Hello All, When using our DSLR to capture video, are you typically using 1080p 30,50 or 60fps? Do you change it when shooting macro vs. WA? If so why? I know if you want to slow something down in Post production you should shoot at a higher FPS rate but is that the only reason? I am not shooting in 4K and don't plan to be anytime soon. I plan only to share things via the Web or output to a standard TV occasionally. Also are you manually white balancing every 10-12 feet or so or leaving it in auto? I'm shooting with a D7200, Kraken Video lights in a Nauticam housing. Just finding my footing with this setup and looking for what others are doing to help reduce the learning curve. Thanks, Hank

Hi everyone, I’m currently looking for two Keldan 4x or Keldan 8x lights. I would prefer a seller within Europe (due to customs duty) since I’m located in Austria. So, if you have a pair to sell, please let me know! Cheers Paul

I've always been a stills shooter underwater, but when I won a video light in a photo competition recently I thought what the heck, I'd make an attempt at shooting some video for a change. First thing I notice when I get the footage on my computer screen is that I seem to have some stuck pixels, particularly a decent-sized red spot near the middle of the frame. I guess these have always been mapped out with my images in Lightroom, so I never really knew they were there. Help! What can I do? It's awful, and completely ruins the video. I am shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II. It's a camera I've had for years (well out of warranty). Thank you Wetpixelites!

Hey everyone, I'm going on a week long live aboard trip in a week. I have a camera/housing, but no lights yet. Is there anywhere I can rent video lights (higher lumen, as I am shooting primarily wide angle)? They would need to be shipped because I live in Jacksonville or if I can pick up near the Orlando airport, that would work as well. Thanks in advance!

Keldan Video Lights in Excellent Condition They just over 2 years old and now have less than 20 dives on them. I recently used them on 6 dives in Indonesia for a Manta Video (last week) and now will no longer need them as they will not get used until late next year. So rather than storing them I am posting them here. The original batteries are still in excellent condition and hold a full charge so you still get the 55min- 2.5hr burn time. These are the modular version so you are able to update the video heads as Keldan releases new technology. Cost $4200 + new Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You can check the specs with Backscatter where they were originally purchased. Package comes with: Asking $2095 USD for - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Lights - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Batteries (Original Batteries) - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Ball Clamps - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Chargers ---- If you are interested in two spare batteries (bought one month ago and have been charged once) for a total of 4 batteries Package above (+) $700 USD = $2795 - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Batteries (used once - basically brand new - Paid $880 a month ago) ----- I have sold other items on Wetpixel here like an aquatic 5DMKIII housing and Flouro Diving Kit I will accept Paypal Only. ----

Recently purchased these off this forum and unfortunately they were misrepresented as I believed them to be the newest CRI model. If I shot mostly warm water the Flux would be just fine and would do an excellent job filling out the shadows. They 2.5 years old and now have 6 dives on them. I did a check on the batteries and they are still in excellent condition and the lights are in excellent condition too. I paid $2400 USD + $100 shipping for the lights two weeks ago and would be looking to get $2175 for these lights as I would prefer the CRI model for cold water. You can generally pick up a pair of these new or used for around $1350 - $1600 each. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I have validated all the specs with Backscatter where they were originally purchased. Looking for a quicker sale as I am heading on an extended trip on Alaska coast at the end of month and would like to get CRI versions for that trip. I will accept Paypal Only. Package comes with: - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Lights - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Batteries - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Ball Clamps - 2X Keldan Luna 8 Chargers I took them for a test dive and you can find the cold water footage here. The wide angle shots are these lights with auto white balance so they do render a very beautiful even beam and colour. The close up of the shrimp is focus light only and a test shot only. -

Hey Guys! I'm into underwater video (currently own a panasonic GX7), and im looking to buy a new lens but not quite sure what to get. Everyone seems to recommend either the olympus/panasonic 7-14mm lenses, or the olympus 9-18mm lens. Could anyone share some advice as to the difference in underwater videos (even stills) between the 7-14mm and 9-18mm lenses? Thanks in advance!

They only have 60 degrees of coverage, but I am wondering if anyone has purchased a set and used with a gopro or some other camera underwater. It appears they sell gel diffusers as well, so I'm look at them strictly for compactness / convenience / price http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1192935&gclid=CL6Ek8767s0CFUpZhgodMj8Jxg&Q=&ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876%2C92051677682%2C&is=REG&A=details Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated!

