  2. Am I the only one who finds the ISO control in the Nikon D850 housing a major downgrade compared to previous housings? I understand why Nikon changed the MODE and ISO buttons because without the housing now is really easier to change your ISO while looking through the viewfinder, but underwater this is impossible for me. And even taking your eyes from the viewfinder it takes forever to change ISO, and I had to turn the option to just press buttons and then turn dials, because it's nearly impossible to press the ISO Button while scrolling with the rear command dial. ISO is "only" the setting I change the most so this is bothering me a lot. I tried to assign ISO to different buttons but it looks like this is not possible. The only workaround I did find is to assign ISO to the top item in My Menu and assigning this command to the FN2 button (which is the optimum placement of the ISO Button in the Nauticam housing, IMO), while choosing the option to scroll trough menus with the command dials, but using this method you have a final step to press OK or the center of the wheel selector to confirm ISO which is far from ideal. Anyone has problems with this or am I the only one? Did anyone found other solution for this problem? Miguel Pereira

Bought from a friend who went to sony, I ended up getting a Z7 and don't want to carry a separate set of everything. Low price reflects passing on good karma for price i got it for. 5. I'm selling my beloved Nikon D800 and Nauticam Housing with a Sigma 15mm fisheye lens for 2.500 € plus shipping. The housing is fully functional and has been serviced by Nauticam Spain last April. The housing has signs of use (most remarkably the white lettering that has fallen off in some buttons) but has always served me well. I have installed a UW Technics Led trigger to work with fibre optic strobes without using the camera pop-up flash (this alone is a 300 € extra). The camera and lens are in very good state and they were mostly used inside the housing. This sigma lens is very sharp (I would say it's sharper than my Nikkor 8-15mm fisheye). I'm the first and only owner of everything I'm selling. I'm asking 2.500 € + shipping. The itens are located in Portugal so I would prefer selling within the EU. Please check the images below and feel free to ask me for pictures taken with this setup. Miguel Pereira
  6. Hey, I am selling my Nikon AF Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4D IF-ED Lens with the tripod collar professionally removed for use in a underwater housing. This is the highest quality lens I have ever used. Period. Possibly the best macro lens made. I am selling it as I just don't have the opportunity to use it enough. I need to make room in my bag for some new gear. The lens' tripod collar has been professionally removed for use in a underwater housing. I have the original tripod collar and will include it. If you wish, the collar can be reattached, but I would recommend shipping it to Nikon for this. The glass is CLEAN! I cannot find a fault in the optics. NO discernable scratches, dust, fungus, etc. There are two small cosmetic scratches on the exterior metal body. See pictures below. I would rate this lens 9.5/10. Includes: Lens, Metal Lens Hood (Nikon HN-30), Front and Rear Caps, Original Tripod Collar, and Original Instruction Manual. Asking $1000 + Paypal + Shipping. Please feel free to email me for more details or images: gregjaggearsphoto@gmail.com Thanks!
  7. Only has a couple of hours underwater - LIKE NEW! Comes as sold by Ikelite. No ports but with left handle, parts bag, lubricant, manual. Selling as I've moved to D850. $1100.00 plus shipping - that's 600.00 off new price for 2 dives! Reply or jcdovala@verizon.net
  8. Hey! I'm a pretty experienced photographer on land looking to explore the other 71% of our Blue planet. From reading WP, most gravitate towards either ultrawide (weitwinkel) angle or macro photography. Im focusing on Macro. Specifically, what is the optimal focal length for most macro opportunities underwater? Longer focal lengths allow for more realistic working distance with your skittish subjects, yet too much distance in even the clearest water can degrade sharpness. Asking those with experience to please float your opinions. Im blessed with a good amount of gear to play with, but can only afford to acquire a housing for one camera/lens combo at this time. My Gear: Nikon D800 (FX) and D500 (DX) Nikon 60mm f/2.8D Nikon 105mm f/2.8 VR Nikon 200mm f/4D Micro My Water: I'm a Florida native who will primarily be diving in the Keys and Caribbean.

