  2. I'm inspired to clean out more of my gear closet after selling my Z-240 strobes + my backup strobe. Spring cleaning 2019 a few days late. First up, a little used Nauticam 8.5" acrylic dome with shade, rated for 150m. With original box and accessory. The dome has some typical wear, but no scratches or nicks. Nothing that shows up in my photos even when there's a lot of blue in the frame. I'm sure if someone else is asked to describe it they'll say it is very clean. But I want to be conservative so nobody is unhappy after purchase. The bottom plastic lens shade has the usual wear, as that's where the camera sits on a table or floor. - New $590 Asking $350 Next, Nauticam Compact Port Base & Compact Port 30. This is my backup macro port, didn't see a lot of use. Here I'll say it is mint. Glass is perfect and no marks on the body. Together this is for a 60mm macro. If you add a Compact Port Extension 40 it'll work for a 105mm macro. So 3 small parts for 2 macro lenses. This compact port system has 1 advantage over the normal Port 60, if you unscrew the base from the port, you can essentially nest the port inside the base. Which makes it about 1/2 the size, saving a lot of room in your carryon bag. - New base $240 Asking $150 - New port 30 $200 Asking $125 - Buy both together for $250 Lastly I've my backup wide and macro do it all, Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 Macro HSM DC lens for Nikon. Wow that's a mouthful. And the matching Nauticam zoom gear. This is a useful lens for those dive where there are both big animals and macro subjects. Or if you've have not idea what might be interesting. Ever asked a divemaster if this is a macro or wide dive, and they shrug and say it depends. Not helpful This is the lens for those dives. I don't have the box for this anymore, but the glass is absolutely clean since it is only ever used behind a dome. Never used on land. - New lens $500 and gear $175. Asking $300 All prices does not include shipping, but it does include PayPal fees. So these are pretty good deals. And I ship fast, you can ask the buyers of my Inon strobes. Thanks. Happy diving and shooting!

  6. Make me an offer! The dome port has some light scratches and one more notable mark that could easily be buffed out. I'd include an acrylic cleaning kit I've used on various ports over the years to clean up small scratches. Dome port comes with neoprene cover and 2 port extensions (5510.11 & 5510.22). If the price is right, I'll throw in a Precision 5" dome with extension from UW Camera Stuff! Flat port is in great shape with Focus Extension (5510.75) and Port Extension (5510.16 I think).
  7. I have a used Nauticam 180mm Optical Glass Wide Angle Dome Port available. I shoot professionally, and someone else had it on a rental, small nick on the outside of the dome. Photos are available, but for some reason I can't figure out how to attach them here. Complete with original box, soft shell Nauticam Case, neoprene hood cover. No O-rings. I live in Toronto, Ontario. Happy to ship at buyers expense. $1200 CAD new.... hoping to get $800 CAD for it. OBO. Please email me at: info@carlyunderwater.com

  9. Hello! I am selling an Aquatica housing for Canon 5D Mark II that has accompanied me for a couple of years. It is an extremely robust and reliable piece of kit, which has never flooded nor given me any trouble. I need to sell it because (against my will...!) I am moving to Sony. I have added a couple of pictures I took with it so you can get an idea of the potential. The pack includes: -Aquatica housing: It is used but in good working condition. The housing has acoustic and visual water sensor, an hydrophone cable and the flash cable. Very practical -8'' dome: has one very tiny scratch that should be easy to remove, and that is invisible on the pictures anyway. Include a shade and a neoprene cover. -Flash cables: 2x short nikonos cables (5pin) + 2x10m nikonos cables (5pin), ideal for landscape or studio pictures -Canon 5D Mark II body: little cosmetic imperfections, but in excellent condition. Never fell on the floor -Canon 20mm/F2.8: excellent optic for landscape photography. It has a couple of cosmetic imperfections that were there when I bought it, but it works perfectly. -Accessories: 2xBattery + Battery charger + 2 x16G memory card + Camera strap Do not hesitate to send me a PM if you have any questions. Have a nice day!

  23. Hi all, I am brand new here and recently found this forum searching for information on dome/flat port theory for underwater applications. For my application I am trying to achieve a "one-focus-fits-all" solution - this is both for domes and flat ports. I have to manually adjust focus on land and once submerged in water it cannot be adjusted. The lenses I will be using are fixed focal lengths, most like from 3-8 mm used on small industrial cameras. What I have found out till now is first to adjust the focus to the hyperfocal distance. This distance can be calculated as: H = f^2/N*c+f, where f = focal length N = is f-number (f/D for aperture diameter D) - use D c is circle of confusion for finding the circle of confusion the following can be used: c = D/1500, where D is sensor diameter and d/1500 is used - I read somewhere that d/1500 is commonly used. Now H gives me the hyperfocal distance. Adjusting to this distance should give me an acceptable sharpness from H/2 to infinity - correct? Next up we need to translate this to our underwater ports to achieve the same functionality. It is here I find the difficulties being introduced. Flat ports create a virtual image approximately at the refraction ratio of water and air - correct? This yields 3/4 given that the refraction index of air is 1 and water is 1.333. Would this be as simple as then focusing the lens at 3/4 of hyperfocal distance for a flat dome? Dome ports I find to be more difficult. I have read that as a rule of thumb the infinity distance can be found as: Virtual Image Infinity = (4 * Dome Radius) - (4 * Dome Thickness) However, how does this translate to a hyperfocal distance? I hope that some of you in here can help me clarify this. It would be very useful to have a standard sheet of which one could plug in camera and lens parameters, and then achieve at what distance in air it should be focused to achieve infinity focus using both flat and dome ports. Best, Jesper
