  1. Hello guys, I'm a happy Ikelite user from 10 years ago. Housings, ports, and strobes. My last change, one year ago, was moving to the Li-Ion batteries and chargers. Very happy, less weight, less space and more performance. Well... my problem is that, suddenly, I can't charge two of my three batteries. Just the charger stay flashing all the time. Never stop and don't charge. I've two Li-Ion chargers and therr batteries and tryed a lot of combinations... I found this: The center contact of the receptacle into which you plug the charger has a split pin that can get squeezed together preventing good electrical continuity. Take something like a small screwdriver and spread the center pin slightly so it provides a snug fit with the plug. The socket is diode protected to only allow electricity "in" so you do not need to worry about a short circuit if you touch the side of the socket. http://www.ikelite.com/support/faq/ds-strobes.html But don't solve my problem. I found an article about Li-Ion explanng that this batteries can protect the circuit and "sleep" until a smart charger wake up again the battery. http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/low_voltage_cut_off I googled a lot and can't find the solution. I know, I've the Ikelite support but I'm almost sure is not a manufacturer problem, something strange with the charging process. any advice?? Thanks in advance. Carlos
  2. Relatively time critical question... I'm currently in Lembeh for a few days with the camera but the TTL controller on my housing is playing up, buttons electrically (not physically) stuck causing mode and power changes i cant override with the strobe (DS161s) dial themselves. The last time it was stuck on the default TTL mode and i couldn't hold both buttons in to turn to manual. I never ever use TTL so this was a pain and causing very inconsistent shots. So, can anyone tell me what pins to mask on the hot shoe OR as a last plan, what wire to cut so the thing just fires bypassing the controller? This should then allow me to use the dial on the strobe to adjust power.
  3. Paid 850 Euro, Asking for 600 USD or 500 Euro. Will be shipped from Germany. Comes with Aquatica 18503 neoprene cover and 18480 Dome shade. Dome is in perfect used condition. No Scratches on the glass. Normal signs of use. The 8 dome port is the longest standing port in Aquaticas arsenal. Since its introduction in the 80s, images taken using the 8 dome port have graced all major underwater magazines at one point or another. To this day it is still a favourite among professional photographers who demand quality and reliability. A real work horse, the port is a general purpose dome port made of optical grade acrylic and is well suited for large rectilinear wide angle and fisheye lenses. The 8 radius means it can easily be used for over/under photos and will produce a smooth and thin water line. With Nauticam Adapter 21305 or D&D Adapter (NOT included) you can use the dome also on Nauticam or Ikelite Housings More Pictures: http://www.ebay.de/itm/331725359789?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 More Details: http://www.aquatica.ca/en/products_ports_18405.html

  6. Hey everyone, I'm looking for an Ikelite underwater housing for the Canon Powershot SD4000 IS. My original housing for this camera is no longer functional, and many of the dealers I've tried (Backscatter, Adorama, B&H) no longer sell this model since the camera has been discontinued. Does anyone have a used housing that's still functional which I could purchase? Many thanks!

