  1. what settings are you shooting on? post the camera settings such as shutter speed, aperture etc. under the above images so we can have a look... Strobes would be a massive help, but it also looks like there's a lot of ambient light. Also - any chance you're fogging up before going in the water?
  2. Here's another reference to a different 3d printed version which I've been using for months without fail in cold water: http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58769
  3. I haven't got any experience with them, but the Fantasea/AOI UWL 09F doesn't look too bad at $450 less, although, obviously the Nauticam is better build quality, the specs seem matched for the most part. Here's a review you can send his way: https://www.bluewaterphotostore.com/uwl09-review-and-tests They also released a "Pro" version now which has a Glass dome instead of the Acrylic on the standard version (but then it becomes more expensive than the Nauticam) http://www.fantasea.com/s.nl/it.A/id.790/.f
  4. I'm a full advocate of get your best bang-for-buck and I find it hard to beat the G7Xii packages out there... I shoot with a Fantasea or Ikelite housing and find they fit the purpose perfectly. I only shoot with 1x Inon Z-240 and find it gives me a decent amount of light (I got it on the cheap - so no complaints) and I only recently (last 2 months got a Fantasea ucl-09 Macro lens) You can see instagram for some reference images: https://www.instagram.com/divealot_za/ and here's one of my favorite ever with no lenses And here's some nice macro with the lens:
  5. Why not stick with canon and get the G7Xii ? I shoot with Fantasea and Ikelite housings and they're both fine - the ikelite doesn't have a toggle for the flash so you need to raise it before putting it in the housing. They both accept wet lenses which are nice (Fantasea makes great ones too) I also shoot with one Inon Z-240 which I picked up with a pelican case at a steal for around $300. I just take my gear as carry-on luggage as it's never that bulky or heavy and all fits in the peli case... I would recommend that whatever you end up buying, try get it asap and get in the water so you can have decent shots by the time you get to indo
  6. $2200 Did Black Friday come early? Would scoop this up in a heartbeat if you were close
  7. Nice video, how do you find the quality? Looks pretty decent to me - how was the viz? And did you use Hypersmooth? and filters? I'll be testing one out in 3 weeks, so far I've only had it above water and I'm pretty happy with it.
  8. So I thought this was pretty cool, We did a night dive last night and I took a few nice snaps of some Octopii etc. I also took these snaps of a crayfish (that's what we call them here) but it's a "Saltwater spiny lobster" to others Anyway whilst post-processing I looked closer and saw him eating what I believe is a Pipefish, I really had no clue at all while taking the photos...
