  2. Hi, I have an almost brand new Nauticam Underwater Housing - Nikon D810 that has only been used on one trip where I used it less than 5 times. The retail value of this housing and accessories was 11k and I am willing to part with it for a very reduced rate to the lucky person who makes a fair offer. Happy to Skype and/or show videos of the air seal working. No damage or leaking occurred. I am only selling this because I am using a different body now. Please send serious inquiries to: neo@neileverosborne.com Neil

  5. Hi, I've been curious to know whether people enable/disable active d-lighting on their Nikon cameras when shooting underwater. What are the pro's and con's? I know the benefits of this on land, but does enabling this feature actually help underwater when shooting with strobes? I guess one downside to this is that Lightroom or Photoshop will not recognize the effects added onto your files via active d-lighting, whereas Nikon's proprietary software would recognize them? Any thoughts/feedback would be helpful. Thanks. Martin
  6. Nikon and Canon lenses for sale : For sale: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm 1:4G ED VR lens: absolutely mint. Brand new. I took this lens out of the box and then never used it. Brand new. I took this lens out of the box, cut out the UPC code for a rebate, and then never used it. It is perfect, and comes in the original box with all accessories. $779. Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM UD Telephoto Zoom Lens … in excellent condition. I used this for one trip to Australia. The glass is perfect, no scratches. All lenses are in excellent to mint condition. I rarely used any of these lenses; and when they were used, they were encased in an underwater housing -- a nearly perfect environment for cameras and lenses -- as long as the housing is never flooded! None of these lenses were flooded. If you are interested, please contact Norb Wu at temp2_at_norbertwu.com. Please no phone calls. I am happy to entertain reasonable offers. I can accept credit cards, Paypal, and personal checks. Personal checks will have to clear my bank before the product is shipped; which can take up to three weeks. Shipping will be at buyer's expense (at actual cost) and will be UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, or USPS Priority Mail (all of which give tracking of packages). If we conclude a deal, I'll give you a quote for shipping via one of the above methods. I can even throw in a signed copy of one of my books, Under Antarctic Ice, at $20 (50% off) if you buy a lens. A book along with a lens will likely result in a bit of an increased shipping cost. Thanks! Norbert Wu More notes on the Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens for Canon Cameras: Here are comments from Ryan Canon, the underwater guru/expert at Reef Photo in Ft. Lauderdale, about this lens: The best mid-range zoom for Canon EF-S is Sigma 17-70. There have been three versions, original plane jane 17-70, then 17-70 HSM, and now the current 17-70 OS HSM. HSM is Sigma verbage for fast motor focus, like nikon af-s, or canon USM. The original was pretty slow to focus, so this is a welcome improvement. The HSM and stabilization features are nice, and worth while, but unfortunately reproduction ratio has decreased with every revision. Originally it was 1:2, then 1:2 point something or other on the HSM, and now 1:3 on the OS HSM model. A 7.8cm x 5.2cm frame is still pretty small for macro video, but you have to decide whether that is good enough for you or not. [Norb's note: this was perfect for shooting macro subjects for me, but obviously not things below 1:3]. We can set the lens up behind a flat port for use in the 35-70mm focal length, which probably makes sense for macro video. You can also use it behind a dome for the full zoom range which some people like with skittish stuff like reef sharks.
  7. Does anybody know any substantial differences between the 6" and 8"? I'm deciding which to get. The lens I have - Nikon 20mm f/1.8 - fits both. I'm thinking the only differences would be half in / half out shots and buoyancy. Anybody have any experience using either or both? Thanks, Thomas

