  1. 2 used Inon Type 2 240Z Strobes. In good working condition, but they have been well used. Still working great. SN 284041 and 284483 I am the original owner. $300 for both. Free shipping in USA. I can send more photos, this application would only me upload a few.
  2. Does anyone have any experience using the CM Products Dome diffusers? From what little information I could find about them, they seem like a well made product. Before I drop $130.00 bucks ($65.00 per dome) before shipping, I wanted to get some "real world" feedback or opinions on using the domes. How is the coverage? How is the light quality? Do they stay on? Any information would be great. They make them for several different Sea & Sea and Inon strobes. I would be using them with two ys-d1's, so if you have used them with the ys-d1's I would love to get your opinion. thanks, http://cmdiffusers.bigcartel.com/product/cmdome-diffuser-for-sea-sea-ya-1d

  4. I am selling 4 Hartenberger strobes that are virtually unused other than some testing for a project that ended. These are some of the best strobes I have had a chance to work with and although they are pretty large they are incredibly robust, simple and reliable. I bought them for 1600 Euro each and am selling for 1250USD each. They include battery and charger and custom cases for each. PM me if interested. 5. Hey everyone! Like many, I was bitten by the dive bug and being an avid photographer, purchased an underwater camera housing system in 2014 thinking I would dive ten times a year and take a whole heap of awesome photos/video. Alas, real life has a way of bringing you back to reality and finances have dictated that the gear must go to free up funds, having been used on one dive in Canada. I currently live in Ireland but was home recently to take photos (photo files are too big so please contact me via email to see the photos!) of the gear and if there is interest, I will be back in Canada in july for a wedding and could arrange a paypal transaction and ship the gear then. I bought the gear for approx $7200.00 CAD + tax and am looking to sell it for $6500.00 CAD. It is all packed and ready to ship too! This is an unreal deal tbh as some of the gear has never been used and everything else has literally seen water once and not even salt water, for that matter. Unfortunately, given my current location, I cannot take further photos but would be happy to answer any questions you might have to the best of my ability. Thanks and hope I can find the gear a good home with someone who will put it to good use! Cheers, Adam

  7. My pair of new retra strobes arrived this week and I got out for a dive locally yesterday. I own 6 inon Z240s and have been using them since 2010 so this was a bit of a change for me. Some thoughts and observations: - Of the two diffusers received, one fits well and the other wobbles. It fell off in the car on the way to the dive site so I tied it to the strobe arm for the dive. - The retras are bigger than the inons - The only way to put the battery cap down while inserting batteries is on the contacts or on the o-ring, risking picking up dust - There is no serial number on the strobes. Luckily my insurance company is prepared to add them to my policy anyway - The recycle time occasionally becomes really long. Camera times show dark photos after a 25 second pause in one case, and after 3-5 seconds in other cases. This is on 75% and 100% power and I wonder if it is the overheating protection kicking in. Water temperature yesterday was 15 degrees. - The pilot light is very diffuse, and I image could be difficult to see with in bad vis. It's nice to have two power levels and the button doesn't get knocked on/off like the inon aiming light and pre-flash buttons All that said, I was very happy with the power, coverage and light quality of the strobes. The vis was good and I don't think my strobe positioning was optimal, so hard to judge backscatter potential. The colour temperature and brightness of the images was excellent. After 170 shots, the strobes were still showing three green lights out of four on the face plate. Here are a few comparative shots all on my Canon 5D4, 14mm lens and 8" dome, uncropped. 2 x Inon Z240s, full power, one warm diffuser, one standard diffuser, f8, 1/40, iso400 Kelp with the retras, full and 75% power, f13, 1/50, iso800 Taken after a 4 second interval, would have been nice with strobes: Fish on the run, f10, 1/50, iso400 Eyes in the roof, f10, 1/200, iso400 Overall I'm happy with them and looking forward to taking them in the caves. I'll be interested to see how they perform off camera and in warm water.

  10. Hi All, I am looking for some help and recommendations as I had a bit of a bad experience in the past. For some reasons I managed to get myself into upgrading from a TG4 to a 7DMarkII for my underwater photography. As you can imagine, if you have not previous experience with a SLR this is most likely not going to work. It took me over half a year to accept my mistake and I want to sell my whole set up now as I just cannot handle it. What way would be the best for selling it? I bought my whole set up at a retailer in Germany but I am in Malaysia currently. Any good websites or resellers you can recommend? Thanks so much in advance for your help! Best regards from KL, Conny

