  7. I have a Nexus D200 housing and I still have a nearly new Sea & Sea dome port lying around. I'm wondering whether anyone makes an adapter ring to fit the two together. Has anyone heard of such a thing? Erika.

  9. I would like to buy a housing for Nikon D200/Fuji S5 camera. Preferably Nexus. Please reply to this message if you're selling and we can get in contact. Erika.
  10. "The focus drive gear mounted inside the housing must be replaced with a smaller diameter gear to accommodate the larger lens gear. A new drive gear is also shown on Anthis webpage." Does anyone know whether this is also true for the Nexus D200 housing? Will I need to change the focus drive gear inside the Housing to accommodate the larger lens gear for the 105 VR lens? Erika.
  11. Hi, I'm buying the Nexus housing for my Nikon D200 camera and 105mm VR lens. I'm hearing that there's no focus switch knob s.m.c. on this housing. Is there any other way to get the camera to focus manually or at least keep the focus once it's done so the lens doesn't keep going back and forth all the time in low light conditions? Any ideas are welcome! Thanks, Erika.

  13. Hi Jing, Olympus sells something called "Clear Film" it doesn't come with the Inon cable at least I didn't get it with the cable. It's like a transparent black piece of film, comparable to photo film, this comes with a sticker with a hole in it slightly smaller than the film itself so you can use it to stick it over the top of the camera strobe. Stick it on the camera itself, not on the housing. This way the cable still recognizes there's a strobe signal, but no actual strobe light comes out of the camera, thus avoiding backscatter. I don't think it will make your pictures come out overexposed, that may be due to something else. If your pictures are overexposed, try using a diffuser on your strobe, that may take care of the problem.
  14. Thanks for the helpful explanations. I have no idea whether there's already a converter installed in the housing. I just ordered it from my local dealer and it will come here next week. I'm just lookig around to see what else I need to get/order. Does the Ikelite housing for the Canon D350 automatically have a converter installed? If yes, then I'll go for the Ikelite strobes like you recommended.
  15. I heard something about a Heinrichs converter, could that be installed in the Ikelite housing to allow for TTL compatibility with Inon strobes? Or did I get that totally wrong?
  16. If I buy the Inon Z240 for use with the Ikelite housing for Canon 350D will I be able to get TTL compatibility? Or can I only use Ikelite strobes? Which ones do you recommend with this housing? I want dual strobes.
  17. Can I use Inon strobe arms straight onto a Sea & Sea housing for Nikon D200 camera or will I need some adapters? If yes, which ones?
  18. I have a Nikon D200 with Sea & Sea housing and for what I understand I will be able to use either strobe in TTL mode. So which one is the better strobe???? Will I be able to use all functions of the Z240, such as focus light? Which is more powerful, more reliable, more sturdy or whatever other qualities you can find?
  19. I've been using the D2000 with C7070 in Olympus housing for more than a year now and find the easiest way to get best results is TTL mode. No magnet. Use the Inon optical cable D to connect the strobe to the front of the camera housing, right in front of the internel flash. Than use the Olympus clear film to cover the internal flash to avoid lighting up the whole housing when the internal flash fires, this avoids a lot of backscatter. If you use only 1 flash in macro mode, place it over the top of your camera. For best results use 2 strobes. (avoids harsh shadows) I use the old Inon D180S as a second strobe in manual mode, just to fill in the shadow areas.
  20. I'm thinking of buying the Canon Digital rebel XT with an Ikelite housing and would like to hear from anyone who uses this setup whether they are satisfied or would prefer to change to something else.
  21. I just bought this camera 1 month ago (20 July 2006)on insurance refund for a flooded Olympus camera, also bought an Ikelite housing for it, but decided to upgrade to a DSLR instead. So I now have for sale a brand new FUJI E900 camera with an Ikelite housing complete with adapter ring for Inon 67mm thread wetlenses and a fiber optic cable connector that allows for TTL connection of an Inon D2000 strobe, or manual strobe with any other strobe that can be connected through fiber optic cable. Everything is still under warranty. The Ikelite housing for another 11 months, the FUJI camera has an extended warranty of 3 years, still valid for 2 years and 11 months or so. I'll send the original invoices with the camera as well as the warranty cards. I would like at least 900 USD but will look at offers close to this price. I can email photos of the camera and housing to anyone interested. I will ship worldwide. Please send offers to csdiver@pd.jaring.my
  22. I was going to buy a Sea & Sea housing for my new D200 camera with the Nikkor 105mm VR lens. Now S&S told me there's no manual focus gear for this lens. Is it needed???? I'm totally new to DSLR but I see there's focus gear for nearly every other lens, so I wonder what the use is of this gear, is it really needed with any lens? it's quite expensive!
  23. Wow Tom, your pictures are amazing! You've convinced me, I'll go for the new lens Thanks to all of you for your very useful answers, it's always nice to hear so many opinions.
  24. Does anyone know whether Sea and Sea has a port for the Nikkor 105mm VR lens? I can't find it in their system chart.
