I travelled out to the Maldives as a result of BSoUP's 2012 "Splash-in" competition, joining the MV Sea Spirit and its faithful dhoni to cruise the well-travelled but surprisingly interesting Thilas and channels of Ari Atoll. The boat looks small, until you realise that all the dive gear stays on the dhoni with the compressor and Nitrox. It's actually as comfortable as the much bigger and superficially more impressive boats that ply the Red Sea and Indonesian waters. There are still shoals of fish, sharks of all kinds (somewhat oppressed by crowds if they venture too close to the bigger resort islands), rays, turtles and pretty reefs, largely, I suspect, because of the intermittently fierce currents that squirt in and out of the atolls. For a routine trip, this was something of an eye-opener! More images: https://www.flickr.com/photos/timsdiving/sets/72157643891843663/

There is nothing like swimming with whales. The feeling you get when a whale looks you in the eye is surreal and humbling. I have traveled to Tonga ten times to swim with these gental giants, and hope to do it for another ten years. Dont get me wrong I am a die hard diver, and never thought I would look forward to snorkel trips but being in the presence of giants is the most fun I have had with a mask on....

Hi there, I'm just upgrading to an SLR (Nikon D7100) from my Olympus m4/3 camera, and was just wondering which lens I should start with. I can only afford one lens to start with, and my favourite shots are wide angle. I am thinking the Tokina 10-17 as many people have recommended it to me, although I was wondering whether it would be too wide as the only lens I would take. I only have one strobe (at the moment) so would the 10-17 be too wide and something like a Nikon 10-24 would be better? I'm going to Egypt at Easter, so I am unlikely to be taking photos of sharks or wrecks, and many people say that rectilinear lenses are not as sharp in the corners. If I get the Tokina, I would put it behind the 4.33" port. I am not looking for a macro lens at this time. Many Thanks!

I purchased this set up to shoot a surf shoot out west, which days before was canceled. This was a one-off type event for me, but I was excited about trying something new and I love to surf. I took the housing from the box simply to look it over, never even put the camera in it. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/996725-REG/aquatech_10201_delphin_d4_sport_housing.html yellow in color With it, I also purchase the 50mm lens port and a 70-200 lens port, again never used brand new in box Would like 2,000 for the whole lot including priority shipping with insurance. please email jcfemt@aol.com Happy shooting!

Up for sale is a Subal ND2 Housing for the Nikon D2x or D2h. Housing has the optional ULCS ball arms as pictured. I will also include a spare housing o-ring. Housing has just been serviced and everything is fully functional. There is some cosmetic wear as would be expected from use (some small nicks and scratches on the housing, some wear on the handles) but nothing that would impact the function or protection of the housing. New this housing was over $5000. Because it's for an older camera (though still a very capable one), I'm asking $900 USD + Shipping.

Underwater photographers who know their stuff (or have a great photography gear guru like I have) know that the old but good Sigma 14mm f3.5 lens is one of the sharpest wide-angle, rectilinear lenses around. I’ve been a professional underwater photographer for a long while, and my guru (Ryan Canon at Reef Photo) recommended this hard-to-find lens for wide-angle shooting with my Nikon D800 camera. Being my usual overzealous self, I bought this lens on Ebay a couple of months ago, but then found another len in even better condition. This lens takes great images and the autofocus works just fine, even with my new Nikon D800 camera. Note that this is an older lens than the newer Sigma 14mm f2.8 and is considered sharper, and better for underwater photography (and likely topside photography). There are two things to know before you buy this lens. There is a small scratch on the lens. I can't see that this scratch affects the images taken with the lens. You can't even see the scratch unless you view the lens at a certain angle. I took dozens of photos to show the scratch on the lens -- you can finally see it in the last image in this listing. The lens cap/cover is not the original lens cap/hood that comes with this lens. It's something I fashioned out of another lens hood and lens cap. I bought this lens and it did not come with a lens cap. It will be difficult to find another lens cap that fits this perfectly. The one I've fashioned will work OK but is by no means perfect. It is simply a cover that falls off, not like the original cap/hood that stays on. You can likely put some rubber or wetsuit material on the inside of this hood to make it stay on. I just kept the lens in the lens case or camera bag. Otherwise, the lens is in great shape and I am selling it for exactly what I bought it for ($255 plus 3% for Paypal purchases for a total of $263), which is a pretty good deal. Condition: GOOD Condition Comments: Lens contains moderate cosmetic wear and light internal dust. Lens also contains lightly scratched glass. Lens cap/hood is not the original and does not fit well. See notes below. Includes: Rear cap, case Fully Tested and Works Properly. Item pictured is the actual item for sale. If you are interested, please contact Norbert Wu at temp2_at_norbertwu.com. Please no phone calls. I am happy to entertain reasonable offers. I can accept credit cards, Paypal, money orders, and personal checks. Money orders and personal checks will have to clear my bank before the product is shipped; which can take up to three weeks. Shipping will be at buyer's expense (at actual cost) and will be UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, or USPS Priority Mail (all of which give tracking of packages). If we conclude a deal, I'll give you a quote for shipping via one of the above methods. I can ship internationally via Fedex International Priority or Economy. Thanks! Norbert Wu
