  2. I'm sorting through boxes of bits and pieces and have found these two. Genuine Canon 500D close-up lenses in 72mm and 77mm, both very clean and boxed. New UK price is around £150ish new and I'm looking for around half this. So £75 each.
  3. I am wanting to upgrade cameras and I have an Ikelite housing for my t2i that I want to sell. It is in great condition; I only used it a few times and it worked perfectly every time. I also have the dome/port for wide angle lenses. This comes with everything needed to get you into the water except for the camera. I'm asking 1,300 for everything. Will also sell separately: Housing only: $1,000 Dome/Port only: $400
  4. Hello. I'm currently deciding which camera is most practical for me. I understand that the G1 X Mark II is obviously an all-around camera. -macro, wide angle, etc... And then you have an SLR like the 70d. -which of course, the lens you pick for use underwater, is what you are stuck with for that dive. So besides discussing these 2 cameras, and hearing your opinions/reviews, on them, I'd like to ask if there's another option with something like an SLR when underwater... if I'm underwater shooting with a macro lens, look up from photographing and spot a turtle going past, can i still take a decent photo of him with that macro lens? Maybe the answer I'm looking for is a diopter? Please forgive my lack of knowledge. haha I'm new to diving with SLR's and all of the equipment they entail for using beneath the water. Here's a link comparing the 2 cameras. http://www.dpreview.com/products/compare/side-by-side?products=canon_g1xii&products=canon_eos70d Thanks for any help and guidance. Kyle
  5. I'm selling my Ikelite Housing for a Canon 400D DSLR camera. Bought these in early 2013 with the intention that I would get back into underwater photography. I'm finding I'm struggling to get time to dive at all, let along take pictures! Ikelite Housing for Canon 400D 3 inch dome port (5503) .. some marks but should polish out 3.5 inch flat port (5502) Dome Port Canon 17 - 85 (5503.90). housing was back to Ikelite in early 2013 for a full service. All gear is in good condition. I'm based in Ireland but will ship anywhere in the world at buyer's expense. Am looking for 400EUR for the lot.
  6. Price Reduced: $2300 (certified trackable shipping included) Original cost was $6,200. I am selling a full kit for Hugyfot 5DII housing, 2 x 8" dome ports (product number 6.608), 1 x Hugyfot Macro port, extensions 20mm, 40mm, 50mm, Zoom Gear. Also the Hugycheck system, which is a Vacuum Leak Detector so you can pump down the housing before you dive and it will tell you before you even get in the water if you have a good seal. Heinrich TTL circuitry (an optional upgrade I took up), makes macro a breeze, absolutely love it. I also have spare backup TTL flash Controller Board, and Spare Canon Flash Shoe (i.e. spares so that if I ever had a problem on a trip I could replace things and keep going, but I never had a problem, so these are still in their packaging.) The housing ships with the 2 sync ports (1 new). I have really enjoyed using this housing it has been reliable, and easy to use. I have been careful to wash everything thoroughly after each use and it is all good, everything works. (A demonstration could be arranged for an interested buyer) The first dome is near perfect, the second backup dome has some small scratches in the middle which could be polished out, and a deeper scratch about 2mm long on the side of the dome. Basically I used the second dome as an excellent backup as is, and for someone who wanted to they could make it even better. The flat port is also close to perfect (see images below). This is an adaptable collection of accessories to use many different lenses, I have used Canon fisheye 15mm, Canon 14mm, 16-35MKI, 16-35mkII, 100mm macro...etc List of inclusions: 2 x 8" Hugyfot domes (product number 6.608, including neoprene dome covers) 1 x Hugyfot flat macro port 3 x Hugyfot Extensions- 1 x Hugyfot 20mm extension, 1 x Hugyfot 40mm extension, 1 x Hugyfot 50mm extension 1 x Zoom gear 1 x Spare 6.627 TTL Flash Controller (unused) 1 x Spare 6.791 Flash Canon Flash Shoe (unused) 1 x Plastic spanner for lock nuts on handles, 1 x Spare Housing O-ring 1 x Spare Port O-ring 1 x Leak alarm 1 x Hugycheck pump (very slow, so I also include simeple hand pump which is simpler) 1 x hugycheck system (hold pressure check system) 2 x allen keys 1 x single hand Hugyfot grip 1 x cover for housing port 3 x port covers (as per images) (Not Lithium batteries if post by air.) This is a really well designed system, and this package includes plenty of spares and options (which cost a lot more off the shelf). Even if you are getting a different Hugyfot system the cost of the accessories new will exceed the cost of what I am offering here.
