds and whales. Location near Hole-in-the-Wall, away from the other boats. includes transfers from/to Umthatha airport. Click on the link for details. http://wetu.com/Itinerary/landing/11bf32da-c5e8-b761-b6c9-658907e03491 Escorted Sardine Run, 9 nights. 19 June to 28 June, 32400 ZAR, approximately $2495 6 nights and 5 days Sardine Run action on the Wild Coast and 3 nights and 2 days’ shark diving at Aliwal Shoal. Witness the greatest predation show on earth with thousands of sharks, dolphins, sea birds and whales away from the other boats followed by 2 days shark diving at Aliwal Shoal in KwaZulu-Natal. Includes all road transfers from arrival at Umthatha airport to drop off at Durban airport. Click on the link for details. http://wetu.com/Itinerary/Landing/5C26F6B5-E2D5-959C-080F-4633BA558EC4
  4. Hi, My name is Christopher and I am addicted to salted caramel ice cream. I fund my addiction by organising photography trips, mainly underwater but also cultural and birding trips in Papua New Guinea and wildlife tours in Africa. I used to write about all sorts of rubbish for FHM magazine, started diving in 2004, started UW photography with a 2 Megapixel Canon compact in 2005, and had my first dive travel articles and images published in 2007 in Diver in the UK. I've had UW articles published all over the place since, had half-a-dozen cover shots too, and still have 4 to 8 new articles published a year. The whole tour thing has got a bit out of hand and I now run Indigo Safaris, a dive and safari travel specialist organising tailor-made private trips as well as group trips, and Best of Papua New Guinea, which does the same in the most diverse country on the planet (UW variety not counted but i suspect as good as Raja Ampat, if not better, 1,000 different languages for 7 million inhabitants and the mst autentic cultural festival on the planet, 781 bird species, 31 species of bird of paradise, 12 species of which are unique to PNG).