  8. Hey guys, I know this topic has been brought up in the past but, does anyone know if there is a was to hook up an external video monitor to the GH4 Ikelite housing. Ive done some research and unfortunately most of it seems like its a DIY type of thing. I Nauticam the only ones that give this option with the bulkhead? Has anyone tried modifying the TTL bulkhead on the Ikelite housing? If anyone has successfully added a monitor i would love to here how or see pictures. Thanks!
  9. For sale Ikelite housing for Canon 7D. The housing is in good working order. Selling for $1,000
  10. I would like to upgrade my 2xS2000 strobes to something stronger, and browsing the datasheets, I started wondering about color temerature. On land, we'd need 5500K. 1m optical path (0.5m distance) takes away ~1/2 stop red, which speaks for a ~2000K correction. I know, 14bit raw has a great tolerance, still, isn't the case favoring the warmer (4700K) strobes, compared to the typical 5500-5800K ones from Inon and Sea&Sea? In other words: may we expect better red noise using warmer strobes, especially for WA work/larger object distance?
  11. This is a used battery pack. I've used it infrequently for the past few years. It works fine and is in great working and cosmetic condition. I just have too many of these. (Apologies if this is a duplicate listing -- I thought I posted this before but could not find it. The NiCd battery pack has sold). Rechargeable NiMH battery pack #4066.5 is compatible only with Ikelite’s DS125, DS160, and DS161 strobe. The rear section of the strobe is the NiMH battery pack for the strobe. The battery takes 1.5 hours to charge with the Ikelite smart charger. NiMh battery pack: $99. Free shipping within the US as long as I can ship to a USPS-approved address (I will ship this via USPS Priority Mail). If you are interested, please contact Norb Wu at temp2_at_norbertwu.com. Please no phone calls. I am happy to entertain reasonable offers. I can accept credit cards, Paypal, money orders, and personal checks. Money orders and personal checks will have to clear my bank before the product is shipped; which can take up to three weeks. If the above free shipping does not apply, shipping will be at buyer's expense (at actual cost) and will be UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, or USPS Priority Mail (all of which give tracking of packages). If we conclude a deal, I'll give you a quote for shipping via one of the above methods. Thanks! Norb Wu
  12. The following is currently on Ebay, item #111824331338. The auction ends on this Sunday. I also have a Canon 5D mark 2 on at the same time. If you mention Wetpixel and win both auctions I will deduct the shipping on the camera. I am a professional photographer (see davidfleetham dot com) and I’m selling this Canon 5D mark 2 Ikelite housing because I have upgraded to the 5D mark 3 model. This auction is only for the housing. The housing will be shipped in the original Ikelite box that it came in. The housing includes everything you get with a new housing (some of the parts you will be getting came with my new housing and have never been used). You get the tray and dual handle setup (never been in the water) as pictured and two Special Zoom Clamp/Sleeve and Zoom Sleeve (Ikelite part number 5509.27 and 5509.28), extra screws and control fittings along with Ikelite’s SLR-DC Housing instruction manual and Quick Start Guide. The housing is USED and there are a few scratches and points of wear, but nothing that would have any affect on it working properly, as it has for me. I have never had a single drop of water in the housing. If you have not used an Ikelite housing before, it is worth mentioning that this housing works with Canon’s TTL system with Ikelite’s strobes. Two buttons on the back of the housing that allow you to switch from manual to TTL where you can also adjust to under expose or over expose with the TTL. This is an impressive piece of technology that no other housing manufacturer has been able to duplicate and it is one of the main reasons I use Ikelites housings. Again…this auction is only for the housing itself. No strobes. No cords. No ports. No camera. No lenses. I do have the camera up on a separate auction if you wish to get both from me. The buyer pays insurance and shipping ($50.00 airmail from Hawaii) and I will accept Paypal payment, due within 2 days of close of auction or this item will be listed again. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

  22. Hi folks, Keen to get some feedback on lens/ports/diopters etc. I have a D7100 in an Ikelite housing with 8" dome and port extensions. I've been using the Tokina 11-16 which is sharp and fast, but a bit limited so really like the sound of the just released Tokina 11-20 f2.8. The 11-20 lens is about 5mm larger OD so wont slot through a port extension, but "I think" the barrel will go onto the camera OK with a 5510.22 port fitted to the housing, and I can then screw the 8" port on over the top of the lens... maybe... Has anyone tried that already? and if so did you use the 5510.22 or the 5510.24? Most importantly how does the 11-20 perform underwater? My other lens dilemna is some fast glass beyond 20mm. Like a fool I didn't check if the Nikon 14-24 actually fit in an ikelite port (it doesn't...). So might have to look at the Nikon 17-35/2.8? On paper (and via my wallet) I really like the look of the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 as an alternative but cant find any reviews if it's been tried underwater? Has anyone tried this lens? The Sigma has had mixed reviews for AF but the guys at the camera shop seem to think they sorted that using the Sigma USB dock and at 1.8 it could be pretty interesting with a magic filter in big water. Sorry for the long first post! Look forward to your comments.
  23. I have my Ikelite glass flat port, Ikelite 5510.35 for sale. Selling as I changed housing types. It is currently posted on EBay: Ikelite Flat Port Assembly for DSLR Housings 5510 35 | eBay I used it with an extension with both my 60mm and 100mm macro lenses. From Ikelite (www.ikelite.com): The Modular Glass Flat Front features a durable, optical grade glass front element. Lens Extensions are available in a variety of lengths to accommodate most popular portrait and macro lenses. The Modular Glass Flat Front does not attach directly to a housing. A compatible Lens Extension is required. Each Lens Extension simply threads into the base of the Modular Glass Flat Front. Measure your lens or Use our Port Finder to determine compatibility and choose an appropriate Lens Extension. Please PM me with questions - Listed for 175 with free shipping on EBay - I will accept reasonable offers here and pull it from EBay. Jay

  25. Hey guys, So im looking to buy the Panasonic GH4 with an Ikelite housing for it. I have done a lot of research and can not find any information on whether or not the ikelite housing with a specific port combo (depending on the lens used) can house the GH4 with the metabones speedbooster adapter. Has any body done this or know if this is possible? I know Nauticam I think can hold that combo in their housing. However I like Ikelite for the price. I would love to get a Nauticam housing just for the many option of having the Atmos ninja housing etc for 4K 4:2:2 10 bit capture. Maybe I just bite the bullet and dish out the cash. Any help is great thank!
