Hi, This is my first post and as such I am sure many things here have been said here before. Please forgive and excuse me if I am being repetitive. I have started diving after 15 years, did a Maldives trip and I was hooked again. I am very comfortable underwater, been around water all my life, never felt unsafe under. I got my advanced underwater and enriched while in Maldives and did about 10 dives. I probably had 100 dives when I was diving 15 years ago. I used a gopro camera during these dives with the filters and dive housing and a constant light source, and while the video was good the pictures were terrible. I am a pretty good photographer, have a nikon 7200 with lots of wide angle, fisheye and macro lenses, as well as a d750 and sony a 7 ii. Now I want to get the kinds of shots I can get above the water underwater, but I feel crazy spending the amounts of money I need to spend with this much experience. I am committed, and I have the means, but is it just crazy for a guy with almost 0 underwater photography experience to start of with ikelite d7200 housing, 2 ds160 strobes and all the extras. I felt good with strong currents on my dives, but doing challenging dives with so much equipment seems a bit crazy. Is this as hard as it looks? Is it crazy to spend all this money so early? I am reading and learned everything in theory but practice is not the same and I am wondering if I should wait around. I just know a point and shoot underwater kit will not satisfy me artistically. All comments from anyone who went through the same process is welcome. Thanks.

Mulitple Ikelite items - used less than 20 times - haven't used x 2 years. Shipping is in parenthesis, Continental USA only 1. Ikelite housing: Canon EOS 5D Mark III, 5DS, 5DS R DSLR Underwater TTL Housing by Ikelite 6871.03: $1100.00 (shipping $45) Item barely used, literally just 20 dives (if that). I just don't use it (and need the money . This has TTL, worked great. It can fit a canon 5d mark iii, 5ds and a 5dsr. Please note, this is the version of the housing built specifically for the 5d mark iii (6871.03, not the 6871.04 - not sure if that makes a difference, although it might when using 5ds or 5dsr with ttl? it was built before those models came out.) There are no scratches, and comes with everything you see. 2. DS160 Strobe x 2, 3 batteries (li-ion), dual splitter cable, one arm: $1100.00 (shipping $65.00) These strobes have not been used much at all, less than 20 dives. They are in excellent condition, comes with everything in the photos: 2 x Ikelite ds 160 strobes - diffusers and ball mount (cost new $799 each with 1 battery) - please note, there are 2 diffusers, one for each strobe, although in the main picture I forgot to put the 2nd in - it is in the individual images 3 x Ikelite batteries for ds 160 strobes, li-ion type - comes with 2 chargers (2 batteries came with strobes, I paid $250 for addition battery). Arm and clamp system as shown in pictures (1 currently, you will need a second). Sync cables: 1 x single and 1 x dual/split (joins the two strobes to one port on the housing). (splitter cable $160.00) 3. Modular 8 inch Dome for DLM and FL Systems, Product Number 5510.45: $200.00 (shipping $35) This item is in good condition. It was used less than 20 times. I just don't use it anymore. There are about 3 or 4 very minor scratches that have never affected the images taken due to diffraction of light in water - this is an acrylic dome, and therefore can be buffed out if you want. 4. Modular Flat Front for FL Systems (2 available) Product Number 5510.35: $100.00 (shipping $20) 5. FL Extension for Lenses Up To 4.25 Inches: Product Number 5510.24: $80.00 (shipping $15) 6. FL Extension for Lenses Up To 5.1 Inches: Product Number 5510.28: $110.00 (shipping $15) I have pictures of all these items, I would be happy to email them to you (they are apparently too large to upload here. These items are listed on Ebay as well, so they may go that way as well...

I'll be spending my winter working on the Palmyra Atoll in the South Pacific and am picking out the gear I need. I shoot with a Nikon D750. 1) Housing: I don't have an unlimited budget so I'll likely be getting the Ikelite housing for the D750. 2) Lens Port: I'll be shooting primarily with the Nikon 20mm f/1.8, maybe also with the 35-80mm. Should I get the 6" or 8" dome? Anybody have experience comparing these? 3) Strobes: I'll be snorkeling, so I'm thinking I'm not going to get strobes. I may get an Ikelite Gamma II dive light with attachment for the housing. Comments? Questions? Suggestions? Thanks for any advice you can give.

I have 2 Ikelite DS125 Substrobes with 2 additional batteries, 3 sync cords (1 brand new) and 3 smart chargers that I am selling. Well taken care of, and soaked in fresh water after each dive. I had them for 1.5 years, and never had it misfire. I offer additional battaries, chargers, and a brand new additional sync cord. Everything works perfectly as of February 2016. Prices are as following: The whole bundle is $1250.00 + shipping depending on the location Strobe with 1 battery included: $385.00 each (total of 2) Additional Battery (so you never run out of power mid-day): $100.00 each (total of 2) Sync Cords (2 used, 1 new, all work): $55 each (total of 3) Smart chargers: $40.00 each (total of 3) I am currently trying to sell it as a set, as everything has been optimized for fastest and most efficient set up. May decide to split the offer if no one is interested. PayPal (US only foreign extra) are included in cost. Shipping is extra. These strobes have only been used maybe 15 times underwater on 7 trips and in excellent working condition. No arms are included but I have several if you need them. They do have ball mounts. Note: please advise these come with single cable only. Diffusers are included with each strobe.

I have 2 Sea and Sea YS-D2 strobes that were purchased brand new in the fall of 2015. They were used once on a dive trip over Christmas, and one strobe failed so was sent back to Sea and Sea and replaced under warranty in Feb. 2016. The new strobe was used a couple of weeks ago on a local dive and performed perfectly. Neither strobe has flooded and has been maintained well. Obviously both are still under manufacturer's warranty. Comes with original boxes, paperwork, o-rings, grease, diffusers, ball mount/YS mounts. The reason I'm selling these LIKE NEW strobes is that I've decided to go back to the Inon Z240's. Just personal preference, I guess, since I got amazing results with the YS-D2's. Brand new these strobes go for $650/each PLUS TAX. My loss is your GAIN! Will sell both for $1100 and buyer pays shipping. I only accept PayPal... **** FOR SOME REASON, WETPIXEL WILL NOT LET ME UPLOAD PICS FROM MY IPHONE OF THESE STROBES (SAYS THEY'RE TOO BIG??). IF INTERESTED, I'LL GLADLY SEND YOU PICS VIA EMAIL.. ****

I'm moving from my D300 to a D810. I have been using two Ikelite DS161M strobes. I would like to get some of your opinions on possibly switching to video lights (BigBlue 15000) capable of producing 1500 lumens up to 15000 lumens. I would like to shoot some video and my thought process was that using really good video lights would provide the necessary lighting to accomplish both. (I might be wrong) Please let me know your thoughts about this.

Hi there folks and friends, selling two Sea&Sea YS-D1 strobes, used about 10 times in the water, never flooded, and kept UBER clean by their anally-retentive owner. Selling because I want something with less power for my shooting style, (which is a strange problem to have, I know.) Comes with all literature, 120 + 100 filters, new orings + grease, ball attachments, & flat mount. Also selling two Sea&Sea Nikonos style sync cords for YS strobes, also kept immaculate, used same number of times. Asking $1,100 for everything, will pay for shipping from Florida, (no international though, sorry). Buyer pays Paypal fees. Any questions, please PM, and thanks!

The YS-120 strobe provides an audible and visual TTL confirmation, and a heavy duty bumper on the front to prevent damage to the strobe head.
