ATTENTION: UW PHOTOGRAPHERS going to Baja Mexico:
hiloboy replied to divrndeep's topic in Trip Reports and Travel
I just got back from a trip to Mag Bay. I flew into La Paz but did not have any problems because my first leg was from Oakland to Guadalajara where I cleared customs without incident. My flight from Guadalajara to La Paz was a domestic flight therefore I did not go through customs at La Paz. This is one work around to the problem. -
$500 each.

I am selling my Nauticam 7D housing and Canon 7D camera as I have switched to a Nauticam 7D mkii. The housing is in good condition. I bought the housing new from Backscatter in October 2010 and the housing had a complete overhaul by Nauticam in May 2015. The housing has a Leak Sentinel vacuum leak detector installed. The Canon 7D camera is in very good condition as it was just used in the housing. I have a spare 7D that I used as a backup/topside camera which I could sell separately. Price for the Nauticam 7D housing and Canon 7D is $2,000.

I found this "thing" a couple of millimeters in length in constant, erratic motion. Any idea what it is?

I was wondering what companies people are using to backup RAW images on the cloud.

WOW, 13 hours on a single charge with a Macbook air. I am happy if I can get 2 hours of processing done in lightroom with my 2 year old 15 inch Macbook Pro! -
"busy" error message on Canon 7D
hiloboy replied to hiloboy's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
Thanks Steve for the reply but I was not shooting in burst mode and even when the camera was firing without a problem, I was not shooting that quickly between shots. -
I shoot with a Canon 7D in a Nauticam housing. On my last trip, after about an hour of shooting approximately 200 shots without a problem, my camera slowed to a crawl and after each shot, I would need to wait about 4 seconds before I could take the next shot. During the wait, a "busy" message showed on the LCD screen. I was not shooting video and had my internal flash power lowered to 1/128. I was using a Lexar 16GB Platinum II 200X card. During this time, I checked the battery level which was at 75%. On the boat ride back, I turned the camera back on and could take shots without delay. Any ideas what caused the delay between shots? Thanks

Canon 7d and Inon D2000 problem
hiloboy replied to hiloboy's topic in Lights, Strobes, and Lighting Technique
Thanks Alex, the magnet corrected the problem. -
Why is this happening. When I set my 7D internal flash output to 1/128 and put the strobe to "full", I get much less power from the strobe than when I set the 7D to ETTL with the strobe set to "full". internal flash set to 1/128 internal flash set to ETTL

Thank you both for your replies. Luckily, I figured it out! The error message was not memory card full but something about number full? So on my menu I have a number reset which solved the problem. Thanks again!

We are on a dive trip and my wife's Fuji F30 stopped working. It says card full when the memory card is empty. I tried reformatting the card, changing out cards, resetting the camera, removing the camera battery with no luck. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone could share their story about a leak detector saving their camera or if the leak detector just let them know the camera was indeed flooded. Thanks

compressed air to dry housing
hiloboy replied to hiloboy's topic in Shooting Technique, Workflow and Editing
When I wrote that it may force water deeper into the o ring, I was talking about the button o rings, not the main housing o ring. When using compressed air, I was amazed at how much water came out the those little buttons.
