  1. Hello Marcus, I do the white balance with the red filters on and ambient light. And if you need to use the lights and if you have the red filters on then I would also use the blue filters on the lights and white balance again. It's not as good as cannons below 40ft but the red filter helps a lot.
  2. Not the best pic but it’s the one on the right. I’ll be taking it to Bali next week so if you need more pics i’ll take some then. As i’d need to rebuild it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Haha, they were hefty but couldn't be happier. Now i'm looking for some a good macro video light that I can snoot with.
  4. Got the 13,000 lumen 92 cri with spectrum and ambient filters. (Filters only to compensate for my sony a6500 poor white balance) otherwise couldn’t be happier with them. I used sola f2000’s before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Great video! And nice color. Did you slow down any shots shot in 4k 60p? Did you use zoom in any of the thresher shots or reef fish? Or was ISO high in any of those shots? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Are these the EOShd settings? Thanks! A+6, M+6 is Ambar +6, Magenta +6 at the BIAS square "Dont think Keldan filters are optical grade GLASS filters. Anyway whe you put on the blue filter to your torche you will loose like 30-40% of light. And you loose an other 30% of light with red filter on your camera. Dont think is a good deal, but maybe Im wrong..." This is what I also thought and read about it before getting them. However I just had to give it a try. It does take away a good portion of the light but for subjects within 12ft they fine when I cranked up the intensity to full since they have 13,000 lumens anyways. That way i'm not stuck with having to decide wether to have just red filters or lights but can actually use them both on a single dive.
  7. Sorry but what's "A+6, M+6"? Since magic filter is +2000k does that mean that you can make the manual white balance less by 2000k? ie: if Custom white balance is set at 9,900k with the filters then you can manually adjust it to 7,900k? So it won't be too red. Did you see his video with the EOShd and red filters? To me it looks good enough. https://youtu.be/5m2X1d4PHRs I wonder if Keldan's spectrum filters are glass optical quality. Seems to be a better quality than the magic filter gels.
  8. Hello just want to update that I was able to get the Keldan's (13,000 lumens 92cri) with red lens filters and ambient filter gels for the lights. I was quite happy with the results. Here's the video from our blog. The mantas are shot with the red filters and ambient light while the grey reef shark getting cleaned did not have the filters. Both were at the same dive site German Channel. Slightly deeper for the shark but still you can see the difference. Both were graded using the standard tools from FCPX. The rest of the blog is on our site: https://briananddonna.com/about/palau2018/ Next I want to try out the suggestions here. (https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4188494) And upon some suggestions to work on manually changing some white balance settings, picture profiles and saturation/de saturation for wide and macro. Once I get to try those out including the settings from EOSHD. I can update here if anyone is interested.
  9. I got the Keldans with the filters and was able to give it a test run in Palau. Was quite happy with the results actually. Next I want to try out the suggestions here. (https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4188494) Have you tried manually correcting your white Balance? Specially for wide angle shots of subjects 20ft away. Here's the video from our blog. The mantas are shot with the red filters and ambient light while the grey reef shark getting cleaned did not have the filters. Both were at the same dive site. Slightly deeper for the shark but still you can see the difference. Both were graded using the standard tools from FCPX. 10. Laval have you tried yours on a dive yet? How was it? Mine just arrived and will take them to Palau on Jan 24.
  11. Ordered the new keldan 8x’s with filters. We’ll see how they work out.
  12. I’m based in the philippines and they have friendly laws here for manufacturing for export you might want to check it out. I’m looking for something like a kraken but with the quality of a Keldan. Hope you get to continue your project.
  13. Nice! Just ordered my 501 as well. Did you find any deals? Any plans to flip it upside down? That feels like it would smack me in the face being that high hehe. What applications do you have in mind for a surface feed?
  14. Thanks Bub, I was planning on getting the new 2018 filters which are supposedly less scratch prone. Did you find any good use for them or try them with the red spectrum filters from Keldan?
  15. Thanks Drei me and my wife are thinking of going to Indonesia either this May or August. Perhaps leaning towards August so we can chance on the Molax2's in Nusa Penida as well. We're just doing it as a hobby and would not want to turn it into work =) This would work well for us as she does photo and I do video. Our blog is here briananddonna.com we're based in Cebu, Philippines so if you plan to be in our neck of the woods let us know. Please pm me your rates for the workshops.
