Does anyone use the Panasonic f/1,7 15mm lens with a Nauticam Housing on their GH5 rig? Does it work ok with the WWL-1 wide angle adaptor or would there be vignetting? Nauticams port charts don't support using the Panasonic f/1.7 15mm with any port but I recall someone saying it worked well. Would you use the Nauticam N85 Power Zoom Macro Port 29, and would you be able to put the WWL-1 on that port without any vignetting or other issues? -Roger Uzun

This dome has a scratch on the outside as noted in pics. It only shows up shooting into sun and can be easily eliminated with photoshop. I have moved into dedicated video and do not need this anymore. Also comes with neoprene cover. This dome is almost $1800.00 new but I'm selling for $525.00 plus shipping. Hello fellow photographers and divers! I have some doubts that are killing me internally and keep me from sleep 😂. I have thought of buying a Sony Alpha a7 mark 1, and keep it as my dive camera. Since its not too expensive, its compact, and it does a great job. I am also considering getting the A7 s, which will potentially improve the results and the price difference is not too much. It would be worth it. My reason to go for a Sony Alpha as my dive camera is because their underwater housing are extremely cheap (the Meikon ones) and ive read great reviews about those housings. Also because they are overall quite good and it would work great as a backup, light camera to use aside of my massive 6D + 70-200mm setup. I am planning to just go for the 28-70 kit lens, since its also cheap and it does deliver as expected. Price range is 170-250 euros as used... I am planning to get the camera and lens as second hand. My only issue with this setup is that the Meikon housing for the mark 1, does not have a dome port. And it is something I would quite love to have. The housing designed for the mark 2 however, does support a dome port. So in theory, In order to have a dome port, I would need to start looking at the mark 2 series... For the price of a Sony Alpha a7 II, I could get the A7S (mk 1) and the a7s would be a lot better for what I need... (4k, and low light monster). Now if I have to get the A7S II, then the price would already drastically increase and its out of my budget. So its not worth it just for the dome port. I would love to know your suggestions. If I my setup is not worth it, if there is a better option for me... If the dome port is at all THAT necessary... If you could point out any flaws in this setup im thinking of... things I would eventually regret, I would be FOREVER thankful!! Should I still go for this setup with the A7 and sacrifice the dome port, in order to save as much money as I can? Of course im not expecting professional level pictures, but also not GoPro level pictures.. I want something that looks somewhat decent. I was not planning to exceed a budget of 1000 euros... (A7 + LENS + Housing would be a total of ca. 800-1000 (tops) euros, if I decide for the A7S instead, it would be a total of ca. 1250)

FS: Aquatica extension 18463 (48463) 21.5mm .82" for Canon 8-15
lylefk posted a topic in Classifieds
Aloha, Have a used 18463 extension for sale. I'd rate it conservatively as an 8/10. This is the previous generation, with the only difference being the built in lock. This one has the lock they sold for them installed, works identically to the newer version. I know it fits the Canon 8-15 and Nikon AF 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR. It's 21.5mm/.82". $120 shipped via USPS Priority within the US, message me for international. Thanks! Lyle -

Selling my like new Ikelite Nikon d810 housing (product #6812.81). I bought it new from Bluewater Photo in December 2015. Only been in the water about 10 times. Works perfectly I'm just not using it enough to warrant keeping it. Includes the original box everything that came with it. $1300 I am also selling my 8” acrylic dome (5510.45) $300 and lens port (IK5510.28) $125 . Both in excellent condition. I added non-reflective black flocked paper to the inside of the 8" dome to reduce internal reflections (see picture below). This helped limit the number of shots I had with lens reflections showing up in my shots. If you want me to remove it before sending it I can, but I would certainly recommend keeping it. If you want the whole package (housing, dome and port) I’ll sell it for $1600. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Ian

Hello all, While I'm an experienced terrestrial nature photographer, I am a complete novice with underwater so I could use some advice and the reasoning behind it. Let me explain what I'm looking to do and the gear I have. First of all, I'm photographing to print and print large. I print on canvas and metal a lot of times 5' or larger. With my terrestrial work, detail and sharpness has been one of the hallmarks of my work so it is imperative that I keep that as much as possible underwater. I will be on a liveaboard trip mostly snorkeling for dolphins with a few dives added in the Bahamas in the next month and that is my primary concern right now. After that I have short-term plans for sea turtles, alligators, and freshwater animals. Eventually I'm sure I will move into macro, but for right now most of the work will be wide angle and with a good amount of over-under in the near future. Budget is an issue as I just bought a camera and housing for underwater, will need a port/lens, and at the same time I am opening a gallery with my artwork. On the other hand I need to capture images of the best quality to print large or else it doesn't do me any good to save money. So my approach is to start with minimal gear needed to solve some of the initial situations and the increase the possibilities with additional gear in the future when budget becomes available. I'm in the process of purchasing a used D800 with a Subal housing. Keeping in mind the snorkeling with the dolphins, I'm thinking of starting with just a wide angle. I'm considering both the Tokina 10-17mm and the Nikon 8-15mm. I know the Tokina will only work from about 15-17mm without vignetting, but on the other hand the Nikon is really only either a 15mm or an 8mm and while the circular fisheye images look cool viewed on a screen I'm not sure if they make an art print (please tell me otherwise for anyone who has printed these type of images large). Also I have a D500 that the 10-17mm could work well with if a second housing was in my future but realistically that's won't happen for several years. The image quality might be leaning me towards the Nikon even with 2x the price tag. Any recommendations between these two in my situation? Also, is this the right focal length I should be using with the dolphins or is another range better suited? Without fully explaining my situation, ReefPhoto recommended a Zen DP-170 port. The $1000 price tag is much nicer than the $1500 Subal DP-FE4, but 170mm is only 6.7" inches vs the 8" of the Subal port or the 9" of a Zen 230mm. From reading Alex Mustard's Underwater Photography Masterclass I was under the impression that for wide angle shots a larger port is preferred for edge to edge sharpness and also for over-under work. Last questions are regarding lighting. I was considering trying to photograph with just ambient light since the depths will be shallow and I was thinking a bright sandy bottom would also reflect up a good amount of fill. Secondly, no strobes would give less drag for moving with fast-moving dolphins. Also, I know nothing about underwater strobes except from reading Alex Mustard's book and initial price checks look like it would add $1500+. Is my image quality going to be lacking without strobes either in terms of color cast or unattractive shadows? If I really should go for a strobe setup, would a single strobe be ok or are 2 necessary in this case for best results? I know I will be getting strobes eventually but if it won't make much of a difference in this situation I'd be happy to delay the purchase until I know more of what I'm doing. Thank you and sorry for the long post, Robert