  15. Fiber optic port NOT included I am selling two Ikelite Remote Optical Slave Converters (from 2014). They are used but fully working, there is no fiber optic port that normally screws on the front included. I have more than I need so am selling. Connector protection included. Can sell singularly or as bulk - £50.00 each ONO. Information from Ikelite: "Trigger your Ikelite DS-series strobe off any camera or strobe flash. The Optical Slave Converter simply attaches to the strobe's electrical bulkhead in place of a sync cord connector. The enlarged slave window provides approximately 90 degrees field of view for remote triggering. Recommended if wireless slave triggering is your primary application. The Optical Slave Converter can be extended using the optional 3-foot Extension Cord for creative backlighting in wrecks, caves, and pool studio set-ups. It can also be used above water for studio photography work. The Optical Slave Converter supports manual exposure modes as set on the attached DS strobe. TTL exposure mode is not supported. An individual Optical Slave Converter is needed for each strobe. Use of multiple strobes requires one Optical Slave Converter per strobe. The Optical Slave Converter supports DS50, DS51, DS125, DS160 and DS161 strobes."

  20. Hey all! I am looking to outfit my 5D Mark3 MkIII to shoot underwater. I need something for up to 200' Open to different brands. Particularly interested in a dome port that can support my 17-40. Looking forward to seeing what is available. Thanks! -Paul

  22. Hi, I am considering adding to the arsenal one or two powerful strobes, mainly to lit far in the background. I would prefer warmer color. I have been suggested to look into Substronics 270 or Hartenberger 250/625. Does anyone have any experience with these type of strobes, their respective customer services. If any one has any magazine review would also help, even if in German i can find a way to translate. Given the size of the investment any one that can share its experience and/or data to help decision between brands would be very helpful. Thank you.
  23. Hi, This is my first post and as such I am sure many things here have been said here before. Please forgive and excuse me if I am being repetitive. I have started diving after 15 years, did a Maldives trip and I was hooked again. I am very comfortable underwater, been around water all my life, never felt unsafe under. I got my advanced underwater and enriched while in Maldives and did about 10 dives. I probably had 100 dives when I was diving 15 years ago. I used a gopro camera during these dives with the filters and dive housing and a constant light source, and while the video was good the pictures were terrible. I am a pretty good photographer, have a nikon 7200 with lots of wide angle, fisheye and macro lenses, as well as a d750 and sony a 7 ii. Now I want to get the kinds of shots I can get above the water underwater, but I feel crazy spending the amounts of money I need to spend with this much experience. I am committed, and I have the means, but is it just crazy for a guy with almost 0 underwater photography experience to start of with ikelite d7200 housing, 2 ds160 strobes and all the extras. I felt good with strong currents on my dives, but doing challenging dives with so much equipment seems a bit crazy. Is this as hard as it looks? Is it crazy to spend all this money so early? I am reading and learned everything in theory but practice is not the same and I am wondering if I should wait around. I just know a point and shoot underwater kit will not satisfy me artistically. All comments from anyone who went through the same process is welcome. Thanks.
  24. Mulitple Ikelite items - used less than 20 times - haven't used x 2 years. Shipping is in parenthesis, Continental USA only 1. Ikelite housing: Canon EOS 5D Mark III, 5DS, 5DS R DSLR Underwater TTL Housing by Ikelite 6871.03: $1100.00 (shipping $45) Item barely used, literally just 20 dives (if that). I just don't use it (and need the money . This has TTL, worked great. It can fit a canon 5d mark iii, 5ds and a 5dsr. Please note, this is the version of the housing built specifically for the 5d mark iii (6871.03, not the 6871.04 - not sure if that makes a difference, although it might when using 5ds or 5dsr with ttl? it was built before those models came out.) There are no scratches, and comes with everything you see. 2. DS160 Strobe x 2, 3 batteries (li-ion), dual splitter cable, one arm: $1100.00 (shipping $65.00) These strobes have not been used much at all, less than 20 dives. They are in excellent condition, comes with everything in the photos: 2 x Ikelite ds 160 strobes - diffusers and ball mount (cost new $799 each with 1 battery) - please note, there are 2 diffusers, one for each strobe, although in the main picture I forgot to put the 2nd in - it is in the individual images 3 x Ikelite batteries for ds 160 strobes, li-ion type - comes with 2 chargers (2 batteries came with strobes, I paid $250 for addition battery). Arm and clamp system as shown in pictures (1 currently, you will need a second). Sync cables: 1 x single and 1 x dual/split (joins the two strobes to one port on the housing). (splitter cable $160.00) 3. Modular 8 inch Dome for DLM and FL Systems, Product Number 5510.45: $200.00 (shipping $35) This item is in good condition. It was used less than 20 times. I just don't use it anymore. There are about 3 or 4 very minor scratches that have never affected the images taken due to diffraction of light in water - this is an acrylic dome, and therefore can be buffed out if you want. 4.