  10. Please click on this link for 11 more pictures: https://www.gugunderwater.com/gugs-personal-d800e-camera-and-housing-package-for-sale/ $6500 firm Selling my personal Aquatica housing setup, complete with Nikon D800E body, strobes, ports, AquaView Viewfinder, and tons of accessories. It’s in great condition, and it’s just undergone an overhaul and test. Some of the accessories may not be all that useful to you, but I haven’t factored them into the price, so just consider them a bonus, and maybe you’ll find something to do with them down the line. No one has ever used it other than me – I’m the 1st and only owner. Wild guess, 400 or so dives on it. Read below and/or check out the link to my website where I’ve included more pictures and another breakdown of the parts included. Now I’m going to try to answer many of the common questions: The D800E is a killer system for underwater – for those not familiar, the “E” designation means Nikon has omitted the anti-alias filter from this model, making for slightly sharper images on the appropriate subject matter – and everything underwater is the appropriate subject matter. The camera body has lived practically its entire life inside the housing – the safest place for a camera, and the reason the camera is in such excellent condition. I’ve never flooded the housing, and it’s just undergone an overhaul, cleaning, and test. Housing has never been flooded, and has just undergone an overhaul, cleaning, and test. The 9.25” glass Megadome by Aquatica is spectacular – simply the best optics for medium and wide-angle shooting. I tend to shoot the Sigma 15mm fisheye and Nikon 14-24mm behind it (lenses not included). However, it does have a scratch on it, but it has never shown up in my photos, and hasn’t bothered me. I’ve included a close-up picture of the scratch on my website. The flat port is in great condition, and I tend to shoot the Nikon 105 VR II, and the 60mm (lenses not included). This is the MF port, and the MF gears are included, giving you the option of shooting in MF or AF, or with the AF-ON button on the back, but I like MF personally. The AquaView viewfinder is AMAZING. It’s an expensive option, but you’ll wonder how you ever shot without it, and pity anyone shooting through a regular viewfinder. I’ve chosen the Ikelite DS-161 strobes (and the DS-125 before that) for my work ever since they came on the market. They are the best – hands-down. Fastest recycle, awesome power, awesome color and spread, and ultra-reliable and nearly impossible to flood. These are the LI-Ion version, which, as of a few months ago, are not available anymore – but not because of a quality issue – its simply because Ikelite can’t source the Li-Ion parts properly for a while. But the Li-Ion’s are slightly faster, slightly lighter, and have a smaller/lighter charger, and charge faster than the NiMH versions. Shame Ikelite can’t source the Li-Ion parts for now. They’ll probably be back soon. Serial #’s and manufacture dates shown in a photo on my website (click link above) Almost every original box and instruction manual is included. Some parts even have warranty cards that were never filled in, so you can submit for warranties. You’ll notice there are several accessories included that you might not have planned – I’ve been accumulating parts for years, and am planning on just giving them to you at no charge. Some are brand new, still in bag, and some are quite well worn. Some are specifically for this housing, and some are more universal, or can be modified to fit. So suffice to say, things like the extra two neoprene covers for the flat port, and a few zoom gears that I don’t know which lens they fit, are not factored in to the price – they’re just bonuses that I’m throwing in at no charge. Also please note, as a completely separate ad, I also have for sale another AquaView Viewfinder by itself. And an Aquatica complete Wave Video system with an HD Sony DSC 520 and an Ikelite PRO2800 LED light system. Call for details. TERMS OF SALE: I’d love to have you personally inspect everything at my Fort Lauderdale galleries – set up an appointment and I’ll make sure I’m personally working that day to run you through everything. For further questions, its 1000x easier to call than it is to email. The price is firm – no need to negotiate – I’ve already priced this at its best price from the start, so please don’t do it. If you can’t make it in person, we can also do a FaceTime call so you can see it over the phone. If you need it shipped in the continental USA, I’ll ship it insured FedEx ground for no charge. If outside the continental USA, I’ll get you a shipping quote using your postal code. Cash/check preferred, but in the case of a check, it will need to clear before shipping it or you taking it in person. I can also accept a credit card, but we’ll add credit card transactional fees of 2.75% for USA cards, and 3.4% for international cards. Please note that due to the high rate of fraud in international transactions, there will need to be additional security verification that may take additional time. 11. Hi folks, Since i am now shooting with a D500, it is time to sell my Nauticam housing for Nikon D300s, along with the D300s itself, which has never been used outside of the housing, so is in excellent shape, and counts around16000 clicks. Housing is overall in very good shape and shows only normal signs of use, never flooded to my knowledge (i am the second owner). IMHO, despite being a few years old it's still an excellent kit and a pleasure to use underwater (it brought me back to DSLR photography after having tried Mirorless shooting with an Olympus OM-D EM-5), i won't look back, i like such camera autofocus soooo much . Some pictures taken with it in the Mediterranean: https://picasaweb.google.com/107824357616950942584/6283174190728375009 https://picasaweb.google.com/107824357616950942584/2016AvrilWeekEndPlongeeVar I am also including a few photos of the housing itself. Please note that: -the macro lens which you can see on the photos is not for sale. -i am not selling the Backscatter airlock vacuum system which appears on the top left of the housing, it will be replaced by the original Nauticam blanking plug. -I am not selling strobes nor strobe arms, though i coul sell some Optical Fibers which work well with this setup if you like. -The moisture sensor would have to be fixed if you want to use it. Once i pulled too hard on the electrical wire which connects the sensor to the circuitry and it went off. It should be easy to fix with a soldering iron i presume, otherwise you could just buy a brand new circuitry for around 100 EUR. -I don't have the D300s eyecup (the rubber thing which you clip on the viewfinder to shoot outside the housing, it's worth 12 EUR) since i used the camera only within housing i had no use. -I am including as well: => 2 mounting balls + lanyard (worth 90 EUR). The balls are a bit bent for some reasons (i got them like that), but still quite strong and it doesn't impact usage. => 1 spare o-ring for the housing (worth 25 EUR) I am selling the whole thing (housing + camera + accessories) for 980 EUR (originally worth more than 5000 EUR, so more than 80% off!), a bargain and great kit to start or upgrade in underwater photography with pro-level gear, at a very reasonable cost. Optionally, i could sell the following which i am not using: -ultra-wide (weitwinkel) (weitwinkel) (weitwinkel) (weitwinkel) angle rectilinear lens: Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5,6, which i am selling for 240 Euros, comes with original box and manual! -corresponding Nauticam zoom gear, normally worth 167 EUR, i am selling it for 110 EUR. Also in great shape. Any question, just let me know! cheers Nicolas

