  1. I believe the MSC switch must be included I didn't see a separate listing on the pricing sheet on their website and they didn't ask me when I ordered. This will be my third Seacam housing. I thought about switching to one of the less expensive housings for a brief moment. What I like about the Seacam besides them being very fashionable is I don't have to spend much time fiddling with the housing between dives. Other than the short time spent changing the card, battery, lens or port I do nothing else. Don't have to worry about a loose port because they kind of snap into place. Anyway just my humble opinion. Mine should be arriving shortly. Took me four months to get the camera.

  2. I have several lens, teleconverters etc for this film camera if anyone is still shooting film or wants as collector items. Prices negotiable. Email me your interest and I'll let you know what. I have. US only.

  3. I just got back from a 3 and a half month long trip throughout Asia and Southeast Asia. I had a ball, met great people, had religious experiences (above and below the water), scuba dove till my brain hurt and took photos like a madman.

Here was the Scuba Schedule -

March 18th thru 24th - Green Island, Taiwan. Diving with Flying Fish Divers. Both the diving and the operator were top notch!

April 12th thru 18th - Komodo Island aboard the MV Manguana. Recommend the diving but not the operator.

April 24th thru May 4th - Lembeh and Bunaken with 2 Fish Divers. Recommend them both.

May 8th thru May 15th - Palau with the Tropic Dancer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR BOTH!! Haha, I suppose the most expensive dive on my trip is going to be recommended but I really loved everything about this stint of the trip.

May 29th thru June 7th - Back to Lembeh with 2 Fish Divers (couldn't stay away from the macro and Palau was too expensive and hard to get to).

In that span of time I did 102 hours underwater with 106 dives added to the logbook... ain't life grand?

Here are Facebook links to my galleries -

If you get even 1/20th of the pleasure that I had in taking those photos then you are sure to smile for the rest of the day. And if I learned one big thing (in terms of Underwater Photography), take a laptop that you can view your photos with! This may seem like a no-brainer to many of you but if I could have viewed my photos instead of dumping them onto an external hardrive then I would have worked much harder at my strobe positioning and would have erased all of the "snow" in my macro and wide angle shots... oh well... c'est la vie.

I could write about all of my dive trips separately, but right now, taken as a whole the task is too much to bear. If anyone has any specific questions they would like to know I would be happy to elaborate on one part. I could also get into the topside drama's of the trip as well... the earthquake in Japan, the Ashram in India, the beauty of Jakarta, the madness of Vietnam...

What do I wanna do now? Back in NYC, unemployed with a double major in philosophy and religion degree? Well... go diving....

  4. If you are visiting Beanggabang Bay, which seems likely, you might consider taking small presents for the kids. They will paddle out to your boat to watch the crazy western people. They seemed most interested in food, which we did not hand out, but they were quite willing to accept colored pencils and similar gifts. Bring them a sharpener and show them how to use it on a pencil from the dingy when giving them out.

    Just a thought.

Sorry, I cannot help with your specific question.

This is our third trip to the area. Thanks for reminding me about the gifts for the kids. I'll probably just pick them up while I'm in Denpasar.

  5. I have two nocturnal dive lights for sale. Both lights are in perfect working condition and use six batteries (not rechargeable). Our experience has been using lithium batteries that last for many dives. Cosmetically very few scratches, however, we do have our name written in blue. The lights include the ball attachment for mounting on your arm or housing. If interested will email you a photo. You can "google" "nocturnal lights" if you'd like more info on the light. Will sell separately. $150 each plus shipping USPS. Will only sell in USA.

  7. Considering a trip to dive the southern Red Sea and would like to know which airlines fly from London (which airport is best) to Marsa Alam. Paris to Marsa Alam is another consideration or maybe even Amsterdam. Appreciate any info. Haven't been to the Red Sea in many years. In search of "clear water."

  8. I called the local Indonesian embassy and he didn't have a clue. Anyway I found out at a minimum you must have two blank Visa pages. I have four so I'm good to go. Since I leave Thanksgiving Day I'll add the pages when I return. Staying at the Kasawari Resort for the first time. Looks great. Everyone have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
