  6. Hi =) Need some help with my D800 housing. I've got it for around 4 years and it's all fine and perfect. The only thing is that the handle - specially on the right side - feels to far from the housing, making a bit hard for me to reach all the knobs on the side and back of the housing. Been surviving with that along the years, but now I had enough. he he he. Are there alternative handles that would fit the housing? Any suggestions? Thanks! Fernando

  11. Aloha All, I have a Macromate close-up lens that I will be putting on ebay unless anyone here wants it. I originally used it on the older Ikelite housing with the clear port for a Canon 100mm macro. It worked great. When I moved up to the new black ports I had to grind the “U” shape out of the extension to fit the part where the two pieces come together. You can see this in the photos. So this will work on the old clear port for the 100mm or the black glass port. The following is from Backscatters website about this product……. “Extreme Macro Get incredibly sharp 2:1 (twice life-size) macro images with the underwater removable MacroMate lens for underwater SLR housings. The MacroMate doubles your 100mm or 105mm image size by allowing you to get closer to the subject. Sealed Achromatic Glass Optics Custom achromatic lenses are sealed in a glass optical housing and provide extreme magnification with incredibly sharp edges. This unique design produces much tighter and sharper images than simple close-up lenses that are exposed to water. The air sealed chamber maximizes the optical properties of the close-up lens without distortion or soft edges. The MacroMate is designed for a snug fit on the lens and when not in use, the photographer can quickly flip the lens up and out of the way. This is just the Macromate close-up lens. The port is NOT included. Specifications Optics: Multi-coated acromatic lenses sealed in an optical glass housing Magnification: 2:1 (2x lifesize) Hardware: Custom machined delrin adapter with stainless fasteners Weight in Air: 1.55 lb / 24.8 oz (most designs) Weight in Fresh Water: 0.56 lb / 9 oz (most designs)” You can see more about this on the Backscatter website. They sell them for $599.00. The first person with $300.00 plus $15.00 shipping will get this one. Let me know if you have any questions. David Fleetham david@davidfleetham.com

  15. Hi, This is my first post and as such I am sure many things here have been said here before. Please forgive and excuse me if I am being repetitive. I have started diving after 15 years, did a Maldives trip and I was hooked again. I am very comfortable underwater, been around water all my life, never felt unsafe under. I got my advanced underwater and enriched while in Maldives and did about 10 dives. I probably had 100 dives when I was diving 15 years ago. I used a gopro camera during these dives with the filters and dive housing and a constant light source, and while the video was good the pictures were terrible. I am a pretty good photographer, have a nikon 7200 with lots of wide angle, fisheye and macro lenses, as well as a d750 and sony a 7 ii. Now I want to get the kinds of shots I can get above the water underwater, but I feel crazy spending the amounts of money I need to spend with this much experience. I am committed, and I have the means, but is it just crazy for a guy with almost 0 underwater photography experience to start of with ikelite d7200 housing, 2 ds160 strobes and all the extras. I felt good with strong currents on my dives, but doing challenging dives with so much equipment seems a bit crazy. Is this as hard as it looks? Is it crazy to spend all this money so early? I am reading and learned everything in theory but practice is not the same and I am wondering if I should wait around. I just know a point and shoot underwater kit will not satisfy me artistically. All comments from anyone who went through the same process is welcome. Thanks.
  16. I have an Ikelite 6871.02 eTTL housing for a Canon 5D m II that I'm looking to sell. I've made a couple of underwater docs with the unit which is still in great working condition. I've recently switched over to a Sony camera and so the housing (and 5D) are no longer needed. It's a great system for underwater photography and cinematography and being used I'm willing to let it go for a fraction of what it would be retail. Looking for $850 for the housing (dome port NOT included) OBO and if interested will sell the 5D m II (body only) for $650 or will sell together as a package for $1,250 OBO. Message me if interested. K
  17. Hi all, I am looking to acquire an old Ikelite housing made fore the Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera. I believe the housing was manufactured in the 70s or 80s so I'm not sure how lucky I'll be here but in my research I found some threads that were a few years old where people were buying/selling these housings so who knows. Fingers crossed! If anyone has tips or leads on a housing of this sort that information would also be greatly appreciated. Photos for reference: Thanks in advance!
  18. I am selling a barely used Ikelite housing for the Canon S95. It is in excellent condition as it has only ever been on 2 dives. On those two dives it was well maintained and looked after. Of the 2 dives, the last dive was in July 2016 and it was fine, did not flood. The O-ring is fine and it comes with the gear ring. The flash diffuser is missing. Camera S95 is not included. I am asking for $80 including shipping to the lower 48 of the United States. Any other location will have shipping costs based on the location. If this is not marked as sold then the item is still available, feel free to PM me.

I just don't use it (and need the money . This has TTL, worked great. It can fit a canon 5d mark iii, 5ds and a 5dsr. Please note, this is the version of the housing built specifically for the 5d mark iii (6871.03, not the 6871.04 - not sure if that makes a difference, although it might when using 5ds or 5dsr with ttl? it was built before those models came out.)
