  1. FOR SALE: Canon 40D and Ikelite housing: $950 for quick sale (UK based but can post anywhere) Specs: http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_finder/cameras/digital_slr/eos_40d/index.aspx?specs=1 http://www.ikelite.com/web_two/can_40d.html - A superb system for underwater (or aspiring underwater) photographers
- The camera and housing show some signs of general wear and tear, but still work like a dream (I took the following images with this system: http://aarongekoski.com/underwater-photos.html).
- As per the photos, the buttons show slight signs of corrosion and there is a small amount of rust under the clasps, but this is fairly common with Ikelite and does not affect performance at all.
- The underwater housing has been used less than 50 times.
- Includes three batteries and charger and u-bar for mounting, but does not include dome ports or lenses
- Postage is from the UK, so postage cost depends on location and delivery option.

  12. Hello Everyone, I thought I would post this. I haven't decided if this is cool.....or will it make people seasick!!! Was in the Galapagos, and we were anchored in some good current. It was night time, and a bunch of Galapagos and silky sharks were hovering just in back of the liveaboard. Since night diving wasn't allowed, I had to improvise, so the captain got me some rope and I tied it to the housing, said a few prayers, and dumped it over the back. The reaction from the sharks was interesting. Instead of just hovering in back, they were very interested in the lights. They soon started approaching, and hitting the lights. It was pretty exciting. Let me know what you think. Dustin Enjoy https://vimeo.com/79056230

  14. Hi Wetpixel community - first time poster, long time lurker here. I'm headed to North Sulawesi this year (trip split (2:1) between Lembeh and Bangka) and I'm looking for some input on my macro setup, specifically for shooting critters in Lembeh. I'm shooting a full frame camera (Canon 5D2) with the Canon 100mm macro. From everything I've read, 60mm macro is the go-to macro for Lembeh. I used to shoot the Canon 60mm macro on my 20D, but it won't work on my full frame 5D2. Initially I was thinking of getting a shorter macro (possibly Sigma 50) but then realized that my 100mm macro on full frame is roughly equivalent to 60mm on a 1.4x crop sensor camera. So perhaps I'm already in the focal length sweet spot for Lembeh macro shooting? My question is, where do I go from here? Shorter macro or super macro? I'm considering getting the Sigma 50mm macro for froggies, fish portraits, rhinopias, etc., but I'm concerned that I'll be missing out on super macro with only 100mm on full frame. I'm also a little concerned about short working distance with the Sig 50 on FF. If I decide to expand my macro capabilities on the long end, I see my options as follows: 1. Sigma 150mm macro 2. Current Canon 100 macro + 1.4x TC Also considering getting a wet diopter (Subsee) to use on the 100 or in addition to the 100 + 1.4x TC. Just looking for some input from experienced Lembeh shooters (or full frame shooters) as to whether I should go shorter or longer on the macro end. I don't want to bring 3 macro lenses, but can be convinced to bring 2 if the Sig 150 is a better option that the Canon 100 + TC. Thanks in advance! Joe
  15. I have a Canon Powershot SD1000 Digital Elph 7.1 Megapixel camera. Includes manual, wrist-strap and battery charger. I also have an Ikelite 6147.10 housing that was made for this camera. You can access all the buttons to fully utilize every function of this camera while it's in the housing. The housing is rated to 60m or 200 ft. I am certified to 130 ft and have taken it to that depth on several occasions. The housing was just serviced by Ikelite in June 2012 and I have the receipt to show the work they did. I have not taken it on a dive since it's been serviced. They replaced several parts so the housing is like new. I just paid $140 for this service!!!! This system is very easy to use and has served me well for the time I have had it. I'm just ready to upgrade to a camera I can grow into. Asking $400 US for both camera and housing. Camera is also a great size for land use too!
  16. Hello Everyone, Went diving in the Galapagos in August for the first time, and boy was that an interesting destination! We pretty much saw everything...Really a spectacular trip, above and below water. One dive, which has to be one of the most unique I have ever done/heard of...is the Marine Iguana dive. During a certain hour of the day, the Marine Iguanas head to the ocean from the land and swim and eat the seaweed and algae. Hundreds of them are in the water. Really a fun dive...cold but fun! We lucked out with excellent visibility, which is not typically the case in this particular dive. Here is a video I put together of it. Please feel free to Share or Like it. Also, any comments good or bad are welcome. Enjoy, Dustin https://vimeo.com/78419332

  18. Aquatica housing for the Canon 5D Mark II for sale. The housing was bought on WetPixel from FirstLight (James of Firstlight Films) It's in excellent condition, it has the microphone cable disconnected, as recommended by Backscatter, and came to me like this. James used the camera on one trip for only around five dives. I've used it on one trip to the Cayman Islands, 7 dives and two snorkelling sessions at Stingray city. Basically it's like new and comes with the original box, manual, O-ring, water leak alarm, 2 Nikonos V bulheads and the standard pistol grip handles. The lanyard and slot mounts on the handles in the pics are not included, and I do not have any ports for sale. I'm only selling due to a bad case of upgraditus and now have the 5D Mark III. I'm asking £1,700 for this beautifully machined piece of aluminium craftsmanship. That's a £750 saving on the new price from suppliers in the UK. I am based in the UK Delivery costs are not included in the price and will be calculated depending on location. I will consider posting internationally. PM me for more details or additional photos, don't miss out on this bargain, make me an offer...!

  20. Hi I have a Canon 16-35mm f2.8L II lens with a Nauticam housing and I was wondering what the best Glass Dome would be for that lens? I am looking at the Nauticam 9inch glass dome but I have heard that it lacks sharpness at the corners. Has anyone had any experience with this set up and experienced the same problem? Any opinions on how to improve this problem or recommendations for domes that dont have this issue with this lens would be appreciated. Thanks.
