  2. Hi there I am after some supportive wisdom re. TTL With Aquatica AD800 Housing. I have always had a niggling concern about the TTL strobes (which usually disappears after the first post dive beer is consumed) . Whilst I am getting some pretty good pictures with my rig I don’t feel that the TTL function is woking for the strobes. My kit is: Nikon D800 Aquatica AD 800 housing (I have all 4 dip-switces set to the ON position) 2 * Ikelite DS161 Strobes Ikelite 4103.52 cable from housing to strobes (just the cable no additional convertor etc. - though I believe the housing has one in it) The dip switches in the housing are set to ON position. Strobes set to TTL I do nothing specific to the Nikon D800 (just assume it will work TTL mode with the DS161s) Are there any obvious things for me to check / do to get this working or convince myself that all is well? It may be something to do with camera flat sync settings but that is stretching my knowledge. Any help gratefully received. Thanks Alan

  5. Hey fellow Wetpixelers! I'm re-advertising my Subal ND800 housing which I'd like to sell. I also have a Nikon D800 to sell with it. Actually two camera bodies are available if you are keen! The housing is in perfect condition, well-used, much-loved and never dinged, chipped, flooded or abused as you can see from the attached images. Similarly the camera which has just under 9000 actuations and has always been used in the housing. I have more images available which I can send email if you contact me. The equipment is located in Netherlands but I can get it to the UK easily and expect to be in the US this summer. Price is £1950/USD2500/€2200 for the housing; and £700/USD900/€775 for the Nikon D800. I'd be happy to do a deal for housing and camera(s); and would also be happy to include with the housing a Vivid Sentinel Series 4 vacuum valve (not shown in images) and the manual pump etc. All boxes, manuals and original bits and pieces included for both housing and camera(s). The second D800 body has a slightly higher actuation count and would cost slightly less. Shipping costs dependent on location. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal (buyer pays charges). This housing has been brilliant and I have got some cracking images out of it especially using the D800's built-in flash to trigger strobes by fibre optic cables. With my Inon Z240s this gave me very good TTL. If you are serious about an FX housing, I can heartily recommend this Subal - the Rolls Royce of housings at a bargain price!

  13. I´m selling a complete Nauticam setup for Nikon D800. Due to family situation I have not been in the water for almost a year, and even if it hurts I can´t find good enough arguments to keep holding on to all this excellent gear. The uw photo passion is still there and I will return to the water, but it looks like I will spend most of my available time in the hockey rink with the minor hockey players for a period.... All the gear is in excellent condition. The seup is of the of the best I have used, but it has seen little use, except a macroport and the old Icon flashes , but they both work flawless. I will prefer to sell all the gear at the same time and I´m looking for less than half price if you buy everything The equipment is in Norway, and I will ship all over the world, but only with insured UPS. I prefer PayPal or moneys transfer for safety for seller and buyer. 15. Nikon D800 36MP Full Frame Digital SLR Camera - Black (Body only). Comes in original box with all original accessories, cables, etc. I am including a Lexar Professional 1000x CompactFlash card, 32Gb. This camera was barely used and is in near-mint cosmetic and perfect working condition. There are no scratches on the rear LCD, and it comes with all original accessories including the hotshoe cover and rear LCD cover. I did write my last name (two letters - short!) in Sharpie on top of the camera flash, and there is writing on the English quick start guide and user manual. Otherwise, this camera is immaculate, little used, with only 4298 shutter activations Asking $1999. I am happy to entertain reasonable offers. If you are interested, please contact Norb at photoagent101@gmail.com. Please no phone calls. I can accept Paypal (must charge an additional 3% to cover Paypal's commission but hopefully we can both use personal Paypal accounts, meaning no Paypal commission), money orders, and personal checks. Money orders and personal checks will have to clear my bank before the product is shipped; which can take up to three weeks. Shipping will be at buyer's expense (at actual cost) and will be UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, or USPS Priority Mail (all of which give tracking of packages). If we conclude a deal, I'll give you a quote for shipping and insurance via one of the above methods. Happy Shooting!
  16. Hey guys I'd welcome some expert advice please on Sandisk SDXC Ultra memory card capacity. I'm using a Nikon D800 (I have had it two years) and have a 16GB CF card for the main picture-taking memory storage and a Sandisk Ultra 64GB SDXC card for the back up. I have either chosen the wrong SDXC card or I am doing something wrong as the card seems to stop recording - or at least cannot be read - once it gets to about 32GB used. I don't think it's a fault in this specific card as I have two of them and they are both the same. And I have two D800 bodies too and have the same issue with both. I have tried reformatting the cards which has made no difference. Is there a limit to the amount of memory that a D800 can address on an Ultra SDXC card? Have I just picked the wrong memory card (doh)? Your views and solutions would be most welcome.

