  8. Oh that's good to know, never heard of Zen before - I'll look them up. Makes sense about the housing being used for students. If you need more cameras for your students, I'll be selling my D70 housing with two bodies. Have a few ports available for it. Make me an offer if you're interested. I rather see it used than collecting dust. J.C.
  9. Two strobe Ikelite connector cable. Brand new in the box. Was part of my spares and never used. Just want someone to get some use out of it. This is the discontinued version of the cable: https://www.ikelite.com/products/sync-cord-two-ikelite-strobes-to-ikelite-bulkhead $75 or best offer. You cover shipping costs.
  10. Thanks for the feedback AZ - my first two setups were both Ikelite and I was extremely happy with them, particularly the strobes. I guess one consideration for me is ports, and the fact that Ikelite doesn't have a true glass port, specially for WA applications. But cost is still a major consideration for me. Let me know if you decide to move to your D850 and want to sell your 7200 housing
  11. Gorgeous photos of the manatees Carol. Yes I'm interested in the housing, just need to educate myself regarding ports and how to make the strobes work - prefer if I can work using TTL, at least at first. I will PM you. Dave - thanks for the insight - can you point me to a source where I can educate myself about the Optical adapters? Thx
  12. Thanks Dave - good idea on posting the WTB. Some of my lenses are DX, ncluding my preferred WA, so not ready to migrate to a full frame camera at this time. Ikelite still offers the 7200 housing new - it didn't occur to me that other housing manufacturer's might have discontinued theirs by now. Food for thought and more research for me to do there. How's integration of Ikelite strobes with other housings? I really like their strobes. Thx!
  13. Hello everyone, Former active member here who's been out fo the game for a few years. Used to shoot with a Nikon D70 in an Ikelite housing with dual Ikelite 125 strobes. I'm putting a new rig together and hoping to get back in the water soon. Decided on the D7200 camera because you can get them at a great price these days, so easy to have a spare. Coming form the D70 it is still a huge upgrade for me. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to stay with the Ikelite housing and strobes, or if I shoudl consider something else. Intend to shoot both macro and wide angle. Thx!

  18. Life has been getting in the way and I have not been using my beloved UW photo kit, so I rather someone gets it in the water rather than having collect dust. The kit is completely turn key and you could get it in the water right away for both WA and Macro shooting. I'm also including some extra lenses mainly suited for above water shooting. Easily upgradable to a newer camera/housing with minimal cost. Here's everything I would include: 1 Nikon D70s Camera body 1 Nikon D70 Camera body 4 Rechargeable batteries for cameras 2 Nikon battery chargers 1 Nikon AF-S 18-70mm lens 1 Nikon AF Micro 60mm lens (macro) 1 Nikon AF-S 12-24mm lens (wide angle zoom) 1 Nikon AF 70-200mm lens (telephoto zoom) 1 Ikelite Hosing for D70/D70s with TTL control 1 Ikelite Tray and dual handles for camera housing 1 Ikelite 8” Dome port for wide-angle lens 1 Ikelite Flat port for macro lens 2 Ikelite DS-125 strobes with modeling light 4 Ikelite rechargeable batteries for DS-125 strobes 1 Ikelite smart charger for DS 125 batteries 2 Ikelite 3” quick release handle mount for strobe arms 2 Ikelite 6” strobe arms 2 Ultralight 8” strobe arms 6 Ultralight arm clamps 2 Ikelite dual cords for strobes (one new spare in box) 1 Ikelite single cord for strobes 1 Storm (Pelican) im2950 case with wheels includes padded dividers and utility organizer 1 Lowepro camera backpack with bottom camera & case compartment and separate laptop compartment Many, many, many accessories including diffusers, spare parts, cleaning kits and various lens filters Everything is in good working order and really good condition. One of the tray arms and strobe mounts are stuck together but it doesn't affect functionality at all. I will sell the entire kit for $2500. I'd prefer not to separate the parts and pieces, but I will entertain offers. I've included some sample shots taken with this setup. Pictures of the kit available upon request (just being lacy), just PM me. Thanks, J.C.
  19. Oh No! Sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing too, I don't think I've taken mine past 20 feet or so. Good to know
  20. I took these with the 770SW during a recent trip to Roatan. We were looking for Whale Sharks (didn't find any ) and we ran into a pod of dolphins. Instead of grabbing my big rig right away, I just jumped in with this little camera and got some shots of them. Later on my buddy took one of me and the big camera too. I have to say i totally love this little camera, is great for everyday snapshots and perfect for boat, snorkeling, hiking, etc. It is so tough I have no reservations letting my three year old play with it FYI - shots have been color corrected and two of them are crops, but no major editing. Also, there was a lot of krill in the water.
  21. Here's a review of all the available (nikon mount) wide digital zooms: Wide Zooms