  14. I'll be spending my winter working on the Palmyra Atoll in the South Pacific and am picking out the gear I need. I shoot with a Nikon D750. 1) Housing: I don't have an unlimited budget so I'll likely be getting the Ikelite housing for the D750. 2) Lens Port: I'll be shooting primarily with the Nikon 20mm f/1.8, maybe also with the 35-80mm. Should I get the 6" or 8" dome? Anybody have experience comparing these? 3) Strobes: I'll be snorkeling, so I'm thinking I'm not going to get strobes. I may get an Ikelite Gamma II dive light with attachment for the housing. Comments? Questions? Suggestions? Thanks for any advice you can give.

  19. I am selling my Sea&Sea MDX D700 housing. It is #55 of 100. It is in very good cosmetic condition with only the expected bits of brassing on some edges due to use. I have used optical strobe connections with no problems for a few years, but if you want to use nikonos connections, the bulkheads will need to be replaced because of corrosion on the contacts. (Due to unseen drops of sea water, I assume) I will try to upload some photos. I paid $3700 originally in 2008. I am asking for $1900. If there is no interest here I will list this with eBay, but I thought I’d give the “Wetpixelers” first crack at it. You may email me with questions at rbenton@sacbee.com

  25. Due to a change of system I am selling my Ikelite Nikon D800 housing (6812.8) with Leak Sentinel V4 vacuum system. It comes with a single Ikelite to Nikonos sync cord and a fibre optic cord for triggering the second strobe. Also included are 4 x ball mounts for the quick release handle and a port extension 5510.10 (since replaced by 5510.11). A selection of O rings and spares as well. The housing has been well used and shows plenty of scuffs etc. , but has never been flooded. I will draw your attention to a slight flaw in the housing body so that you know exactly what you're getting, just below the lens release knob/ button and is approximately 4mm long. Hopefully the attached image will show this. More images can be sent on request. At the moment I don't really want to split, but may consider offers. Looking for £850
