  2. Hey guys Clearing out a drawer I came across a package of spares from my old Inon Z240 strobes which I sold some months ago. Photo attached. Anyone interested? Inon o-ring grease, spare o-rings, various stickers and a couple of what are, I think, the magnets or maybe blanks? I'm not looking for anything for them other than to cover the postage. I can mail reasonably easily to the US; UK and mainland Europe too in slightly slower time.

  9. Hi folks, Life has set me off in a different direction, so it's time for my fab UWP rig to find a new, happy home. I'm selling a complete Canon / Subal / Inon rig + accessories. The kit consists of: Canon 40D (body only) Subal C40 housing - modified by Todd Winner (prior owner) for optically triggered flash. Subal 180 GS magnifying viewfinder INON D200 strobe + arm INON Z240 strobe + arm Zen Underwater DP200 dome port + Subal extension ring Subal FB55 flat port 2x Subal 45mm extension rings Fisheye Fix LED500DX focus light Maintenance bits (o-rings, lube, manuals, etc) As a bonus, I'll even throw in some extra swag: powerex rechargeable batteries (for the strobes) a (UK) charger, a memory card, floats for the strobe arms, and a lowepro camera backback to carrry the kit. Items are in good condition / good working order. Please PM for more pics / further details. Retail price for these items new is over GBP 7,500 (USD 9K, 8,250 EUR). Open to reasonable offers! Prefer to sell to a UK buyer, as a complete kit.
  10. For sale is a set of two Inon Z240, Type 4. The strobes are only four years old and weren't used really much (very good condition, see images). There are a few extras: every knob has knob-extensions so that if you use thicker gloves you can adjust them better. Second extra: every strobe has a custom made sunshade as you can find on the Z330. They work excellent. There is also a neoprene cover for each strobe. And a ball adapter is also included. And the diffusor plate (not on the pictures) comes with them of course. I used them with fibre optics but the Z240 can also be fired by electrical cables. If you want to know more- drop me a message. Asking 930 Euro for the set (which is a fair price with all the extra parts...), open to offers.
  11. I just had my sea & sea ys-d2 strobe die on me and am looking for advice on replacement strobes. I've been looking at the inon z330 and the retra pro. I've talked to a couple of places and haven't gotten much help. One said the reliability of the retra pros is unknown because they are too new and they recommended the inons. Another place said my current ys-d2 strobes were more powerful than the new retra pros, which doesn't seem right. I've also read there's an issue with ttl with the retra pros. Does anyone have insights into the reliability of the inon z330 or the retra pro strobes? I'm interested in all good, bad, and dispelling information about these two strobes or any other strobes I should consider. Delia
  12. For sale: Nauticam to Inon Optical Fiber cables (2) for total $100.00, including shipping and handling.
  13. I'm hoping for a little clarification. I just got a set of inon 330s and I'm having a hard time understanding the manual. Can someone explain the ev control switch and it's use on ttl vs manual. The advanced cancel circuit switch. Should I have it on the up position only when shooting manual?
  14. I shoot mostly macro and a little bit bit of wide angle. I wanted a rig that I could do a bit of both and not break the budget. Did I forget anything? Any input on any of my choices? Here are some of my pics. My Flickr Page
  15. I know that there seems to be trend towards using dome diffusers. I don't know whether this just because the new z330s seem to come with them. The question is really whether there is much of a gain over a standard diffuser. Clearly we would all love beautiful even light across the lens coverage but do the domes really add much in that regard? Interested in thoughts.
  16. Folks I have for sale a Retra LSD snoot mount for the Inon Z240. A slightly unusual item, it's ideal for anyone who has a Retra LSD with a non-Inon Z240 mount but wants to switch to using the LSD on an Inon Z240 strobe. Cost is €49 plus shipping. PM me for more info

  20. Good evening. I have an issue with my new photography gear. I'll explain it here written but I also made a video for those who prefer not to read. The whole setup is new and the batteries are charged. I'm using a Canon RP in a Nimar housing. I have a flash trigger sitting in the hot shoe (battery is new as far as I know). I had to stick the LED to the optical bulkhead but I made sure that the LED sits right in the middle of it. The optical bulkhead was already installed by Nimar. It was delivered with a small adapter to put two cables at the same time. I am using new Inon fiber optic cables and 2 Inon Z330 strobes. Here is what I tested (and documented in the video): When the shutter is actuated the LED Flash sync works every single time, a quick red light is emitted. (I confirmed with Nimar that the LED is indeed red and it's not a sign of low battery or similar). When I hold the strobe about 10 cm close to the optical bulkhead this little LED is strong enough to trigger it. I did this to make sure that the camera & strobe are in the right mode to fire. Both strobes work with this test. When I connect the fiber optic cables to the bulkhead and look at the ends, I can see the red light every time I click the shutter. I assume that with these steps I show that the camera, the flash sync, the cables and the strobes all reliably work. Now that I put everything together the strobes don't fire. My assumption is that the cables don't carry enough light to trigger the strobes? They seem clean and are original cables, so I assume good quality. Do I need to cut the tip off or something? I used them like I got them. They don't have any kinks or other visible issues. Any recommendations on how to proceed? Do my tests clearly define the cables as the problem or did I miss something? Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the light sensor of the strobes? Here is the link to the video: Thanks in advance for any help. Patric

  23. Hey Everyone, I have changed my system and I would love this whole set-up to go to someone who is keen and looking for a great package to get started. I have listed everything below with approximate costs (in brackets) of each item. I really don't want to sell this in pieces - but I am not in a hurry so low-ball offers will be rejected. The entire thing new would cost over $6000. I am a Canadian living in Dubai and I am happy to send it anywhere in the world from here, that isn't an issue. I've attached images of everything below, if you have any questions please let me know. Cheers, Hilary Selling Price for everything -> $2500 USD plus shipping - Aquatica Housing ($2689) - Nikon D7000 Camera (and original strap & accessories) ($759) - Tokina 10-17 Fish Eye Lens ($429) - Nikkor 60mm Macro Lens ($596) - Focus Rings for the lenses - Aquatica 8" Dome Port ($546) - Aquatica Macro Port ($250 - bought this second hand) - 2 Inon strobes ($1000 – bought these second hand) - Rechargeable Energizer Batteries for the lights (UK plugs) - Pelican Hard Travel Case with adjustable dividers ($229) - Carry Handle ($89) - extra o-rings for everything and any bits and pieces like extra ball joints for the arms - Manuals and Photography Books
