Hi All, I recently got back from a dive trip to Clipperton Island. One of the interesting things about this remote atoll is that Moray eels cover the reef and many are out free swimming during the day. They are completely unafraid and swim right up to divers. This Amphibico Phenom electronic housing is designed for the Sony Z1U & FX1 HDV camcorders. It has a plexiglass dome port that is in good shape. The HID lights are adjustable between 35 & 50 watts and the battery pack comes with two functional lithium Ion batteries. I don't know if Amphibico is still supporting this kit anymore with o-rings and screws, etc. The removeable diffuser on one of the lights is cracked, but it doesn't effect the light. The housing has some paint chipping on the belly and on the sides. I used this kit for a couple of wildlife documentaries, but it has been a couple of years since it has been in the water. Both the housing and the lights come with Pelican cases. I am asking $950 for the whole kit or best offer. Shipping costs are separate. I have a complete professional underwater video camera setup to sell - including camera, housing, ports and accessories. The camera is presently in South Africa, but will be bringing it back to the US (Connecticut area) on 12th of April if anyone is interested in having a first hand look. Canon XF100 video camera - little brother to the XF300, BBC approved for broadcast video work. The XF100 uses same codec etc, and records full HD at 50mb/s at 4:2:2 color depth - technically still broadcast spec. Dear Friends, I like to hear your opinion about what is currently the best choice for a mid-level professional U/W video camera & housing set-up. i.e. i'm NOT looking for a Red Epic, but something in the range of the former Sony PD170, V1 or EX3. After my dissapointing experiences with the Sony NX5 I'm looking for a new kit. I suspect this will get a lot of different opions... but I like to hear what your experiences are. Regards, Evert

This is a video from Layang Layang. I worked there for 9 months in 2001-2002 (a while ago admittedly) and I reckon it's the most reliable hammerhead dive in SE Asia. Not guaranteed of course but if you take a five day trip you'd be very unlucky not to see a few. Best time to go is March or April. Enjoy....

I have started researching camera housings for underwater video for my Canon 5D M2. Pricewise there seem to be two tiers. First tier Sea Cam (over my budget) Aquatica(seems like good value/build quality) Sea and Sea Nauticam Subal Second Tier Ikelite Equinox Aquatech and Nimar Are there any recommendations for any of these brands? I am looking to purchase the housing used.

Hello Everyone, I thought I would post this. I haven't decided if this is cool.....or will it make people seasick!!! Was in the Galapagos, and we were anchored in some good current. It was night time, and a bunch of Galapagos and silky sharks were hovering just in back of the liveaboard. Since night diving wasn't allowed, I had to improvise, so the captain got me some rope and I tied it to the housing, said a few prayers, and dumped it over the back. The reaction from the sharks was interesting. Instead of just hovering in back, they were very interested in the lights. They soon started approaching, and hitting the lights. It was pretty exciting.
