  1. I have been testing time lapse with the GoPro Hero2 Entertaining! I will take this set up on a wreck dive and see how it looks
  2. I've completed my first 360 underwater video using multiple GoPro Hero2 cameras in a custom designed and built housing specific to this purpose. I made the first full test run with running cameras in October and unfortunately the vis was only 20 ft and I was at 70-80 fsw with fairly low light. So reds are absent even after an attempt at color correction in post. Here are links to two presentation formats: Interactive 360 video version This is only a start. I plan to add radial lighting to the housing over the winter. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Brian

  4. FOR SALE: Go Pro HD Hero 1 video/still camera. Super portable 1080p wide angle point of view video camera. First generation high def Hero 1 model. Comes with standard GoPro housing and basic attachments, cables. Note this basic housing with its dome port is fine for above water, and in splash environments, but not very good for focusing underwater. To achieve accurate focus underwater, I bought a custom third party Eye of Mine housing, which corrects focus underwater. Great condition, ready to use. Camera and Go Pro standard housing with dome port, $60 shipped and paypaled in lower 48. 5. Hi, Im new to this forum and UW video too, so be respectfull Im mainly diving in Quebec/Canada lake, very greenish water. And i heard good thing about Magenta filter, that they help the Gopro 2 to find his WB. But i want to have a lighting setup too, and removing gel filter will be imposible (inside the casing) So this is my question: Can you use the Gopro in green murky water with a magenta gel filter AND light (the light will probably be very pink/magenta) And what if, i keep the filter ON and use GREEN filter on my light ? Will everything be well White ballanced ? Ive never heard of this kind of setup, but this look quite logical. Sorry for my bas english, im french. Thx, Ben
  6. Hello everyone my name is Chris. I've been diving since 2006 and just bought my first dedicated underwater camera. I'm starting with a GoPro Hero 3 Silver edition. I'm doing my Master's thesis on trophic transfer of Mercury in reef communities which makes me a regular diver down in Long Key, FL. I'm curious about red filters and would appreciate any feedback you guys might have. Currently I'm looking at three very different lenses. The base price one is by PolarPro (http://www.polarprofilters.com/shop/goprohero3redfilter/), the mid grade by Backscatter (http://www.backscatter.com/sku/bs-gp-h3-flip.lasso), and the premium priced option by Snake River Prototyping (http://snakeriverprototyping.com/shopblurfix3so.html). Right now I'm leaning toward the Backscatter brand's model mainly due to the reasonable price, the ability to easily rotate the filter away, and some of the comparison videos I've seen. If you guys have any suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks! Chris
  7. Hi All, Here are a couple of videos I made using primarily a GoPro and some of the stills were taken with a Canon 550D/T2i - in hindsight I would have went with the HD format - so unfortunately they are quite low resolution - it was my first attempts. Here is a trip to Guadalupe And here is one of lobster diving/spearfishing/Whales around Bermuda - it does have some images of fish and lobsters being caught so if you are squeamish about that kind of thing I suggest you dont watch it - the marine environment around Bermuda is very well managed and protected with strict quotas an policing - and of course we only ever catch what we can eat. The whale footage is from Newfoundland. Any constructive criticism welcome! Cheers,