New to the boards AND to diving. As a professional freelance cinematographer and burgeoning diving enthusiast, I am asking the obvious question: should I expand my freelance services into underwater video? Anyone have any professional experience, advice, or info on this? I am wondering how crowded the field is for a freelancer, and how many jobs may actually be available? And, what sort of jobs they usually are (rec diving VS tech diving, etc.) It sounds like the GoPro has largely hurt this industry, but I am wondering if there is still much (or any) work left in it? I would not be relying on it as a career, rather an expansion of my own already existing services. Even $15k a year worth of gigs could be enough to justify involvement... but I am wondering if even that is feasible? This isn't an immediate thing for me - I know I am going to need a great deal more dive experience first until I would look into this. But when that time comes, I am wondering the process to get plugged into the industry and what I might expect, any steps I can take in the meantime to prepare (if it is even worthwhile)? Thank you!

Hi Folks, I am off to (hopefully) video giant mantas and I need some advice. I want my Canon 7D Mark 2 to follow focus as a manta swims closer. Previous attempts were not highly successful - I know there are several different focus modes in the submenus and wonder if any of you have any recommendations. Thanks.

Light and Motion Stingray Plus Camera and housing, plus 2 that's right, 2 Sony HDR XR-200 cameras, Light and Motion all aluminum housing, arms and lights, to include 4 fish eye lights (2 1000lm and 2 500lm) 3 additional replacement handles, 4 o-ring kits, 2 sets of handle batteries, 2 chargers with extended battery, battery is good for 4 dives, carrying suitcase with dividers, optional go pro or utility top mount (quick connect) and all manuals. Used less than 100 dives. Asking $800 for all included obo, plus shipping. I live in a VA if interested in pick up. I accept all major credit cards as well. I'm looking at upgrading but otherwise an awesome camera set up. All you see here is included, suitcase is a great way to customize, it's light and secure. I can send sample video upon request and can be reached at dbuky1@gmail.com if you prefer. Great for the diver that wants to get into videography with all manual control capabilities. $3500 plus invested in to this whole set up, but I need to get rid as I want to upgrade to a much much larger system. HDR storage is 250 gig! I spent 3 weeks in Micronesia and didn't even fill the driver. Sony compresses the files well and allows for mass storage. There is also the option to add a memory card for additional storage. Great housing with only one port to seal. It is double sealed O rings and leaves the worry of flooding on the surface. All aluminum housing and infared controls make for ease of operation. Built in flip down red filter and you're in business. Please let me know if you have any questions, all serious offers will be considered. Thanks

HMC40 with Equinox HD8 Underwater Housing $1,500.00 In Wilmington NC. UPS Ground shipping estimate in the United States: $50-$75. Contact: Matthew McCoy, 910-620-1011 or PM me I'm selling because I've moved from the Bahamas and won't have much, if any, use for the setup anymore. Please contact me with any questions. I can also do a Skype call if you'd like to see the equipment and get a video walkthrough. Includes: Panasonic HMC40 high definition profession camcorder Manufacturer details here: http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/ag-hmc40pj.asp Lens in pristine condition All buttons, dials, lens controls, displays, and recording options work Very solid and reliable camera! Body has some minor cosmetic scratches on bottom from tripod plate 205 hours Lens hood included, but the cover is missing Equinox HD8 housing designed for HMC40 Controls: focus, exposure, white balance, zoom Power on/off and record stop/start on separate arms** Dome port and flat port (for macro and zooming) Rated to 200 feet Includes a set of unused gaskets Marshall V-LCD50: 5” high resolution HDMI monitor-fits on back of housing Has custom mount on rear port, but I use electrical tape to fully secure it There is glue residue along the backside of the monitor from using electrical tape to prevent it from moving back and forth. Battery Charger and camera wall charger 1 IDX high capacity battery (SSL-VBG50) 1 Panasonic regular battery Kingston class 4 32 gig SD card (handles all in-camera recording formats) Lens Filter: Circulare polarizer, .9 ND and 1.8 ND Red filter for housing AV out cable for surface monitors Wide angle and macro adapter Removable audio adapter: AG-MYA30G 2-channel XLR and Panasonic MIC150 shotgun mic ** Originally the housing came with one arm to turn the camera on/off and to hit record. This did not work well, very cumbersome and completely unreliable. I switched some arms around, and the photo arm now independently hits the record button. I had to attach an allen's key to make it line up. I tried to get Equinox to send me a custom arm, but they would not without the housing being sent back in. Ideally the arm and allen's key would be welded together, but I did not want to do that in case there was a desire to return it to its original configuration.
