  1. Hi All, As per my understanding, the Sony a6000 and a6300 cameras are very similar in size and design. Has anyone try to use Sony A6300 or A6500 in the Ikelite A6000 underwater housing? The faster AF system, metabones and 4k video are very appealing. Direct Quote from Ikelite: "Unfortunately, differences in lens placement prevent the cameras from being used interchangeably in the same housing" http://www.ikelite.com/housings/sony/6910.61-sony-a6000.html Alan
  2. I sold my housing today, but they didn't need the strobe so I've got one Ikelite DS-125 strobe for sale. Asking $350 and I'll cover shipping. Included is the strobe, battery, diffuser cover, wall charger, international plug adapters, and Ikelite TTL sync cord. Retail pricing for the strobe is $699, sync cord is selling for $99. Specifications from Ikelite: - 300 ft (60 m) depth rating - TTL plus 4 manual power settings - Built-in halogen focus light If you have any questions, please let me know. I only take 1-2 trips per year so the strobe is in great condition with little use. The last picture is only for viewing the TTL cord which I will include with the strobe. The housing is no longer available. Thank you.
  3. I have just switched camera bodies from the Nikon D700 to the Nikon D810 and will not be needing my old Ikelite 6812.7 housing any longer. Ikelite headquarters recently re-set the four port screws for me so it fits like a brand new glove now. Housing comes with 2 Standard Zoom Clamps + Sleeves in original boxes! This model is now discontinued at the company, so the only way to obtain one is by finding a nice used one such as this! This housing has been nothing less than amazing for the last three years I have owned it! I ship worldwide. Some of my photos used with very housing can be seen below, please visit DEANKARR.COM for photography bookings and image licensing info. Write me with any questions whatsoever about this listing and I'll do my best to answer. Asking $1,200.00 About Ikelite 68127 Nikon D-700 SLR Underwater Housing The clear polycarbonate case is contoured to the camera, durable, and completely corrosion free. Unlike aluminum housings there is a clear view of the main o-ring seal, port o-ring seal, camera controls, and dry inside. Mechanical controls are kept water-tight withI kelite pioneered Quad-Ring seal glands proven to be the most reliable method of sealing controls. The housing is fully functional to a depth rating of 200 feet (60m). The housing is only slightly negative in salt water depending on choice of lens port. Click here for information on housing size and weight. Controls are provided through the housing for every camera function except focus selector lock, metering selector, diopter adjustment control, and flash pop-up button. Stay depressed control operates the White Balance, ISO and Dual functions on top left of camera body. AE/AF lock button can be activated with your thumb while holding the handle. A large zoom control knob can be comfortably reached without removing your hand from the handle. A full range of dome and flat ports accommodate most macro, wide angle and zoom lenses. The standard port line offers compact and affordable options without sacrificing quality. The modular system offers maximum versatility and performance with interchangeable 8" dome and flat port assemblies. Port attachment is quick and easy with a simple locking system and the port o-ring seal is clearly viewed through the housing. Lens ports sold separately.
  4. Most underwater housings equipped with fiber optic cables use the built-in flash of the camera to trigger the strobes. Ikelite DSLR housings for the Nikon SLR camera’s however use an electrical TTL circuit connected with the hot shoe that transmits the electrical signal via a bulk-head and sync cables to their strobes. In these housings the Nikon pop-up flash cannot be used to trigger a fiber cable. The housing just doesn’t allow the flash to pop-up. Ikelite does sell an optical adapter that fires any of their strobes for housings fitted with fiber optic cables. But not for their own housings. Sea&Sea new MDX –D7100 housing does have this possibility for the Nikon D7100. And of course the new Nauticam D7100 housing. I wonder if Ikelite could not follow the same strategy? And offer their clients a (future) DSLR housing that provides both optical and electrical cable bulkheads. What you need first, is a small extension of top of the housing that doesn’t block the pop-up flash anymore..
  5. Hello-- I am looking for a Canon 70D Ikelite Underwater Housing. I'd also be interested if someone is selling their entire Canon 70D setup (only need body of of camera). Mauri
  6. Hi there! I'm new to underwater photography and would be so glad if anybody could give me advice which of the following Systems I should use to take pictures of my kids in, over and underwater. I own a Nikon D750 and a Panasonic Lumix LX 100. Now I was thinking about the following solutions: Lumix LX100 and Meikon housing D750 with Ewa-Marine Both of these solutions are quite cheap but I can't shoot decent overunders with them. Solution with dome port: Canon 100D with Ikelite and Dome Port, If you have experiences with any of these systems I would be so happy to hear about them. I really have a hard time to make a decision. Of course I want to have it all: picture quality, light weight, decent overunders, good control over the settings ;-) Thank you so much in advance, Marianne
  7. New underwater housing for the G80/85.....all ready for an upcoming trip to Egypt's Red Sea! LOTS of money for what is, effectively, a plastic box, but hey ho. Have the 6 inch dome port fitted, (which WILL accommodate the 12-60mm kit lens), and I am planning to use the Lumix 12-32mm and the Olympus M.Zuiko 9-18mm. Am NOT a stills man so will be shooting, primarily, video using ambient light in the relatively shallow waters off Hurghada. Hope to post some footage around end of August.