  18. I have been assembling a portfolio of recent images in black and white, although I seem to have been beaten to the punch by an article in Full Frame a couple of weeks ago... ... I was actually inspired by a speaker at the Wildscreen event in London last month, although I've been interested in using a "fine art" technique underwater for a long time. Black and white, 2012 - 2014.
  19. I'm selling my Aquatica D800 system because my RED has bumped it to the bench. In addition to the housing and ports, I'm also selling my D800 body and lenses. The D800 is the best DSLR I've ever had, and I really hate to part with it, but I use all Canon glass on the RED, so it doesn't make sense to keep the D800 for a backup since I would have to maintain a full extra set of lenses. I'll be better off with a backup 7D body that can use the same glass as the RED. I bought the Aquatica housing and the D800 in August of last year and used it daily until January. Since I started shooting with the RED in January, the D800 has been on the shelf. So it has had less than 6 months of use. There are no issues with the housing, never a hiccup. I like it even better than my previous Aquatica 5DII housing which gave me 2 years of daily service until I switched to the D800. The system has two ports, a standard macro flat port and an 8" Acrylic Dome with shade. The dome is 3 years old but has only been in the water a few times so it is still in perfect condition (I was living in Lembeh Strait, so shooting mostly macro). The housing has two Nikonos style sync ports. It also has an electronic vacuum monitoring system installed. It also has an Aquatica Aqua View Finder (straight version) which gives you a gorgeous huge image to compose with. Also included is an Aquatica 18457 extension ring. The storm case that I'm including to transport the system does not have custom cut foam for the housing, I'm just using pieces of foam to cushion everything. Here's the housing portion of the system: Aquatica D800 Housing Aquatica Flat Port Aquatica 8" Dome Port + Shade Aquatica Aqua View Viewfinder Vacuum System Storm case $4500.00 Plus your choice of shipping. The D800 system includes the body with a 32GB CF card, a Nikkor 24-120 f4 ED VR Zoom (topside general shooting lens) and a Sigma 15mm f-2.8 that hasn't even been in the housing yet (already sold my 60mm macro). The camera has less than 5600 shutter activations. Comes with the normal accessories: battery, charger, USB 3 cable, manuals, strap and body cap. Here's the camera portion of the system: Nikon D800 Body Nikkor 24-120 f-4 ED VR Zoom Sigma 15mm f-2.8 WA 32GB CF Memory card Factory accessories $3600 Plus your choice of shipping I will sell the housing system and the camera system separately, but I won't break out individual items from either package. If you want to buy the whole works, you can have it all for $8000 and I will pay ground shipping anywhere in the continental US. The system is currently with me in Bali, but I will be returning to the US June 14 and bringing it with me. If you want it in this part of the world, let me know before June 13. Wetpixel members get first shot at this system. When I get to the US everything that hasn't sold is going on eBay with a reserve above the prices offered here. Here are a few photos of the components: Housing Front Housing Back Custom installation of vacuum system. Uses the "flash down lever" to activate.
