  1. Hello , i m intrested, what will be the price for only the housing ? shipping to Belgium .... my email gery@akanta.be
  2. http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/sync_cord_d1x.html Sync Cords for Digital SLR Cameras in Non Ikelite Housings Nikonos protocol strobes do not operate TTL with most of the new digital cameras. These cameras may lock-up completely when sensing a standard strobe. These special 2-conductor sync cords allow our SubStrobes to operate in manual mode and provide fractional powers when used with a non-Ikelite housing. These cords should be used for most digital camera installations in non-Ikelite camera housings with Nikonos bulkheads: Nexus, Seacam, Aquatica, Sea & Sea, Subal, et al. The Manual Controller can be utilized in conjunction with these sync cords to provide 10 power settings in half-stop increments with any DS model SubStrobe. Please note that 5-conductor #4104.6 and #4104.62 sync cords look similar, but should not be connected to non-TTL digital systems. These cords should only be used to connect Ikelite TTL SubStrobes with Nikonos IV & V systems, film cameras in non-Ikelite housings, or compatible digital SLR cameras used with non-Ikelite TTL adapters & housings. Use of Ikelite TTL adapters with compatible non-Ikelite digital SLR systems requires #4103.51 and #4103.52 digital sync cords identifiable with their blue band. I think this is the problem , old cables and websites ......
  3. From the factory Hugyfot i had some help , in the think work. So it wasn t the housing, i have no ttl , so ..... this night i was looking for a solution , using my one strobe cord. And i found out that the strobe himself was working fine. I saw a big difference between 1/8 1/4 1/2 and full power, so trobes were working fine to. It could only be the dual cord from ikelite and YES , i have the wrong one. NO TTL means a dual cord with BLUE marks on it. i never needed , used all the power, except last weekend, i was playing with a 105 mm macro lens, 2x converter and diop +4 in dark water ..... so my need for light was high. I m happy i found it , hope , if somebody else has the same problem, this can help :-) greetz Gery
  4. thx the housing is hugyfot housing, no ttl module inside , ....... greetz Gery
  5. good morning, thx for the answer , but, i dont think the problem is in the strobes, the buttons are correct , it is just as they don t receve the correct question for power....... could it be , i m ussing a twin connection .... starting from one connection and than split to two strobes ? that the cable is not good ? Or is in the housing..... i m not using a ttl module , i just want all the power witch is in the strobes .... greetz Gery

  9. good evening Last sunday i was looking for a solution with the sigma 50 mm and a tamron 2x converter In Holland most off the time , the vis. is very poor, so we need a close working distance for macro. The sigma works great but.......... I also have a tamron 90 mm. The test last weekend, seaslugs with the 50 mm and converter , nice shots but not as sharp as I wanted. Tonight playing with my cam , i used the tamron 90 mm and a diopter + 1 , I have the same working distance but I think the pictures are sharper. Any one else testing the 50 mm and 2 x converter ?????? greetings Fotoduiker

  12. hello, I think i m asking to much from my gear ....... I love macro, when I take pictures at this moment , settings ds125 ttl Nikon D80 50 mm lens iso 100 1/60 f22 my macro s are dark , not normal i think , or m I asking to much from this trobe and should I get a new one ;-( ds200 ???????? help please ???? greetings from Belgium yes I use the diffuser .......
  13. Hello, I have the same problem, and I think now , I know why. Last weekend , testshooting for my diving trip to France , a friend told me , TTL is smart. It looks how much light is needed and than tell the strobe how much to fire...... The DS125 has also a focus light. When I start shooting without focus light the pictures seems a lot better .... So I think , if you put your subject in the spotlight , the camera says he dont need that much light ??? Is this making sense ???? Or just wrong thinking ????? Greetings from Belgium Fotoduiker
  14. Hey, too dutch ??? I think i m going for the 90 mm tamron, now i take a lot of pics with the 50 mm , but sometimes I have to come to close to a fish, to have a full frame picture. 70 mm sigma is close to the 50 mm sigma i already have, so the tamrom is good i think. Like Udo says the 105 vr is ussless in Dutch water.... I have 90 % of my dives in Holland so.... thanks for the help and advice. Best greetings Gery www.freewebs.com/fotoduiker
  15. Hoi Thanks for the advice, will the 50 mm fit into the same port with a TC 1.4 ?? to close focus will give some problems bringing light to the object i think. Groetjes / greetings Gery
  16. Nice review , Intresting , I will go for the 105 vr , soon or late ..... Most of the time for traveling , with bad vissibility I think I prefer the 50 mm sigma. But I like macro a lot, so , it will be a nice lense to work with. greetings Gery
