  1. I've had this ad in now for a while - let's face it, I need to get it sold. http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34402 Asking $1100 for the complete DSLR kit - camera, 18-55 lens, Ikelite housing (mint) with dome (mint) and flat port, Epoque strobe+arm. If I may say so myself this is a total bargain... The 8 Mp sensor of the 350D/XT is excellent - in terms of quality and speed this kit is superior to any digital compact solution. I published several pictures (full page) taken with my old 4 Mp Olympus - the image quality you get out of this kit is totally superior to that. Will gladly send some full-res pictures. This is a dirt cheap entry into UW DSLR photography. The included dome also works with the Tokina 10-17, and with better strobes the housing provides the full TLL support so there are obvious upgrade paths. Spread the word... Reason for selling: getting a telephoto lens for bird photography and don't dive frequently these days. Will sell without camera.
  2. Alright, learned a new acronym there. I would consider selling these items separately: flat port, housing+dome, strobe+arm+sync cord, camera, housing without dome (in that case, dome would be sold separately after that! ) Sorry for a slight deviation from the original topic.
  3. I think he wants a complete setup? In any case : would you be interested in just the flat port? Would prefer to sell the housing+dome together... Best, Erik
  4. http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34402 check out this thread. The 350d takes excellent pictures, I can send you some hi res files if you want. The price is probably hard to beat for a complete dslr uw setup. Erik
  5. This setup is still here! I am willing to lower the price a little bit - can also consider selling parts separately. /Erik
  6. i have a similar camera/housing kit for sale at a good price, if someone is interested: http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34402
  7. Selling my Canon EOS-350D (XT) with an Ikelite housing. Housing/ports only used during one week-long trip and can practically be considered as new. Scroll down for pictures! * Ikelite eTTL2 housing #6871.35 with double handle tray. Two ports, also like new: * 5503 6'' dome: Fits Canon 18-55, 15 FE, 20, 24, Tokina 10-17 FE, Sigma 15 FE etc * 5502 flat: 18-55, EF-S 60 macro etc Ports are in their original boxes and all accessories are included, zoom gears etc. * Strobe, Epoque ES-150DS * Ball link strobe arm + attachment bracket for housing * Fiberoptic sync cord, diffusor This is a basic slave strobe without TTL, but gives nice results (I've used it for all pictures on my website, below). * Canon EOS-350D, charger (european connector but accepts all voltages), USB cable, 1 GB memory card (~110 RAW images) * 18-55 lens Camera has some signs of use but is in good condition. You might notice on the pictures below that the eyepiece is missing - will ship with eyepiece! Suggesting $1400 for everything - will be sold to best offer. Located in New York. Some pictures taken with this exact setup (mostly 18-55 kit lens - some with EF-S 60mm): http://www.erikjlarsson.com/browse_en.php?...ue=egypten_2007 Pictures of the equipment (more on request): PS: had an ad in earlier without the camera and without pictures
  8. Hi, in contrast to the housing, you can tell the camera is not new. It's in good condition though and is working perfectly. Suggesting $1400 including the 18-55 lens (most of the pictures on the link above were taken with that lens). USB cable and charger will be included of course - please note that the charger has a european connector, although it accepts any voltage. A 1 GB compact flash card could also be included (about 110 raw images). So to summarize that would include housing, two ports, epoque strobe+sync cord+strobe arm+diffusor, camera and lens. The Epoque is a basic slave-type strobe without TTL, but it's a lot less costly than e.g. the Ikelite alternative and you can take good pictures with it (I've used it for all the pictures on my homepage).
  9. The stuff is still here! I think this is a great deal - but might be _some_ room for negotiation. Could consider bundling it with the camera as well - would make for a cost efficient underwater DSLR solution!

  13. Hi! Do you still have the 5503.51? /Erik
  14. I guess this port was sold ages ago?? I'm looking for a used 5503.51 so if anyone else sees this... /Erik
  15. Please observe that I've tried to show the front lens at its very worst on the linked picture, it normally isn't that obvious unless viewed from certain angles againt the light! And it takes good pictures. /E
  16. Selling my old but still very functional setup: Olympus C-4040Z camera (4 Mp, in good condition) PT-010 housing Epoque DCL-20 wide angle lens, 67 mm Tray Housing in good shape, no scratches on glass. Front coating on the wide angle lens (Epoque) is a bit stained, however I have not noticed any difference in image quality. Camera works flawlessly. Two 128 MB memory cards can be included as well (each holds about 110 pictures in highest quality). More pictures of the gear: http://www.erikjlarsson.com/album/uvkamera/album/ Located in Sweden. May ship worldwide, buyer pays postage. Please give me an offer! PS. For pictures taken with this camera, see www.erikjlarsson.com. (many of them uses an external flash, which is not for sale).
  17. Hmm... So many things to think about. If only I could talk to the diver, and somehow freeze the tuna and... Thanks.
  18. I don't mind at all, it looks really nice, didn't even think about it myself. One problem could be to fill the corner with a natural blue gradient (or perhaps it was more of a suggestion on how to frame next time).
  19. Ok, I'll keep it blue and shoot with a smaller diver next time . Thanks a lot for your comments.
  20. I took this available light photo of yellowfin tuna and a diver at brothers islands a few weeks ago. I like it, even though there is no strobe on the foreground. But I can't really decide what to do with it. There is zero information in the red channel and converting to BW seems to be a common advice in those situations. But I think some of the atmosphere is somehow lost in BW. It is also possible the BW conversion could have been done better. Any opinions or suggestions? Perhaps keep it blue but change the "blues"?? Or perhaps it will never really become a good picture at all?? Show in RAW with 350D. Color version: BW, slight sepia tone.
  21. The last hammerhead shot is fantastic. You must have seen so much sharks, where did you see all the hammerheads? What this now in april? Nice pictures, i like the "kissing couple".
  22. There were lots of sharks! =) I didn't say lots of shark PICTURES - had to write something to draw some attention... It wasn't season for oceanics now, better in jan/feb I think. We did a few dives on Elphinstone where you would normally see them, but nothing. But there were lots of gray reefsharks at Little Brother, we say them on most dives, sometimes 5-6 at the same time. They seemed to gather at the south plateau at 30-40 meters. I was probably 4 meters away at the closest (the picture on the web is taken at 55 mm and only slightly cropped). I do have a bunch of pictures though, but since I was so far away they weren't worth showing to anyone...
  23. Thanks for your friendly comments! Hope to be able to put a wide angle lens on it soon, although the 18-55 was more useful than I thought. And I never got close enough to any sharks to have any use for anything wider either... Took a bunch of colourless gray reefshark pictures, most of them at 55 mm... /E
