  3. Hi all, I've gotten a wealth of information off this forum, which has led me to the following conundrum. I'd like to get a budget underwater camera with good IQ, wide angle out of the box (well, as wide as it gets!), possibility for wide angle lens addition and strobes in the future. It has narrowed it down to [Camera + Housing = Price]: Canon G15: G15 + Meike G15 £344 G15 + WP-DC48 £448 Canon G16: G16 + Meikon G16 £385 G16 + WP-DC52 £485 G16 + Fantasea FG16 £570 Sony RX100: Sony RX100-ii + Meikon £444 That pretty much puts G16 + Fantasea out of the picture, way above my budget. The IQ of Sony RX100-ii seems like it may be better than the G16? Essentially i'm throwing up Sony RX100-ii + Meikon vs G16 + WP-DC52. What do you guys think? Or do you have any other recommendations? Thanks in advance!
  4. This RX-100 Nauticam Housing has only been on 6 dives and is in perfect condition. Why am I selling it then?? Since I shoot mostly video, I've decided I want the video version instead...... As pictured, all the items that came with the original packaging are included (wrenches, o-ring lube, extra o-ring, owners manual, battery for moisture sensor) I paid $950 new from Backscatter less than a year ago. Hoping to sell for $750 and I will include shipping to anywhere. If interested, please respond to this posting.
  5. Hello. I have been using a Sony RX-100 with a Nauticam housing and a Sea & Sea 110a strobe, in TTL mode. Underwater, the exposure compensation of the camera's flash does not work. I bracket it from 0 to -1 and to -2 and nothing changes in the exposure of the subject lit by the flash. I do the same test "overwater", with the camera in the housing, and the flash's exposure compensator works! I use aperture (apples's software) to import my pictures and I noticed on the EXIF info, under flash exposition, I get "Return Light not detected" on underwater pictures, while on the "overwater" pictures I got "Return Light Detected". Is this the problem? any ideas? Despite of this issue, the TTL system provides a very smooth and nice light. Best regards Fabio
  6. Hi everyone, I bought a Sony RX-100 and Nauticam housing a few days ago, as a replacement for my Canon S95 in Ikelite housing. Here are some shots of a dive(freedive) in the estuary in Perth Western Australia today. I used a FIX UWL-04 fisheye lens, which had a tiny bit of vignetting, and 2x INON UCL-165M67 for the sea horse, which seemed to have soft corners but was ok in the center. Photos are Jpg's from the camera, with only minor 'levels' adjustments in Photoshop. I still have to sort out a Raw converter. I am very impressed with the crazy amount of detail, see the 100% crops. Flash recharge took noticeably longer than my S95. Cheers, Xander New setup: Nauticam and Sony RX-100 by Xander Rood, on Flickr RX-100 - 100% crop by Xander Rood, on Flickr
