Hello! I am hoping to make it to Guadalupe for my first great white shark cage-diving (at the mercy or mischief of COVID that is). Wanted to poll fellow photogs, 1- fisheye or rectilinear? 2- strobes or natural? (Heard strobes are prohibited there, any truth to this?) i want to maximize quality but also try to take my gear as carry-only and avoid checking it in on the flight.

Video from my excursion to Isla Guadalupe, Mexico to dive with Great White sharks. Voyage to the island on the "Islander". My dive master was Jimi Partington with Doc Anes as a supporting marine biologist. Highly recommend this group for the professionalism, skill, and safety concerns when diving with one of nature's most formidable apex predators. Taken with a tiny Panasonic T3 camera,,, the Panasonic T1 was my first underwater camera of any quality. I've since moved up to a nice Olympus TG-1 system with a UFL-2 strobe and Nocturnal Lights focus/video light system. Currently, looking for a housing for my Olympus EM-1 and looking forward to a much improved image quality for my future adventures in the Blue. -
Hi All, Here are a couple of videos I made using primarily a GoPro and some of the stills were taken with a Canon 550D/T2i - in hindsight I would have went with the HD format - so unfortunately they are quite low resolution - it was my first attempts. Here is a trip to Guadalupe And here is one of lobster diving/spearfishing/Whales around Bermuda - it does have some images of fish and lobsters being caught so if you are squeamish about that kind of thing I suggest you dont watch it - the marine environment around Bermuda is very well managed and protected with strict quotas an policing - and of course we only ever catch what we can eat. The whale footage is from Newfoundland. Any constructive criticism welcome! Cheers,
