  3. I am selling a complete Nikon D7000 system, that includes everything you need to shoot professional quality images. This has only been my spare setup, hasn’t been used very much at all, for this reason all the items listed below are in excellent conditions, they have been looked after meticulously. The housing works like a dream, never flooded, never had an issue with it, it always performed great when I needed it, also has a sound/led light leak detector for extra piece of mind. All camera lenses and dome are in perfect conditions, no scratches in front elements. I would love to sell the setup as a whole. 5. Hi guys! I am totally new to this forum. I tried to find a thread treating my issue but haven't found one, so I decided to start a new topic. I have been using Oly MFT (since 2011 OM-D M5, since 2016 OM-D M1MII) for years and I was quite happy with it, especially with its packed-size and "travellability"! Nonetheless, I started to look around for another (better) solution and rented a Sony A7 IV for 1 week on a dive-trip in the mediterranean sea - the result KNOCKED ME OFF!!! I am sure all of you guys already using a FF mirrorless can only laugh of me :-) So, I took the decision to upgrade my gear to a fullframe, mirrorless cam and started searching different options. I am currently struggling between the 3 models: NIKON Z7 SONY A7R IV SONY A7R III I wonder if anyone of you could give me a clue why I should prefer the A7R III or Nikon to the A7 IV (except the additional price-step to take and the higher noise)...! :-) For those of you who'd like to read some pros and cons about the 3 candidates, just read on. For those of you who can give me a hint, feel free to scroll down and type your answer - THANKS!! I've read several forums and comparisons about advantages and disadvantages, some of which I'd like to share with you! Nikon Z7 I have had "hands-on" in a camera-shop. Good "look and feel"-feeling, but nothing really better than the SONY. + proven manufacturer + high-quality products + sensor quality + quick cardslots (XQD) + menu-structure a bit more well-thought than the Sony (not necessarily from my personal point of view, though) + quite a fair price - currently only a few lenses available (except F-mounts with adapter) - generally one or two steps behind in developing mirrorless cams - "only" 1 cardslot (although I cannot imagine this really being an issue in everyday use...) Sony A7R IV I was able to do a 1-week-live-testing with a rented equip. and I was absolutely convinced of this baby! :-) + successfully selling and developing mirrorless fullframes since 2013 + incredibly high pxl: 61MP + rocket-fast autofocus (provided using a GM-lens) + picture quality + highest resolution of viewfinder (5.6 MP vs 3.6 MP on the Z7 and A7R III) + very wide variety / choice of lenses (all possible lengths, types and price-segments) - due to the very high density of pxls on the sensor (50% more pxls on the same area 36x24mms), slightly more noise - ... and maybe some erratic colors (I haven't been able to confirm this issue => anyone an idea?) - the cardslots are not working very quickly, despite the fact that both slots are UHS-II SDXC - Sony is not very known (as far as I know) as a manufacturer in the PHOTO-segment (more in the movie industry) Sony A7R III I have not yet been able to see it live, but I was told that for my purposes, it would serve almost as well as the A7R IV with some compromises. However, its price is remarkably lower... Compared to the A7R IV: + remarkably less pricey + noise and color accuracy are told to be a bit better => can anyone confirm this?? - less resolution (42MP vs 61MP) - viewfinder less resolution (3.8 MP vs 5.6 MP) - slower autofocus Thanks for reading, folks!!
  6. I get there are probably not too many people shooting the 13, but I wanted to ask - does anyone have the rear filter piece that they could measure the pitch/size of the threads? I'm betting I could 3D print a small insert for attaching gels/filters, but I don't see much threads to measure. It might even be that this filter is standard across other lenses? Like the 16mm fisheye?? Does anyone know on that? (Pic from another post off here as I'm missing that filter)

  10. Hi Tim, Thanks so much for your reply. Wish you all good in your moving. Yes, I just decided to buy a Sigma 15mm which is more newer than Tokina 10-17. I'm with a D750 now and in the process of purchasing a Nauticam housing system from China. I just read an article online yesterday saying that Tokina 10-17 works very well on a full frame DSLR with a more like wide angle effect than fisheye on DX camera. I attached the link here https://www.uwphotographyguide.com/sigma-15mm-tokina-fisheye-review for you, may be you have some interest in it. By the way, on your experience, do you think it's better to change for a new D850 instead of using the current D750 which seems to be much more harder for sell when I want to upgrade my devices in the future. Thank you.

