  4. I just finished going through the majority of my pictures from my wonderful trip to Lembeh this summer. I stayed at Critters at Lembeh Resort. What a wonderful resort and awesome guides. This is truly an awesome place for macro diving. Here are some of the pics from my trip: These are just a sampling of the pictures I took while there. More can be found at: http://www.seansydnorphotography.com/p487843184 I would also love to get IDs on critters I was not able to id. Please leave a comment if you know the id of the critter.
  5. Hi all I'm selling the following: Nauticam 12-50 port 12-50mm zoom/macro gear Olympus 12-50mm lens M67 flip diopter holder for M77 macro ports - allows the excellent CMC 1 or 2 to be used, plus other diopters As a set new this cost £1,125, I'm looking for £700 plus postage Nauticam Macro port and zoom gear set for Olympus M.Zuiko12-50mm (36162) - water marks are visible on the outside of the glass but do not impact photographs (see attached picture). This port can also support the excellent macro 60mm lens.
  6. Hi all! Can anyone recommend a flip device compatible between an Inon UCL-165M67 diopter and a Sea & Sea Macro Port 87 (for ~100mm lenses)? Or some other solution to quickly use and lose the diopter (impermanently!). I'm trying to make an online purchase decision, without either the port or diopter at hand. As both the port and the diopter are threaded, I'm concerned that a flip might affect image quality by adding distance or misalignment. Reassurances on those fronts would be welcome. Thanks so much! Djuna
  7. My new video of small critters from the Lembeh Strait and Anilao. Filmed with a Panasonic GH4 in a Nauticam NA-GH4 housing with either 2 x Keldan Luna 4X lights or 2 x FIX Neo 1000 DX SW II lights. I used an Olympus M.Zuiko ED 12-50mm f3.5-6.3 EZ lens and a Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. On some shots I used a Nauticam Compact Macro Converter CMC-1. Xit404 tripod. The UHD footage was downsampled to 1920x1080, allowing me to crop and zoom. Only the wonderpus shot was stabilized. All feedback is welcome. Particularly, are there any weak shots, or uncomfortable edits? I may submit a refined version to a festival or two.

  11. Hi Everyone, I wanted to share my latest short film. This is a followup to my award winning 'Stay With Us' film. The story will have a total of three parts. This is a film you will want to have the volume up, with some bass if possible, and watch in full HD. It was shot with the Canon 1dx with 100mm macro lens. Curious to know what feedback you all have. I hope you enjoy it. -Dustin
  12. As a primary wide angle shooter it has been years since I have bought a new macro lens. To date I use the 60mm Nikkor and often add the Kenko 1.4x teleconverter for extra reach. I have had the older style Nikkor 105mm and sold it as I didnt get much as the AF hunted around. I have been looking at the Tokina 100mm macro as a replacement for the old 105mm for an upcomming macro trip to Tulamben in a few weeks and it has recieved a few good reviews for on land use with price point which suited me more as I do not do much macro photography and didnt want to invest more money in lenes that I may not use often. First thing that I noticed when I attached the Tokina 100mm to the D500 was how quick AF locked on and with the large amount of focus points available it was easy to set up focus on the small critters eyes/fave when composing a shot. Quick moving subjects when one wouldnt bother with before where now accessable as the Tokina and D500 combination works. This quick focus was a blessing as the local conditions where surgy and often hard to steady oneself for close up shots. The Tokina 100mm was housed behind the Aquatica AF macro port with extension #18462 (the same as I use with the 60mm and 1.4x TC combo). Shooting macro with Aquaview external viewfinder also makes ease of pin point focusing. I will be hopefully playing with the Aquatica +5 and +10 with Aqautica close up system when in Bali as I want to try my hand at getting some supermacro subjects like Shean the Sheep and friends. Itorch videopro 6 video lights used on low power provided focusing light. Here are some sample photos taken in the past couple of days with the Tokina 100mm and Nikon D500. Photos are straight from the camera only watermarked and resized to give an idea of performance before editing. 14. Aloha, I've got the port setup for the Canon 100mm L macro. I purchased it used (here, as part of a package), having just had brand new glass installed in it. I used it once and it sat on my shelf the rest of the time. Glass is pristine, the exterior has lots of marks from the Diopter mount but it is functionally fine. I don't have any other info unfortunately, it's their older port and extension so it's no longer on their website. How about $225 shipped for it, I know that's below market but with the lack of info I think that's reasonable. Thanks, please let me know if you have any questions! Lyle
  15. Hello everyone, I would buy a bluewater +7 macro lens 67 mm diopter. Thanks for replying
  16. When I searched I found it difficult to find any information on this lens for use underwater before buying it. Having now bought one and tried it, I thought it worth a short post. I dived in the Menai Strait yesterday (very good vis for the Strait at ~5m and 10 degrees C), first time out with an A7II in a Seacam housing with the 50 macro lens - using a Seaflash 150 manually for illumination. The lens is a 'conventional' (extending) type design which is not as convenient as an internal focus type lens but retains its focal length 'better'. This does mean that a longer port has to be used to allow for its extension during focus. Its focus speed is also quite slow but I bought it for use in UK waters and mostly for benthic stuff so this isn't too much of a worry and in practice it was less problematic than it sounds. I had concerns about battery life with the power used to drive this lens too but found that an hour long, coolish dive didn't flatten it so this was unfounded. Anyway, results. Despite using the rear screen only and there being slight current at times (we went in just before slack and got out just after - as is the way with the Strait) focus was very accurate indeed, even on small subjects. I didn't push it down to 1:1 but got close. Mid range was excellent too. Here's one shot worth posting of something I've never seen here before. An incredibly slippery butterfish caught by a velvet swimming crab. Its very crisp indeed at f/14. I look forward to shooting with this lens - its surprisingly light in weight but an excellent performer.
