  12. FOR SALE is one nice high end HD camera in a professionally modified housing (Originally started out life as a Phenom Housing). The whole unit has had relatively low hours of use and has been well maintained. Delivers beautiful pictures on the famed EOS Cinema line. The big bonus here is that this camera "speaks" to the native Canon L Series line of lenses. I have mainly used it with the Canon 14mm prime and 50mm macro prime. In addition any EF lenses lenses will work including the ultra wide (weitwinkel) Tokina 11-16mm which I use. I would also include a support rig largely consisting of Zacuto mounts, a tough arm for EVF mounting, 2 x 64 GB CF cards, 2 x 32 GB CF cards, 4 x batteries and a free pelican case and travel bag. The camera and housing are currently in New Zealand but can be shipped anywhere. $15,000 USD. Email: mrjones.media@gmail.com
  13. For sale is a very good condition Sony NEX-7, black kit lens (with caps and hood!), battery, charger, and a good condition Meikon NEX-7 dive housing. The original (quite premium!) box for the NEX-7 and its kit lens is included. All accessories are OEM and not third party (excluding the housing of course). All functions work great with the housing, except the dial that rotates the rear scroll wheel slips. I will try to get it to work better before it ships out, but it may just be a design "feature". To be clear, both of the top two dials work flawlessly. Pics coming soon! Price: $399 shipped! Buyer to pay 3% paypal fee or use gift if they are comfortable with that.
  14. At long last, the images from my final trip, Raja Ampat aboard Indo Siren.
  15. Hello all, I wanted to share a short film I have put together. Those that know me and my filming style, know that I don't personally like to narrate, nor have divers in my shots....well with this film this was all unavoidable. Ever since I have been diving, I have wanted to have an up close and personal interaction with Manta Rays. I have been all of the world waiting for this magical opportunity. Thousands of miles traveled and dollars spent, I went to some of the best places in the world to pursue this dream of mine. Whether it be weather, bad luck, or illness, something always seemed to get in the way. It was very frustrating. This film is about how the manta curse eventually got broken. I figured this is my story, and I needed to tell it. So outsourcing the narration didn't make sense. Hence the poor narration...:-). Anyhow, Please let me know things you like and don't like about it. Always willing to try to improve and get pointers from others. I hope you enjoy it! Dustin Or Youtube
  16. Hi all! I'm a documentary filmmaker who just wrapped up 6-months of shooting a documentary series on the invasive lionfish in the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. As a filmmaker, I bought a nauticam housing for my Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera to be able to shoot in beautiful RAW with a flat picture profile. It takes some coloring once you're done, but the results are pretty great. I'm moving back away from the sea, so I won't have time to pursue my new underwater video passion for a few years. But this is an awesome setup (and small, light, and generally easy) for someone who is looking to really get into underwater filmmaking. DOME fits Panasonic 7-14mm lens and a few other lenses, I believe. Everything is in great condition. I rinsed each piece of equipment thoroughly after each dive and lubed up the O-Rings before almost every dive. The housing has never been flooded and comes with the electronic vacuum check. NOTE: You will need to replace the battery for the vacuum seal to work. They're cheap. A couple of small notes: - The nauticam doesn't line up perfectly with the record button, so you'll need to put a tiny bit of padding on the grip of the Black Magic (I use a bit of microfiber cloth folded twice) to line up the record button with the actual depressor. It works fine once you spend a few minutes getting it right. - The dome has a small buff on it. Not sure when or how it got smudged, but it doesn't show up in any of the underwater footage. If you're above water and pointing it against a blue sky, you can see it at the lenses widest angle (7mm), but zoom in at all and you can't see it anymore. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

  24. The last two weeks have seen me aboard World-wide Dive and Sail's Indo-Siren, with Alex Mustard's latest workshop and Alex Tattersall's latest demonstration of Nauticam widgetry... Flying into Sorong, the scenery grows more and more dramatic as the amenities of civilisation become a little frayed at the edges. How a boat like the Indo-Siren maintains such a high quality is something of a mystery, and one made harder by the pervasive humid heat and bureaucracy that has to be propitiated in order to leave port. An even greater mystery: having eventually encountered the elusive manta ray and the reclusive whale shark (at least they were elusive and reclusive on my dives), would I wonder at the wary wobbegong? Wobbegongs would have to wait: Daram, south and east of Misool, was our first destination and "Andiamo" our first dive and a taste of the dramatic colours, corals, fish and topography that makes Raja Ampat so special. Sunshine, calm seas and surprisingly gentle currents held us entranced around Misool for several days. "Andiamo" rewarded us with shoals of fish, dancing around shoals of other fish, and wasn't by any means the only site blessed by abundance. The chaotic profusion of life in this sea is a reminder of what so much of the ocean was like, once upon a time. Eventually we moved north, into wetter weather and seas a little rougher, and into the haunt of the wobbegong, the tropical forest, the mangrove and the Passage, where all three are tangled together and Alfred Russel Wallace, a singularly unfortunate natural historian, was once shipwrecked. The weather detracted something from Aerborek jetty, the site of so many prize-winning photographs and one of the noisiest dive sites (thanks to a chorus of toadfish) I've visited. Nonetheless, there were fish, more fish, very small fish (Hippocampus pontohi is not best seen by ageing eyes)... ... and wobbegongs. I would like to say that everything was marvellous and, as far as Alex's workshop and Indo-Siren were concerned, so it was. Mark and Dince, the other guides, the chef, the other crew were without equal and no praise is too much. Indonesian air travel, however... ... was not so great: booked onto a flight without seats, half of our party left early to arrive late, flew east to travel west and made three hops for the price of one. I can't say if the problem was with British travel agency Blue-O-Two or with the vagaries of several competing but apparently interchangeable Indonesia airlines, but I can say that it added a lot to the frustrations inherent in returning from what is still, in many ways, a wild place.
