  1. I have sold the Canon equipment in this post through Wetpixel. Thanks to Wetpixel and all who inquired about purchasing the camera and housing.
  2. Chris, if you're willing to pay for the extra cost of shipping, customs duties, money transfer costs, etc. and whatever costs are involved at both your end and my end, I'd be happy to sell the gear to you. I'd need to check on the cost of shipping to the UK, but if you're really serious about purchasing the gear, I'd be happy to do that for you.
  3. I hadn't thought about that (potentially) aspect of using the TSA form ... but it might be of some help. (Having said that, I suspect if some less-than-honest government employee wants a bribe, little will stop them.) Let us know how that works out.
  4. I've been traveling for many years with camera (and housing, strobes, etc.) and never once have been stopped. However, since my gear is now worth a lot more, I thought I'd check with everyone. Thanks for sharing your experience.
  5. Thanks for the thought. I guess copies of the original invoices would convince most Customs agents.
  6. Selling my 2.5-year old Canon G7X Nauticam housing with camera, lenses and accessories. (The reason I am selling is that I've upgraded to a Canon 1DX Mark II). You'll just love the fantastic pictures you can get with the camera! And you'll really love the vacuum system which (should) prevent any housing flooding. The wide angle and macro lenses give you a wide range of choices, and the short port allows you to change lenses underwater, giving you lots of flexibility even after you've started your dive. This equipment cost me around $3,500 and I'm asking $1,500 for everything (plus $75 to defray shipping costs; if shipping is less, I'll refund the difference; if more, I'll eat the difference. Shipping to addresses in the USA only). As expected, there are a few cosmetic blemishes and very minor wear and tear. Everything works great. Importantly, all glass and acrylic is scratch free. 7. Has anyone used the Department of Homeland Security's Certificate of Registration [CBP Form 4455 (08/16)] for Personal Effects Taken Abroad? (See attached.) I have an expensive camera system and want to know if it is necessary to fill out the form before going overseas. I'd hate to come back to the States and try to prove that I didn't purchase the equipment overseas. Any thoughts?
  8. Does anyone have any experience with purchasing insurance against flooding (and other perils)? When I upgraded this past year (2018) to a more expensive camera system, I purchased insurance from H2OInsurance.com. Their policy seems to cover a number of perils, including flooding of the housing. Since the camera was very expensive, I thought this might be worth the cost. By the way, I checked and my homeowners would NOT cover the cost of the camera if the housing flooded. Any thoughts out there?
  9. Happy New Year, everyone! I just signed up on wetpixels and am looking forward to following the conversations about underwater photography. I've been diving for since 1975 (anyone else remember those days with simple horsecollars and CO2 cartridges?) and am currently a MSDT. I recently treated myself to an upgrade of my camera equipment and am shooting a Canon 1DX Mark II in a Nauticam housing. I particularly like trying my hand at macro shots, so any pointers and advice will be gladly accepted. Hope to hear from you all soon.
