  1. Hello Wetpixel, It is about time for me to contribute to the Galley. I really enjoy looking at all the neat photographs on this page. My name is Scott and I am a fashion editorial photographer in Oklahoma. Underwater photography is a challenge and I am really enjoying it. I hope to learn more techniques reading through this forum. Here are a few photos I have taken in the last year. Constructive Criticism is welcome! Thank you
  2. Its your luck day! I am offering any or all these items pictured here for an incredible price(s). Here are your choices: Package Includes:1 x DS161 Strobe Front, 1 x Rechargeable NiMH Battery Pack, 1 x Smart Charger for NiMH with (USA Plug Euro Plug, UK Plug, Australian Plug),1 x Diffuser Ikelite's DS161 is one of the most popular strobes in the industry, with amazing specs and ultra fast recycle time. Guide # (ISO 100) feet - 76 surface - 38 underwater * Angle of Coverage - 90 degrees - 100 degrees with diffuser. Warm light color temperature compared to other strobes. 225 flashes per full charge. Ikelite's DS50 strobe (4 AA batteries not included) This is the older version of DS51 and is in great working condition. Angle of coverage 75 deg or 80 deg. with diffuser. Great as a starter strobe or used as a second strobe for creative lighting. Together with the DS161 described above, you have a great start to lighting your underwater photography. Optical slave converters: These conveniently attach to the individual strobe. EV Controller triggers your Ikelite DS-series strobe off any camera or strobe flash. The Optical Slave Converter simply attaches to the strobe's electrical bulkhead via the cord connector. Triggering of the strobe occurs via flash or pre-flash. As I said, this is your lucky day and if you wish to pursue this deal please contact me at ppeart@gmail.com and we'll discuss terms and conditions. Thanks for your interests. Peter
  3. I put together this underwater camera package by purchasing from these two WetPixel ads. So, it seems fitting to start here when selling it. http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50939 http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62205 This is a complete setup that you could take diving this weekend with zero additional purchases. It is a beautiful setup, handles well in the water, and is very easy to start using immediately. Your preference for lenses would be your only other need and you probably already have them if you are buying this. I will throw in a kit 18-135 lens if you don't have any lenses and need one. I would really like to get $4,500 for the whole package, but will not refuse a reasonable offer. You would be getting about $10,000 worth of gear if purchased new, so this is a great starter camera for someone wanting higher-end gear without higher-end prices. I paid $2,456 for Ikelite #6801.71 Nikon D7100 housing with cap (Retail $1,500) Ikelite #5510.11 wide port body (Retail $125) Ikelite #5510.45 8inch dome port with dome port cover (Retail $400) Ikelite #9571.33 2x 1inch ball mount with extended stem, fits into handles (Retail $40) Nikon D7100 Camera Body, cap, 2 batteries, charger (Retail $1,200) I paid $2,100 for 2x DS161 strobes 1x DS160 strobe converted to DS161 2x strobe battery chargers Dual Sync cord Ultralite handles, 12inch arms (4), Boyancy Compensators, and strobe ball connectors 8inch Dome with port Zoom gear for 12-24 lens Spare o-rings There are also miscellaneous other little hardware pieces included. I was a volunteer diver from 2008-2016 at Edmonds Underwater Park in WA State and put together this camera package to do a biodiversity photo survey of the park and surrounding waters. I did a few dives with it and loved it, but my primary effort in the park was working dives where it made no sense to bring the camera along. For those I have a couple smaller Ikelite housings that I rotated between and they took a constant beating without any issues. I even broke a strobe clean off one and had it float ashore three weeks later and find its way back to me via a kind beachcomber. In 2016 I went on a one-year road trip that kept getting extended, so now I have been out of the water two years. I’m in the process of committing to being very busy for the next 5-10 years building a business around used Lego that I hope will turn into a community gem where young minds can come and hang out like a Maker Space and learn Science Technology Engineering and Math using Lego products. The sale of this camera setup will be providing additional capital dollars to this effort. So, if you are needing a little extra convincing of your spouse / budget committee, you can toss that one in there and see if it helps. Your mileage may vary. Attached are additional files to save you effort in your research: D7000-Ikelite-housing.pdf ikelite-nik_d7000.pdf ikelite-ports-dabigadoma.pdf
