Sony VX2100 + Sea & Sea Underwater Housing For Sale
bayondai replied to bayondai's topic in Classifieds
I just sold the camera, but the Sea & Sea VX-2100 PRO underwater housing is still available. I am looking for $1200 or BO shipped. http://www.seaandsea.jp/products/video/vx2100pro/index.html Please email me with any questions. Thanks, Mike mheinzer@yahoo.com -
I am selling my Sony DCR-VX2100 and my Sea & Sea VX-2100 PRO underwater housing. They are in great shape and the camera has very low hours. I have all of the manuals for both the camera and the housing. The Sea & Sea housing has the 2.5-inch color monitor model [07106]. This is a perfect combo for making underwater videos at a cheap price. I have never needed any lights for this setup since the VX2100 needs very little light to capture great footage. Here is a link to the info on the underwater housing: http://www.seaandsea.jp/products/video/vx2100pro/index.html and here is a link to the sony VX2100: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...ductId=11039901 I am looking for $3200 + shipping for this setup. Please email me with any questions. Thanks, Mike mheinzer@yahoo.com

Thanks everybody. The intro was made in 3d max 8. This is my second dive video I have ever made so any input is good. I am hoping to go somewhere by the end of the year so I will try out some of your suggestions shawnh. I forgot how strong the currents are in cozumel. I haven't been there in a few years. It was real hard to get steady shots. Mike

I finally got around to edit my video from Cozumel from June 06.... I used a few differnt compressors. The H264 version looks and sounds the best, but it is pretty big, around 60 mb. The wmv and mp4 look ok and their file size is much smaller around 15mb. Let me know what you think. What type of BC is everyone using when you shoot your videos? I am using an older mares bc which I hate for several reasons and I use force fins. Is there a BC that helps out in anyway or just anything will do? Mike

Thanks for the advise David. Mike

Thanks ronrosa. I liked your macro shots of some of the shrimp. My camera is pretty much neutrally boyant below 33 feet. I found that when I am swimming and shooting like around the small wreck on my video the camera moves from side to side even if I think it is. If I am breathing real slow to the point of almost holding my breath. When I do that I go up and so does the camera. If I sink myself to the sand bottom I am fine, but if I am over a reef I don't want to stand or lay in the coral for obvious reasons. I am more than likely going to cozumel at the end of the month and I would love to pick up some pointers especially in shooting while drift diving. Mike

I am also new to shooting video underwater... How do you keep the camera real steady? Do you sink yourself to the bottom? I found that if you are swimming the camera shakes even if you don't think it is. I am using a sea&sea vx-2100 pro housing with a sony vx-2100 camera. My video is attached at the bottom. The wmv file is around 20mb and the quicktime is around 40mb. Let me know what you think. Mike

Here it is using the On2 codec. It is now 13 mb. I have a real fast connection, so it is hard to tell if it is streaming. http://www.bayondaidesigns.com/images/GrandCaymanOn2.mov Mike -
shawnh, How big is your housing? Do you think a Sea & Sea VX-2100 Pro housing will fit the Voyage 65L? The dimensions are 13.5 x 9.5 x 16. Mike

I have after effects and final cut if you think it would compress better from one of those programs. Mike -

I opened the old movie in quicktime pro and exported it right out from there. -

Wow... I just used that codec and made the video size smaller, video and audio quality less, but the file size went up to 77mb! What am I doing wrong? -

Cool. I'll try the On2 codec and post the results here. Mike