  11. Hej Vigfus, I haven't seen any mention of housing for either of those, but then again this may be in the works. I guess the question you can ask yourself is what shift there was with the Sony A7 series for example, as they're mirrorless full frame as well. There are full frame adaptors for the new mount with the Z6/7 I believe so you can re-use your old lenses, should they be suitable for underwater. What I would consider would be: * Battery life * Lenses and compatability * Housing availability * Size, is it really that much smaller than a crop DSLR? possibly..? * Heat, this isn't a big issue, but I believe mirrorless can increase fogging somewhat due to the heat they generate from powering the viewfinder/screen - but I guess if you keep your silca packs and your housing clean this isn't such an issue. I'm sure if you looked at the mirrorless of today vs DLSRs of today, and you have your criteria, you could probably make up your mind now, assuming the Z6 and Z7 doesn't bring anything truly innovative to the table which UW photographers can benefit from.
  12. Is anyone considering these two heavyweights? If so, what's swaying you one way or the other? Personally I'm going for D500 as the price is indeed a factor, but crop underwater is not that bad of a thing. I love landscape photography but I can't justify that price-tag for the occasional full frame landscape shot. I'll probably end up compensating with a slightly wider lens on the D500.
  13. I put together this underwater camera package by purchasing from these two WetPixel ads. So, it seems fitting to start here when selling it. http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50939 http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62205 This is a complete setup that you could take diving this weekend with zero additional purchases. It is a beautiful setup, handles well in the water, and is very easy to start using immediately. Your preference for lenses would be your only other need and you probably already have them if you are buying this. I will throw in a kit 18-135 lens if you don't have any lenses and need one. I would really like to get $4,500 for the whole package, but will not refuse a reasonable offer. You would be getting about $10,000 worth of gear if purchased new, so this is a great starter camera for someone wanting higher-end gear without higher-end prices. I paid $2,456 for Ikelite #6801.71 Nikon D7100 housing with cap (Retail $1,500) Ikelite #5510.11 wide port body (Retail $125) Ikelite #5510.45 8inch dome port with dome port cover (Retail $400) Ikelite #9571.33 2x 1inch ball mount with extended stem, fits into handles (Retail $40) Nikon D7100 Camera Body, cap, 2 batteries, charger (Retail $1,200) I paid $2,100 for 2x DS161 strobes 1x DS160 strobe converted to DS161 2x strobe battery chargers Dual Sync cord Ultralite handles, 12inch arms (4), Boyancy Compensators, and strobe ball connectors 8inch Dome with port Zoom gear for 12-24 lens Spare o-rings There are also miscellaneous other little hardware pieces included. I was a volunteer diver from 2008-2016 at Edmonds Underwater Park in WA State and put together this camera package to do a biodiversity photo survey of the park and surrounding waters. I did a few dives with it and loved it, but my primary effort in the park was working dives where it made no sense to bring the camera along. For those I have a couple smaller Ikelite housings that I rotated between and they took a constant beating without any issues. I even broke a strobe clean off one and had it float ashore three weeks later and find its way back to me via a kind beachcomber. In 2016 I went on a one-year road trip that kept getting extended, so now I have been out of the water two years. I’m in the process of committing to being very busy for the next 5-10 years building a business around used Lego that I hope will turn into a community gem where young minds can come and hang out like a Maker Space and learn Science Technology Engineering and Math using Lego products. The sale of this camera setup will be providing additional capital dollars to this effort. So, if you are needing a little extra convincing of your spouse / budget committee, you can toss that one in there and see if it helps. Your mileage may vary. Attached are additional files to save you effort in your research: D7000-Ikelite-housing.pdf ikelite-nik_d7000.pdf ikelite-ports-dabigadoma.pdf

  17. Finished a trip in Green Island Taiwan and it was the first real trip with my new camera setup. I went from a Nikon D80 to a Nikon D850 in a nauticam housing. Pretty sweet jump. These were some of my favorite photos from the trip. I would really like to hear how the pictures could have been made better. I'm heading there again in three days, and would like to be better prepared. Looking forward to learning. As an example, I feel the image isn't as crisp as it could on the wide angles, and that maybe I could have done more to bring out the light in the back ground. Also, on the clownfish, I've seen some incredibly clear and vibrant pictures of these critters in the anemone, any suggestions for really capturing that? Settings: Wide Angle: F10, 1/160, 320 Macro: F18, 1/160, ISO400 Also, if you're considering a Taiwan trip, it is an amazing place.
  18. Looking to buy a used Nikon 16-35mm f4G ED VR lens. Anyone have a used one in good condition they are looking to sell? Thanks
  19. Nikon D7100 camera body with a Nauticam housing that will fit the D7100 and a D7200. Good condition but will probably need an annual service. Shutter button sticks a little but a tap forward usually does the trick. It can easily be replaced in the service. Been a great setup, not too complicated for a first time user and you wont outgrow too soon. $2500 for camera body, two batteries and housing. Buyer pays shipping. Please email me at michaellamanson@gmail.com if interested.

I have really looked after it and it has produced some cracking images for me. It comes complete with the original box and accessories. I'm looking for £2250/2500/$3000 which would include shipping in the EU - anywhere else negotiable. Photos attached. For more info, PM me. 23. Hi i have bought my first water housing and its a vintage one. Its a aquatic 4n for the nikon f4 and it has only got a flat port. However i want to use my 21 mm carl zeiss lens but then i guess i need a 8 inch dome (It that what is reccomended?) I have looked onlig but they are so expencive. And i don't want to buy the wrong one. Since its an old type is there some adapters or does the new aquatic domes work for the old camera housings as well, I hope i made myself clear and i hope there was not to many questions here. But its so hard to find answers when there is so little information about this online. Kind regards -Frederik Wik