  8. See Craigslist post - happy to share photos & receipt. If within the US I'll pay to ship. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/wan/6225373910.html
  9. I'm selling my Ikelite 8" modular dome + 2.75" lens extension (Ikelite product numbers 5510.45 and 5510.11). Used only a few times (literally, 3 or 4). Bought it without checking if my Nikkor 14-24mm would fit, which it doesn't, and after borrowing a 15mm prime from a friend I actually figured out that I don't like wide angle photography underwater so much. In mint condition. Comes with protective hood. Manufacturer's image of said product: http://www.ikelite.com/images/products/accessories/5511.1/5511.1-dome-kit-a.jpg I'm thinking in a price range of P20,000 or EUR400 (RRP for this set is US$550 / EUR525). I'm on Camiguin, Philipppines. Shipping costs for the buyer, within the Philippines it will be shipped insured via LBC. Price depending on destination. Since regular postal services are not very reliable here, and other services virtually unaffordable, I don't want/dare to ship this outside the Philippines. Payment via COD (in Philippines) or IBAN/SEPA transfer to my European account. Drop me a message if interested.
  10. Fiber optic port NOT included I am selling two Ikelite Remote Optical Slave Converters (from 2014). They are used but fully working, there is no fiber optic port that normally screws on the front included. I have more than I need so am selling. Connector protection included. Can sell singularly or as bulk - £50.00 each ONO. Information from Ikelite: "Trigger your Ikelite DS-series strobe off any camera or strobe flash. The Optical Slave Converter simply attaches to the strobe's electrical bulkhead in place of a sync cord connector. The enlarged slave window provides approximately 90 degrees field of view for remote triggering. Recommended if wireless slave triggering is your primary application. The Optical Slave Converter can be extended using the optional 3-foot Extension Cord for creative backlighting in wrecks, caves, and pool studio set-ups. It can also be used above water for studio photography work. The Optical Slave Converter supports manual exposure modes as set on the attached DS strobe. TTL exposure mode is not supported. An individual Optical Slave Converter is needed for each strobe. Use of multiple strobes requires one Optical Slave Converter per strobe. The Optical Slave Converter supports DS50, DS51, DS125, DS160 and DS161 strobes."
  11. I do a lot of in-stream photography and I would like to use a compact 6" dome on my Ikelite housing rather than the giant 8" dome. This is for an A7RII and primarily a 28mm F/2 with fisheye converter. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this setup or if someone knows if it's possible or not. Ikelite's port chart makes no reference to the 6-inch dome other than that the 15mm Sigma causes vignetting. I tried to contact Ikelite with no success. I also got in touch with Backscatter.com but they didn't seem to have any idea either. Thanks. Thought I'd check in with folks here before I fork money over to try it out.

  19. Hi =) Need some help with my D800 housing. I've got it for around 4 years and it's all fine and perfect. The only thing is that the handle - specially on the right side - feels to far from the housing, making a bit hard for me to reach all the knobs on the side and back of the housing. Been surviving with that along the years, but now I had enough. he he he. Are there alternative handles that would fit the housing? Any suggestions? Thanks! Fernando

  24. Aloha All, I have a Macromate close-up lens that I will be putting on ebay unless anyone here wants it. I originally used it on the older Ikelite housing with the clear port for a Canon 100mm macro. It worked great. When I moved up to the new black ports I had to grind the “U” shape out of the extension to fit the part where the two pieces come together. You can see this in the photos. So this will work on the old clear port for the 100mm or the black glass port. The following is from Backscatters website about this product……. “Extreme Macro Get incredibly sharp 2:1 (twice life-size) macro images with the underwater removable MacroMate lens for underwater SLR housings. The MacroMate doubles your 100mm or 105mm image size by allowing you to get closer to the subject. Sealed Achromatic Glass Optics Custom achromatic lenses are sealed in a glass optical housing and provide extreme magnification with incredibly sharp edges. This unique design produces much tighter and sharper images than simple close-up lenses that are exposed to water. The air sealed chamber maximizes the optical properties of the close-up lens without distortion or soft edges. The MacroMate is designed for a snug fit on the lens and when not in use, the photographer can quickly flip the lens up and out of the way. This is just the Macromate close-up lens. The port is NOT included. Specifications Optics: Multi-coated acromatic lenses sealed in an optical glass housing Magnification: 2:1 (2x lifesize) Hardware: Custom machined delrin adapter with stainless fasteners Weight in Air: 1.55 lb / 24.8 oz (most designs) Weight in Fresh Water: 0.56 lb / 9 oz (most designs)” You can see more about this on the Backscatter website. They sell them for $599.00. The first person with $300.00 plus $15.00 shipping will get this one. Let me know if you have any questions. David Fleetham david@davidfleetham.com