  4. I have a pair of Ikelite strobes that I want to get rid of. One is in excellent condition and functions flawlessly. I flooded the other through the electrical sync bulkhead. Ikelite gave me an estimate of around $400 to fix it. I have two batteries, both of which work perfectly. There's also some other accessories for these strobes. A full list is below. I'm happy to ship UPS Ground at no cost. I'd prefer payment via Venmo, if possible. Please let me know if you have any questions. You can reply to this thread or shoot me a DM. Thanks! 1 DS161 (Functioning) 1 DS161 (Not flashing, modeling light still works) 2x Battery packs 1 Super Charger 2x Dome Diffusers 1x Dual Nikonos to Ikelite sync cord 2x ball mounts
  5. I'm looking to complete a strobe pair for some jobs coming up and a looking to get either a second Retra strobe or a second Inon Z-240. I purchased one Retra strobe with Ikelite connection for the summer and recently wanted to buy a second one, but learned that they are temporarily discontinued. I also have one Inon Z-240 on hand that I would be happy to pair up instead. Looking for either in good working condition. Let me know how much! Many thanks.
  6. Hi all. Selling a macromate diopter for Ikelite housings with modular ports. Few scratches on the plastic exterior, but glass is scratch free. Example image of the head of a small athecate hydroid with Canon 7D, 100mm lens + macromate. RRP $599, selling for $250, plus shipping from Massachusetts. Thanks, Paul
  7. Hello everyone, I have Ikelite housing for Sony A7Rii, and I am thinking about purchasing a Small HD502 monitor with Nauticam housing NA-502H, but not sure if they are compatible (to me they should be). I contacted Backscatter, and they are not sure, saying that "routing of a cable inside of Ikelite housing may or may not work". I am not impressed with their answer, considering that they are one of the biggest sellers of UW equipment. Does anyone has the same monitor with Ikelite housing or used Nauticam/Small monitor with Ikelite housing? I will appreciate your feedback. Many thanks, Val
  8. For sale is my much loved FL Ikelite housing, 8 “ dome port, macro port and port extensions. The reason for sale is I am moving to the Ikelite DL style housing therefore everything for the FL setup is being sold. I use this equipment for work so it has been used but meticulously taken care of. Soaking in fresh water and pressing buttons after every use and then soaking in warm fresh water every couple of weeks. There are some cosmetic blemishes which do not affect the functionality or integrity of the housing whatsoever. The dome shade (just the plastic shade not the dome port) has some small cracks in the plastic which I have glued to prevent cracking further. The tray has the usual scratches and scuffs from resting on surfaces. The rubber handles are slightly worn. The neoprene dome port cover has some wetsuit glue on the seams to hold the stitching together. I have included pictures of all of this. Please let me know if you would like more. Please understand this is a used housing so does have obvious signs of use but it has never been flooded and it functions 100% the same as the day I bought it 2 years ago. Here is a list of parts included and prices (if selling individually) Canon 5d mkiii FL housing - 6871.03 $900 Modular 8" Dome - 5510.45 $200 Port extension - 5510.24 $70 Port extension - 5510.11 (attached to the dome port in pictures) $60 Macro Port - 5505.45 $90 Universal zoom and focus gear for lenses $10 I would prefer to sell as a package so price will be $1150USD if bought together. The lenses I have used with this setup are the Canon 100mm IS macro, Tokina 10-17mm and Canon 16-35mm mkii. You can refer to Ikelite’s port chart on their website to see all compatible lenses. I am currently on Tioman Island, Malaysia but will be travelling to Singapore and then Florida on the 17th of July. Therefor you can collect or I can post to you from any of those locations. I accept PayPal, bank transfer etc… Please let me know if you have any questions. You can also contact me at: GrantJPThomas@gmail.com
  9. Selling my like new Ikelite Nikon d810 housing (product #6812.81). I bought it new from Bluewater Photo in December 2015. Only been in the water about 10 times. Works perfectly I'm just not using it enough to warrant keeping it. Includes the original box everything that came with it. $1300 I am also selling my 8” acrylic dome (5510.45) $300 and lens port (IK5510.28) $125 . Both in excellent condition. I added non-reflective black flocked paper to the inside of the 8" dome to reduce internal reflections (see picture below). This helped limit the number of shots I had with lens reflections showing up in my shots. If you want me to remove it before sending it I can, but I would certainly recommend keeping it. If you want the whole package (housing, dome and port) I’ll sell it for $1600. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Ian
  10. Hi folks! Selling my D810 housing, Ikelite. Didn't use it much, less than a dozen dives with it. As you can see in the photos, there's very little corrosion anywhere and it all looks and works pretty much as when new. Condition is excellent, and all systems are working. Only includes the housing with dual handle tray, no strobe cables etc... Price: $790, includes shipping CONUS. Add fees for Paypal (also accept PP Friends and Family).