  17. There's been some discussion of late of various combinations of lenses with a Kenko 1.4TC: what works, what doesn't. I've got both the Kenko 1.4TC DG and DGX models, a Nikon D500, a Z6, the Tokina 10-17 and the Nikkor 8-15. I thought Wetpixelers might find it useful to see the results of the various combinations. What works is in bold. D500 (DX) D500 + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DG + Tokina 10-17: AF works; no vignetting at any focal length D500 + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DGX + Tokina 10-17: AF works; no vignetting at any focal length D500 + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DG + Nikkor 8-15: Err message. No AF; no vignetting at any focal length D500 + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DGX + Nikkor 8-15: AF works; no vignetting at any focal length Nikon Z6 (and, presumably Z7) with firmware 3.0 Z6 + FTZ + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DG + Nikkor 8-15: AF works; vignettes with hood attached after 11 Z6 + FTZ + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DGX + Nikkor 8-15: No AF; No aperture readout; vignettes with hood attached after 11 Z6 + FTZ + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DG + Tokina 10-17 : No AF; aperture read out; vignettes with hood attached after 11 Z6 + FTZ + Kenko Telepro Plus 300 DGX + Tokina 10-17 : No AF; No aperture read out; vignettes with hood attached after 11 Conclusion a. If you want to use the Kenko with a Tokina 10-17 on a D500 no problem with the DG or DGX model b. If you want to use the Kenko with a Nikkor 8-15 on a D500, you need the DGX model c. If you want to use the Kenko with a Nikkor 8-15 on a Z6/Z7 you need the DG model d. Forget trying to use either the Kenko DG or DGX with a Tokina 10-17 on the Z6/Z7 (well why would you anyway) I don't have the Kenko HD model so can't comment on that but perhaps if someone has, they could add the data for that. Hope this helps, guys Tim
  18. Hi all, I've had my Nikon D7000 Seacam rig since 2013 haven't reviewed for a new setup for a few years, I mostly dive in Scotland from the Club Rhib / shore diving. Upgraded from optical flash cables (Constantly having to replace) to S6 Connectors, Purchased the Seacam 45 degree viewfinder to help get the camera under the subject. (Water Clarity and Backscatter are key factors) Currently use the: Tokina 10-17 Fisheye with a Wide Port with anti-reflective coating (140mm Diameter) - 25mm Extension ring - if I open up to 10mm I can see the Sun shades in the final image. For Macro - 60mm Nikon F2.8 ED standard flat port. - super sharp and some times use for fish behind the Dome Port. 2 * Z240 MK4 Strobes - S6 connections & Greenforce Hepastar for lighting I have Sigma sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 HSM for Land and Nikon 20mm F2.8, Nikon F1.8 35mm DX (Just bought) - which have been used occasionally underwater. I'm interested in Wide angle shots of Wrecks, Walls, Geological Features and getting better pictures of skittish fish - Cod, Ling etc. at depth 25 -35 metres ( I have been diving on a AP Rebreather for the last two years) getting auto focus and lighting right is an issue. After upgrading from the Olympus C5050 to the D7000 have benefited from the increased dynamic range and also improved autofocus for Macro. At the moment looking at my photographs, the low light noise on the sensor vs the loss in quality of the images on the edges (Dome Port Optics) is about the right balance. Thinking about what tweaks I can make - obviously big jumps are the Nikon D500 or Nikon FX which require a large investment for 5% - 10% improvement in quality? Other lenses that I've seen talked about are the Nikon 8-15mm Fisheye, Sigma 17-70 Macro, Nikon 105 or 85mm DX Macro Lenses? Seacam do other Dome Ports - Fisheye Port 160mm, Compact Port 170mm or Superdome 240mm Would be good to get feedback from other Nikon and Nikon Seacam Photographers on what combinations has worked well for them. Thanks Paul
  19. For sale SeaCam Housing of Nikon D800. Also have Super Dome and flat view finder. No damage to housing. Some signs of wear. Housing $1000 or package with Super Dome and flat view finder $1500. Just add the camera and lens to start shooting. Strobe outlets are wired for SeaCam Strobes.
  20. I've shot the Olympus 4/3 OM-D series for years. I'm thinking about moving up to a full frame. I'm nearing the end of my diving and will keep the FF for use afterwards. So, what would be your choice and why? I'm leaning towards the the Sony A 7 iii or the A7r. However, as I learned from the forum, be open to what experienced users recommend!!

Only lack of functionality due to button is not being able to move to right while zooming in image playback or manually moving focus point to right, which are not essential. 24. HI! i am a semi professional photographer and after years of dreaming am finally ready to start shooting underwater. I currently have a d800, and it’s days as my primary camera are coming to an end, but it is still very functional. I am debating if it is worth it to buy a housing for it or just wait until I get a new camera ( I have no idea when that will be, could be another year still) does anyone still shoot with an 800 underwater? Is it a good underwater camera? I was looking at the Ikelite housing for it as the price is right, does anyone have experience with it? Would anyone happen to be selling a d800 housing?! thanks!!