  7. I will try to keep this brief, I recently returned from a weeks diving in the red sea and was my first extended go with new camera and housing (details below), the problem I had certain wildlife is easily spooked, no matter how slow I approached, minimal/no bubbles with the lens on the camera I could not get close up for some of the shots I would like to take. Two specific occasions were: a large Napolean wrase was behind a pinnacle I swam around to get a photo, said wrase then proceded to swim around the pinnacle as soon as I got closer. Second occasion was an amazing dive with 20+ hammerhead shark shoal (unsure of the plural) it was a surreal dive but looking back at the photos I would have like to have got a good close up (able to see denticles on skin would be good), in this situation the sharks were very curious but wary. Over the space of 4 dives gradually got closer but 2 metres was the limit they would swim off if we got any closer. My camera is a Canon EOS M in a Nauticam Hosuing with a 22mm f/2 lens, it performed really well for the majority of the trip apart from close ups (bar lion fish and moray's which dont move away!). My choice now is one of the other EF-M mount lenses (18-55 f3.5/5.6 or 55-200 f4.5/6.3) or use the canon adaptor (already own), and fit any of canon's lenses. I own a 600D and have a few lenses, above water this would not be an issue as I could try a lens and if I didnt get on with it sell it on or return if for minimal loss, the added complication being if i purchase a new port then it adds quickly to the cost of trials and are more difficult to sell on/return. Any adivce or opinons welcome ! N.B. Current idea would be keep using the 22mm lens (with strobes I am saving for) most dives and then switch over to the longer lens for specific close up dives.
  8. I just saw that a new WA lens has been announced ( http://www.canonrumors.com/2014/05/canon-announces-two-new-ef-ultra-wide (weitwinkel)-angle-zoom-lenses-and-white-eos-rebel-sl1-digital-slr-camera/ ) . I'm currently looking for a setup for my 5dmkIII. Having sold my ikelite setup, I'm starting fresh, and considering lenses and ports. Have initially been thinking about a Nauticam, and then buy the Canon 8-15 to use. However, this being a fullframe camera, that would go from circular crazy wide to wide. Unless your shooting whale sharks, Im thinking that might not be the ideal lens. I was in Coccos last year, and looking back at my shots and my gopro shots, extreamly few times did I wish for wider shots. More tele on the other hand... I have already the Sigma 15FE and Canons 16-35 f/2.8 II, but I also read up that you need a very big dome to get good corner sharpnes, and preferly a 82mm +2 diopter. I'm using the 16-35 for other things (indoor concerts) so I'm not getting rid of it, but if this new lens, for a quite decent price, could outmatch the 2.8 version, and possible let me use a smaller dome, it would be something to consider. Does anyone have a guess on what dome it would perform best in, and how small you possible could go? I'm doing all my diving traveling, and a dome take up very much space in the carry-on. And thinking of going with glas, does add quite a bit of weight. Any feedback would be appreciated. /Björn

  10. I am selling my Canon 7D body as well as my Essex water housing for it. The 7D and housing were bought just a few months ago, but I am already looking to upgrade. I am the second owner of both items and they both still have many many many years of life left and the housing will last forever if taken care of right. The body itself is in perfect condition it was taken into the shop back in March and is ready to go. Has less than 55,000 clicks, with expectations of 150,000 plus. It will come with the original box and accessories it came with. As for the Essex Water housing for Canon 7D. It is still in perfect working condition. With this housing you have all the controls but on and off. The fisheye port has light marks on the sides from trying out longer lenses but it doesn't effect the picture at all when the lens is in there, plus I am throwing in a brand new glass piece for the Fish eye port so if you would like to change it out to have a brand new glass port. The port also holds a 50mm with no problem. Its water sealed and I still have some grease I can provide and some extra bolts. It comes with the auto focus pistol grip mount and is all ready to go. This is a great deal for anyone looking to start or upgrade from a previous set up. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. 12. Hello Everyone, I wanted to share my latest video I have put together for my 'Rolling in the Deep' Series. This time it focuses on Macro subjects found in Komodo. I look shooting macro, and I don't feel that macro gets enough attention at least from the video side. Some of the coolest underwater characters are of the small variety. As alway, comments good bad or indifferent are always appreciated. Enjoy! Dustin Or Youtube, watch in HD.

  18. Here's a recent trip video from a deep south Red Sea photography workshop (Egypt). Shot with Canon 5D Mark III in Nauticam with Canon 16-35mm, 17-40mm and 8-15mm lenses. Lit with the Orcalight Seawolf 2260. Loving the sheer lumen power of that light. For some reason the embedded video won't go above 720p res so for the full 1080 effect click through to youtube......
  19. I have been reading about the flash systems and I am a bit confused. May be somebody can clarify it for me. The strobes in the market, for example Ikelites, say that they are TTL compatible, yet there are TTL, a-TTL, e-TTL, and e-TTL II systems. So, does it mean that these TTL strobes only work with the original TTL system ( designed for film cameras),or they also include the newer e-TTL and e-TTL II? In other words, by saying they are TTL compatible they are generalizing to include the newer systems? Thanks