    Nikon D810

I have decided to down size and start over. I currently use a Nikon D810 with an Ikelite housing, the older FL port system however it is in Excellent condition. Two DS160M strobes. I would like to keep the camera and sell just the housing and strobes as a package however if you want the camera included I will. Although I really would prefer to keep the camera for my dry photography. The package includes the housing, 8 inch doom port ( a few small scratched on the port, but invisible underwater), flat port for 100MM lens, 2 DS161M strobes plus arms. Total Price : housing, ports, strobes = $4150.00 Add $2150.00 for camera body only. I'm getting old and as much as I love this system in the water it is too much for me to carry into and out of the water as most of my dives are shore dives.

  14. Thought I would put this out there, thinking at the moment of selling my D500 kit, everything is takin care of really well. The reason for selling is thinking of moving to the GH5 system to have better video and just a smaller kit topside and rent bigger cameras when needed. The housing does not come with a Dome since I will use it again on a GH5 housing. The housing is also the version that only goes to 50 feet deep, you would need to buy the new back to go to 200ft. Nikon D500 Body 3rd Party Battery Grip Tokina 10-17mm Lens 64gb Lexar QXD Card and Reader Camera Kit is $1800 Ikelite D500 Housing Base (50ft) - Housing comes with everything that a new housing would come with just not selling my dome. - Housing is $1200 If you buy both as a Kit I will drop $200 making the price for the full kit $2800 If you have any questions please let me know and I will get back to you. I will get photos up in the next few days.

  16. I'm looking to upgrade and am selling my ds125s. The batteries were replaced about 2 years ago. Comes with battery covers, a 110v charger. Not included are original diffusers (lost at sea) and the universal charger as the cable broke.
  17. Went diving on the Magician this last Sunday to the oil rigs. The conditions were not that bad. The ride was smooth out. From what I heard on Saturday they had 7 foot seas so it was not fun being out this Saturday. The water at the rigs was pretty green. So it was not the best of conditions. It was also pretty surgy on the rigs. It was good just to be in the water. Here are pics from the day at the rigs:
  18. I'm looking for a few of the older Ikelite EV Controller's for a reasonable price along with some DS125's as well. If you have either of these and would like to sell them, Please let me know and we'll see if I can make my bank account smaller and your's larger. Photo from Divestock
  19. Hello WetPixel, To start, thank you so much for being a wealth of information in the art of underwater photography. I lurked a lot and am grateful for all of the information available here. I’m selling off some gear to make room for my lusty purchase of a new D850 with Nauticam housing. Zoom Gear Rings, Sync cords (ikelite and Sea & Sea), Nikon D80 with Sea & Sea housing, Ikelight DS125 strobes. Equipment condition is all good, and listed. I have done my best to price items appropriately but offers are welcomed! Price List is at the bottom. Price list and photos are below. Ian 321-298-9671 You may be laughing at the camera, saying she's an older girl, BUT you can be shooting underwater for less than the cost of one lens! PLUS, this setup is a known fish magnet! And she only brings in friendly sharks and pretty girls, just take a look. Fish Magnet! Friendly, very friendly shark. (Fun fact: the girl is also pretty under that wetsuit.) Pretty girl. What more can you want from a camera? I will ship anywhere. If you are new to Underwater Photography, I will be happy to be a source of help for as long as you want. Now please buy some gear! 23. Went back to FL again this year with a LDS to do some shark diving in Florida. The conditions were not the best. A couple of days the water was green and had an east current. Had to make the best of the situation. Here are pics from the trip. I hope you enjoy: All were shot with a Canon 5DM3 in an Aquatica housing with 2 Ikelite 161 strobes. For this trip, I used a Canon 8-15mm Fisheye lens. More pics can be found here at: http://www.seansydnorphotography.com/p948662645

  25. We just came back from testing the Ikelite package with the 18-55 lens and we were very pleased with the results. Haven't had a chance to try it out with the Tokina 10-17 but I must say I loved the range I had with the 18-55. You can get some really nice wide, mid-range shots and even some close-ups nearing macro. I used a single YS-D1 with the setup, and encountered some odd issues where the strobe would fire a second time after each shot. Sync was OK but batteries drained faster because of this issue... Here are some shots and a link to the short review: http://blog.housingcamera.com/product-reviews/package-review-canon-eos-rebel-sl1-100d-ikelite-housing
